Bit late to finding this video but I think Beth did a great job improving as the lesson progressed. She handled the more complex junction layouts very well. 👌

Hi Ashley, just wanted to say Thank You & an Amazing job Beth.
After passing my practical in October last year, I didn't get to garner any more driving experience once I had my licence in hand.
At the end of my practical test, I was asked about an incident during the test around a roundabout and my 'honesty' was to determine if I had passed or failed.
I answered honestly and passed. *This didn't sit right with me.*
Since then my confidence has been dwindling, lacking even.
I have been watching your videos which have given me a much-needed boost in morale and opened my eyes to further understanding the roads.
There's so much I thought I knew but your videos have shown me that in the end, all I have in hand is a simple pink card with my face on it which quite simply does not warrant me as a 'Good Driver'.
I consider myself blessed to come across your channel and content.
More lessons can't hurt so I will be taking on a few more sessions and frankly, I'm proud that I can even say that with humility.
Once again Ashley, Thank you so much for what you're doing on your channel, keep them coming because in a way, when I start driving again, you'll be sitting next to me, guiding me.
    With Love,
    Ali.

Love the “friend or foe” , it really helps to think about risk and manage it. Half the battle is anticipating other drivers behaviour. Thanks Beth for letting Ashley record this lesson. Some cracking driving ! If you’ve not taken that test already good luck, you’ll smash it!

What a difference with my lessons 25 years ago. I do all these spatial awareness checks, but I had to learn that on my own, which probably took years.
The driving instructor I had was a bully, instead of explaining the right things to do, he said nothing and waited till you did something wrong so he could put you down.
Many thumbs up to you, Ashley, for doing this many times better.

These two videos of Beth's mock test and this follow up lesson are the most valuable road safety videos I've ever seen. Thank you Ashley and especially Beth for allowing a look into your learning process.

I can finally join the “passed but still watching” gang! Passed yesterday afternoon on my second test, with 6 minors. I was so nervous but managed to pull myself together for the test! Now it’s time to get my car!

@@edwardhugus2772 you’re allowed 15 maximum. I really found TH-cam helped me with some techniques, like setting the gas before moving and some things like extra mirror checks that my instructor didn’t teach me. Still learning lots from TH-cam and when I go out on my own!

I've been driving 20 years, but i don't cover that many km in a year and you have taught me not to have tunnel vision.
I now scan left/right and also try to look through parked car's, gaps and window's. 👍🇦🇺

I really liked watching this one. It was calm, sunny, informative. A true happy lesson, well done to the learner i will say she is more than test ready. Hopefully it will be in less than 3 months though.

As a cyclist myself and now learning to drive, most cyclists (not all) are Unpredictable. I was in the same boat as Beth, lack of use of mirrors before indicating. I like to think I’m now bossing it. I have a mock test in a fortnight and I’m hoping I will be ready for my test in nine weeks. Great work Beth 👍🏼

Ashley. For about 2weeks now I have been binge watching your instruction videos. What a great service you are providing with your videos. Is it you who has been providing the footage for the "Hazzard Perception" section of the theory test? To get this sort of advice, normally you would have to pay for it.

Enjoyed the video, watching your videos, even with 50+ years of driving it keeps me on my toes.
I don’t think Beth is going to have any problems passing. Hope she does well.

I saw someone get rear-ended because the lights changed, and the car Infront slammed on (should've gone) and car behind put foot down (was only on large roundabout so relatively low speeds)

A few cyclists can sleep easier in their beds now that Beth has got the mirror checks sorted. I'm not impressed with the lad who was going "Salmon" though... but he's just one and I won't tar everyone with the same brush.
Had to chuckle at the stereotype banter... got me thinking of a few that, perhaps, I shouldn't repeat.
    Some cracking observations 👍

I had a strange experience today with a learner driver under instruction. I was approaching a crossroads to turn right, there was already a learner driver at the opposite exit with driving school roof, they had "right of way" due to arriving first, but the instrructor waved me through. [I imagine they may have been having a discussion about something], but it was just really odd to have to check two people are clear I am making my manoevre before proceeding. Was this correct, is this common with instructors?

I'm fearful of going over those types of bridges at 10.43, and never know the best way to plan for idiots overtaking on them and unseen hazards, especially when there is only a line to separate oncoming traffic. This video was really helpful.
    Any update on Erin?

They really should put some kind of a fence between the lanes, shouldn't they? But then bigger vehicles may not be able to fit, and emergency services vehicles won't be able to use that space either.

I remember when I passed my test, the examiner said off we go, I had to tell him to put his seatbelt on. I wonder if he did that on purpose to test me or if he genuinely forgot?

I don't understand how someone can slag off cyclists before they've even passed their test? It's literal proof that you can't drive safely enough
