that level of precision was absolutely immaculate. From the semi bore cut to the pulling your tie in away from the saw all in a singular fluid motion. You truly are on a different level with your craft.
Loved that top, nice hinge. Damien that was some crazy movie trailer scene with those ants. The top changing color. I was yelling cut the next chunk. I’m sure it was mesmerizing in person.
Dang, it seems the more you learn the more there is to learn !! Evidently that's why I seem to love this life !! Keeps you thirsty for more knowledge !! Thank you so much August for unselfishly sharing your's !!! It's truly invaluable ❤❤❤
August, can't get enough of your videos. That one cut where you fill the top and the butt hit the ground horizontal level was completely badass. How'd you do in geometry in high school? Looks like you aced it to me! You got the angles of the dangles figured out for sure.
They could use a experience guy like in Sulphur Oklahoma after that Tornado ravaged that town and took out 100+ year old buildings downtown. They were labeled historical years back and now they are gone. But trees everywhere are mangled.
Enjoyed the video. Nice topping that cottonwood. Creepy crawly ants.....ugh! Damian, you could have had an ant sandwich had you a couple slices of bread (pumpernickel goes great with small ants....so I'm told}. 😉.
People dont like cottonwoods but i do. We have some monstrous majestic beasts in texas, some of the biggest trees ive ever seen in person. Theres one in cen tex that every time i drive by it blows me away how huge it is
I had the pleasure of working with a guy who "couldn't" breathe the exhaust from chainsaws. I was so perplexed by why he was even there. I had a cut tendon in my hand that had been healing for a month but I desperately needed work. Basically running saw best I could with one hand, thumb and pointer finger on the other. Guy was getting paid just as much as me, unreal.
Worked with a guy in the trades. 80% if our day was spent on ladders of all sizes. New guy hired would go into fits if he stood on or above the second rung of a step ladder.....cold sweat, panic, shaking so bad, the ladder was clanking and vibrating. I asked him why he was here if he was so nervous on ladders and he said "my therapist and me thought I was finally ready". The company kept him on for another three months and he basically got paid to stand around most of the day while the rest if us actually accomplished the work.
Not having to flip up through Ivy is the way I would rather go no mater how many throughs it took. If I know it's not an easy through I grab the Big Shot {love that thing} if I can save some effort a little set up time will pay off for me. At 60 this old Dog loves new Trix!!!

Be glad they weren't 'fire-ants' like we have in Florida (SE US)

ants are the best tree fellers
1:56 provides a clear indication of the forces at play. Glad you caught that on camera.
It blows my mind how diverse your guys canopy is over there. You have all the different types of trees . Thanks for all the knowledge. Its priceless.

Super tree nerd here, and loving it!

It bled ants.😂
Great shot!
Not sure if TN has lots of tree bats but we have lots of bats nonetheless. I've hit them in the early evening while riding my bike.

Nice dropzone, the change for making mistakes are not much, unless you make the wrong cut..
you almost cut your safety line
Nope
Nah, he just wasn't going to risk any kind of extra backwards motion of the saw causing it to connect with those life supporting fibers😊
Is it sad as a fellow climber I dropped my phone trying to grab “my rope” AKA your rope when I seen it heading towards your saw 😅
✊
Do not go gentle into ANT-i-quint-y!
trimmers nerdery
Damien should change his name to Adam….
