Brilliantly handled -- homeowners and tree!
Epic example of the value of patience -- pausing to think about the physics, about the liability, to let folks get out of the drop zone, to let folks get out of the drop zone again, and again.

Thanks, it's striking to me that some will see the job unfold as you did and see the required patience and the thought provoking adventure into liability, and others will see it and criticize me harshly for not doing this or that and for filming the job and expressing my emoji thoughts about what I was feeling at the time. I've thought about pulling the video down a few times but I keep realizing that I've simply shown what happened and expressed some of my feelings on the subject. Some just won't like that it's filmed at all (they think a betrayal of the guy who set the booby trap) or that I took part in it. I think it's just a nitty gritty subject and so controversial.

@@AugustHunicke the critics boggle me: You turned "downed power lines, smashed fence, blocked road and very possibly dead bodies" into -- as far as I could see -- zero damage. Heck, even the fruit tree survived! 100% victory snatched from the jaws of defeat. And then shared the wisdom/example for others.

👉 With millennials buying homes, you'll never be short of work! Well, if the results of the 2020 election stick, then the powerful international Marxist elites will begin implementing their sweeping societal changes(ie. "the great reset"), which is to disallow/repeal property rights, after also putting an end to sovereignty in the US and elsewhere, in favor of a global Marxist super-state. At that point you won't be hired by homeowners, because there won't be any. Instead you'll work at the whims of communist despots. Probably for a LOT less money too..... 🤕
🙄 😕Be careful what you wish for folks, and always be leery of the western "news" media and their "journalists", most of whom arent trustworthy! That's because most are either partisan activists, narcissists, or both.... Either way, DON'T trust, but DO verify! In the last few weeks they've been running puff-pieces on a loop, to dupe us ALL into believing that Joe Biden is basically a combination of:
      A). A warm, caring grandpa figure! 🥰
B). Ultimately competent and brilliant! 🦸
      C). Incorruptible and honest! 😇
👿👹What they DON'T/WON'T show you, are all the blatant, provable examples of corruption, including bribery, blackmail, collusion, plagiarism, undue prosecution of non-violent drug offenders(mainly black and Latino) as a result of HIS 1994 Crime Bill, an endless succession of lies, hypocrisy and flip-flopping, selling out almost our entire industrial sector economy/jobs to China and Mexico, support for "an endless, unhindered stream of poor, unskilled, blue collar immigrants from Mexico and Latin America"(literally his own words), who compete with actual US citizens for jobs, while depressing blue collar wages across the board!
If only the "educated", condescending, upper crust white collar "progressives" still cared about THOSE Americans, in the way that true LIBERALS used to care for them!! ☹️👎

I had a friend ask for help putting in a fence, well I get there and the neighbor had dropped a maple 90 degrees to the cut. As I look over I see a ratchet strap about 10 feet up the trunk (that’s what they’re puller). Well the guy comes out telling us what the issue was (wrong) so I point out a few things that he dismisses so I shut up and walk away because I’ve only cut down a couple thousand so what do I know 😡

Patience has wonderful rewards, and often when you least expect them.
I've seen it often in these kinds of circumstances, though I used to seriously struggle with that in my younger days. Sad, but for some folks, and sometimes only "at times", not always, it's just like a monkey wrench has been dropped into the works, and a little bit of kindness can help clear it up faster and easier than a lost temper. But a lost temper can make Everything go much much worse and for far longer, with deep chain reactions.
The Kinder way used to drive me up a wall.
It could have been far worse, this time. The older man COULD have been a whole lot more like Lucille Ball! LOL!
I thought most of the way through the video that it WAS going to be like having her there, and something truly awful was about to happen.
This man has to have had a lot of experience with that, for him to trust the old man with his own truck, that way. Real gutsy move.

August, well handled, as a KNUCKLEHEAD tries to fell, his own tree without disregard of where the HELL IT WAS GOING TO GO, BRAVO, going with ONLY what you had ! WOW, CHEERS 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

I've felled a lot of trees, pretty fair at putting them down where I want them. When it came to the large maple next to the street corner with lines passing in both directions across the corner from it, I never hesitated in calling the pros. There is a time and place to recognize your limits. Nice work!

Good grief, man, where's your sense of adventure? If I chickened out and called for the paid help every time things got a little dicey, I would .......still have an undamaged garage, a square house and the love of my neighbors!

Not too many people could handle this situation with patience and respect and then to have this perfect (given the circumstances) outcome is a beautiful thing to watch. I was on pins and needles ... I hope this gentleman learned his lesson and the wife eased up a bit ; ) You're a miracle worker August.

I've worked for a tree service for the last 25 years...some of our most "interesting", frustrating, and messiest jobs have been taking care of things that homeowners started, got in over their heads, and called us in to fix. I especially like it when the homeowner "helps" like this guy is doing.

Good work! I'd love to have you in my area if I need a tree guy. This reminded me of interactions I've had with homeowners when I fix their electrical installations. It makes me cringe when they put faith in youtube and their ability to get lucky when they could potentially sell their dangerous house to an innocent family before it ever has a chance to burn down.
It's good to see you keep God with you. Thank you for the quality content.
