That John Lennon and Yoko Ono LP press you have is very interesting. I never encounter an album where one side has a label on the other side for a completely different album and even label. I do have a few albums where the label for side one was printed on side two as well. My Crosby, Still & Nash album CSN (the 1977 album that is) is like that, and because all the songs are of similar length, I can't tell what side I'm playing when I first put it on, but if "Dark Star" plays, I know it's side two.
My copy of everybody's in showbiz by the kinks has that same error. I labeled the sides with a sticky note haha! I have never really seen where one side has a completely different label either. Thanks for watching ✌☮
Nice finds with The Doors stuff. My fave band. You only really need Cheers' first couple of albums. However, I'd recommend their "Highlights And Lowlives" album from 1990. It's a killer, with great production, You can hear it on Y.T.
Lots of heat you got there! That Bill Withers album is sublime. Jamul has been on my list for a while. Yup, obi (oh-bee) not o.b.i. It’s the Japanese word for a traditional sash or wide belt (usually for kimonos). I have a lot of Japanese pressings but only half or so have the original obi - they look cool but not having one can keep the price low(er) so I’m cool with that. Now I want to look for the Beatles UK releases but Japanese pressings.
I always called it an oh bee until I heard some other people say it in the vc, good to know the correct way. Also didn't know the meaning behind the word, very cool! I would love to find all of the Beatles UK releases on the super cool Japanese red vinyl! Thanks for watching ✌☮
I am guessing that Double fantasy record is the result of a pressing plant error. It will be interesting to see if it's DF on both sides with just the wrong label on one, OR if it's actually two different halves of two different records pressed back to back. I have heard of the latter happening. And having the two different labels must be because the plant produced vinyl for different companies so they would be fulfilling orders for all those different places... but yeah! That's definitely funny :)
Also, with that Hard Day's Night pressing, I'd say the cover alone makes it worthwhile at 5 bucks per record. Maybe you can find a coverless disc in decent shape out there.
I would assume so as well. It plays Double Fantasy on both sides, so just a label error. There is a version of Houses of the Holy where one side plays Green Day or something crazy like that haha. Its a cool thing to have! Also, will try to take the Hard Days night to my local shop to see if they can fix the warp, if not, I'll search for a replacement record. Thanks for watching ✌
Sweet finds like usual! It’s funny, I have Strange Days in mono too, but am still on the look out for a clean stereo Monarch. Any records you think you will pick up for Christmas? I’ve been liquidating on EBay a little to make up for my recent pick ups 😁
I think its essential to have both! Such different mixes. I bought a few more expensive things for myself in the past few weeks haha. Also going to offload a little bit of my collection for sure. Thanks for watching ✌☮
Hello, Sorin! A very interesting group of new purchases; you did very well as always! The John Lennon “Double Fantasy” is especially interesting with the mislabeling and it reminds me of a STYX “Paradise Theatre” (etched vinyl on Side 2) album I once had. Side 2 was the normal STYX record as intended, but Side 1 was The Fabulous Thunderbirds’ “Butt Rockin’”, and it blew my mind when I played it, expecting to hear STYX!
The Double Fantasy is very interesting! Both sides play Double Fantasy, so it seems to just be a label error. That Styx error is very cool! I love cool and interesting misprints like these. Thanks for watching ✌☮
Great buys Sorin. Those Japanese Beatles pressings look nice. Many years ago I got rid of my excess Beatles records, mainly US copies and comps. I decided I only wanted to keep my UK originals and everything else was surplus to requirements. Must admit those booklet/inserts would be tempting to keep though. I'm sure you'll get all the Funkadelic lps eventually. The prices have gone crazy in the last decade or so. Cheers Nige
I decided to keep most of the Japanese pressings from this lot, I think they are so damn cool! I could see myself letting go of a few down the road once I get some more UK originals. I seem to be able to find the Funkadelic records for pretty cheap, I'm sure I'll have them all one day. Thanks for watching ✌☮
The Neil Young bootleg is awesome! There’s a funny video on TH-cam of Neil young walking in to a record store and getting mad when he sees they’re selling his bootlegs and almost steals one
Agree on Funkadelic ( and Parliament). You will find with time you will get steal of deals and sometimes pay more For something. I buy what I want and for some times it’s strictly for the perceived collectors value. I am a collector First and foremost because there is not enough time in the day to listen to everything I have. Keep collecting and Doing your videos
I have gotten great deals on almost every Funkadelic record in my collection. I will not keep an album if I don't enjoy the music, no matter how valuable, but I understand what you mean. I have some records that I kept more because they are cool than anything else. Thanks for watching ✌☮
I usually have to go all the way to Tokyo, or Bangkok to get the killer Japanese pressings, with or without Obi's !! Nicely done, Sorin. We will be back in Shinjuku and Shibuya Tokyo, this spring. Man.. Enjoy those !
Nice copies you scored. Always good to see Kevin Ayers on vinyl being found 🤙🏼✌🏼
Thank you! I adore Kevin Ayers and his songwriting. I think he made some wonderful weird music haha. ✌☮
The Yellowjackets are a great fusion jazz band. Great show as always , very cool Beatles records . Take care art
I'll check them out. Thanks for watching ✌☮
Good morning SorinVinyl 🤘🤘🤘
Good morning! ✌

Love the way youve built a better L.A. Woman with a little help from yer friends 🤘✌️
Haha yeah, been trying to upgrade for a while!
Awesome video man. I love The Beatles too. Was awesome to see those killer Beatles pressings! Added that soul record to my wantlist too 👍🙌
Thank you! I am a Beatles freak! I've got the Marlena Shaw record on right now, I really like it. ✌☮
@@sorinvinyl1523its now on my shortlist. Can’t wait to hear it.

The doors albums are killer. Your amassing a fantastic collection. Enjoyed the video.
Thanks so much! I love the Doors! ✌☮

When CDs came out it was obvious that someone dumped their Japanese records with obi. I picked up three. I wish I had picked them all up.
Thats really cool, probably very cheap compared to what they go for now haha. ✌☮
@ Two to three dollars each.
Are the 1976 Japanese Beatles pressed on translucent black vinyl?
They look like they are on solid Black vinyl to me. Is there a translucent black variant?
@@sorinvinyl1523 I don’t know if there is but lots of Japanese vinyl is translucent. I always check.

I would assume the label got mixed up in the stamping process on John Lennon’s record

Yeah, I like my Japanese pressings ! See you, Sorin.
