Great info thank you! I’ve been braiding my hair since I was a teenager and am in my late 30s now and I always avoided adding products to braids because of that inevitable buildup. Buuut, now that my hair is fully natural, I’m realizing I definitely need something 😅. This was super helpful, thank you!
I have that Orange/yellow shine n jam, for a product that says extra hold... it holds nothing, i have the finest hair known to man, and i didn't hold it down, but when i took out the jumbo braids i put in with a rubber band method, my hair was alarmingly still moisturised and moist after 4-5 days.
I used the yellow shine n jam to do the bohemian twists on myself and I agree it didn’t have good hold, if I redo these twists next time I’ll use the red jar. Thanks for this video 🧡🧡

Hello! Genuine questione here. Is it offensive or disrespectful if a non black person does protective hairstyles like this? I dont know much about this topic since Im asian and I dont live in America but I do have curly hair and there are just times I really dont feel like taking an extra step ng styling. Im looking for techniques I can use because my hair really gets a bit untamable sometimes. If this is not acceptable in your culture I wont do it though.
Thanks for being respectful. To be honest, if you were to get a style like the girl in the video, people might see it as offensive. I personally think styles are for everyone. To be on the safe side, I’ve seen girls of other races do jumbo knotless braids/cornrows with added hair/Fulani braids but if you were to get passion twists (like the girl in the video) or small knotless braids/dreadlocks etc people would most likely take offense
