Austin Brown (high tenor) was singing the lead in this. He did have someone in mind. His girlfriend Amberly was in the studio. He was singing to her. All the guys sing lead - there is no one lead in this group. The person they feel sounds the best sings lead. Such a great group of guys, very humble and down to earth. I'd suggest "End of the Road" - Rob Lundquist (tenor) sings lead in it and he really shows off, but they all sound great. Other suggestions; "Take Me Home Country Roads", "Brothers in Arms", "Can't Stop the Feeling", and "In the Blood" just to name a few. Thanks ladies!! 🖤🍟

"Brothers in Arms" is one that is very different from the original, but it flat works.
Matthew Austin Brown's vocals in this are incredible! He also has some great songs he wrote himself on his channel....that he does with Amberly!🥰
Home Free did a fantastic job with the 1966 Percy Sledge hit. This was done during Covid and all the parts were done remotely and edited together. Austin had his girlfriend sitting by the camera so every time he is looking at the camera he is singing to her. Adam Rupp is one of the very best beatboxer/vocal percussionist in the the world. Austin was trained in College in musical theatre so it shows in his stage presence. When daughter said something about Michael I thought who is Michael. Then I remembered M Bolton recorded it. But I've loved the Percy Sledge version since since 1966 when I was 12. It was such a huge hit back then and people made that their song at their weddings.
The beatboxer Adam is amazing. They call him a "human drumkit" and also a "freak of nature", in their concerts he does a beatbox solo in the middle of the show and it's crazy good!

Home Free! The greatest vocal band ever!! Austin did an incredible job, as usual!!
During COVID lockdown, these guys were non-stop recording music and videos from their homes separately and putting together these videos to get us all through. You'll see a lot of videos from this period where they're not in the same room. They're back on the road now and their show was the first live event I went to after reopening.
They do have quite a few originals as well as a great sense of humor. Since Christmas is coming up, I suggest "Full of Cheer".
Welcome to the Home frys! That's what the fans of Home Free call themselves. Home Free has a huge catalog of fantastic music. The guys names are Austin (high tenor) Rob (middle tenor) Adam Chance (baritone) Adam Rupp (beat boxer) and Tim (the bass). The group won the show the sing off nationally. Here are some suggestions, ( country roads, Bless the broken road, Brothers in Arms, in the blood, Christmas songs, oh holy night, do you hear what I hear)...
Austin did a fabulous job of this classic song. Loved Percy Sledge's version, but this was taken to another level. I think it is also better than Michael Bolton's version. And remember this was done during quarantine, so the guys weren't even together. The backing harmonies are great, along with Tim's bass. And Adam's vocal percussion is outstanding. This is why these guys are my favorite a cappella group.
Michael Bolton ??? ,no no no , he tries so hard to be soulful but fails ,I just don't believe him , these guys and others you mention do have heart and soul .
It is so easy to forget that Adam isn't a 'drummer' but in many songs it is also impossible to remember that the stand up bass doing the running bass line is Tim. Honey I'm Good, Dreamer, Crazy - just a couple of the ones with the running bass.
Remember that this was done during the lockdown all of the boys were in their own homes for this recording that's why they were on the monitors. Great reaction ladies.

Ladies Michael Bolton covered this song also. Percy Sledge made it famous many, many years ago. But Floyd Cramer who no one ever heard of first sang it.
There are drum reaction channels that talk about how Adam Rupp actually sounds like a drum set. I've seen them ask if he can play the drums for real. And the answer is Yes, he was an actual jazz drummer. You might like the video of Adam Rupp Drum Solo. Have a blast going down the Home Free rabbit hole. But save Mayday till you know them better 😆

So easy to forget that Adam doesn't actually have a drum set. Unbelievable. The backing vocals are beautiful. And then there's Austin out there in front flirting with the camera. And his girlfriend, who was standing by the camera. For another different sound, try Helplessly Hoping or Listen to the Music. But you really can't go wrong with any of their videos.
Do You Hear What I Hear by Home Free is a must. Austin Brown is an incredible tenor. All five guys are incredible. Thanks Bye
Their arrangement in this one...band members on TV screens, was done during the pandemic. So this is how they kept us entertained even when no one could leave their house.
Some more Home Free recommendations;
"End of the Road" a great Boys to Men cover and one of their best.
"Brothers in Arms", "How Great Thou Art" or "Helplessly Hoping" for incredible 5 part harmonies where Adam Rupp sings instead of beat boxing.
"O' Holy Night", "Do You Hear What I Hear", and "Mary Did You Know" for Christmas\Spiritual.
"Blue Ain't Your Color" or "Folsom Prison Blues" for a different take on some country songs.
"The Butts Remix" and "Country Fried Pop Medley" for a laugh.
"In the Blood", "My Church", and "Amazed" because they are just really great songs.
"Mayday" but don't listen to this until after you get to know these guys.

I'll add my recommend for their cover of Listen to the music....it's off the charts...also their originals DIVE Bar Saints and Understand.
This group has been around since 2000 and has released at least 200 videos and 200 to 250 shows a year from the U.S Canada and Europe but what a bunch of great guys they do benefits for veterans, antibulling and special events for kids.
You need to listen to the original version by Percy Sledge! It is a 60's song after all. but I think you would love Home Free's cover of Crosby, Stills ,and Nash 's "Helplessly Hoping"
Adam Rupp, the beatboxer, is an amazing talent (as are they all). It's been said that he swallowed a drum kit when he was a kid, and he must have swallowed a harmonica as well (see their cover of "Man Of Constant Sorrow")!
I love that their covers respect the original, while still making it their own. They covered Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the USA", and later Mr. Greenwood approached them to do it again with him (and the US Air Force Singing Sergeants). They've done several covers with the original legends: "The Devil Went Down To Georgia" with Charlie Daniels, "Elvira" with The Oakridge Boys, "American Pie" with Don Maclean, just to name a few.
Austin Brown (lead singer) and Tim Foust (bass) do a great cover of "My Maria".

Home Free is just simply amazing. They can sing anything. During covid to keep all their fans entertained they released a new song every other week on Friday. It became Home Free Friday. They have so many amazing covers, but also quite a few original ones too. One of my favorites is Snowglobe. Really enjoyed watching your reaction and can't wait to see yall do more Home Free.
Home Free does an excellent job covering "When A Man Loves A Woman". The original was recorded by Percy Sledge and went to #1 on the charts in 1966. Twenty-five years later, pop superstar, Michael Bolton, recorded the song and it went to #1 on the pop charts in 1991. Both of those versions of this song are outstanding and worth checking out, too.
When you're performing any song no matter how many times it's been performed by somebody else you go up there and it's now your song like it's never been performed before you make it yours your own style, like it's the first time.
If you would like to bridge that Generation Gap, look for "Elvira" by Home Free. They sing it with the Oak Ridge Boys who had a monster hit with it back in the early 80s. Two generations performing together seamlessly.
This was a great cover of an original, but the original was sung by Percy Sledge, check him out and I think he would be proud of the way Home Free covered his song.
Speaking as someone who bought the Perry Sledge version when it was first released and still have it in my collection, I think this version is far superior and I never thought the day would come when I would say that.
Adam Rupp drum solo will show some of what the beatboxer can do.
A couple of the fun one's they do: "Sea Shanty Medley" and "The Butts Remix" But they have so many good songs. I also recommend "How Great Thou Art" and "Go Rest High Upon the Mountain"
2 suggestions that give a good idea of how well they do harmonize together are "Helplessly Hoping" and "End of the Road".

Loved your reactions (facial, body movements, especially eyes). As a bona fide Home Fry, I can attest that there isn't a song that they don't do very well. For the Christmas season, they have many... I suggest "Mary Did You Know". Enjoy the rabbit hole OBTW, Austin was singing to his lady Amberly, so you are right, he was singing his love to her.

LOL Yes, Austin's voice is incredible but, the bass singer Tim Foust is no slouch. He has 7 octaves. FYI, Austin is flirting, his girlfriend is on stage with him during the recording of this song. PS they do Christmas/Gospel music too.

Yes Micheal Bolton"s version is also a cover song. Percy Sledge is the OG of this 1966 song. But to me Home Free does it the best out of anybody. For a laugh i love The Butts Remix song.
you should try another great cover tribute by Home Free, the Doobie Brothers "Listen to the music" even their cover of John Denver's "Country Roads." if you want a bit more fun and still a great cover song. their version of Huey Lewis and the news " Working for a living."

Would love to see you two react to Adam Rupp's "drum solo". This was filmed at a live show and really shows his talent. The other thing from Home Free I'd love you to react to is Austin Brown (the lead singer here) and his tenor compatriot (Rob Lundquist) sing "Nessun Dorm" from the opera Turandot. It is incredible--it'll blow you away. The guys from Home Free can sing anything.

Home Free is such a great acapella group. I love Home Free and Peter Hollens another singer on TH-cam did a collab together of U2s 'I still haven't found what I'm looking for ' it's amazing and they each have their patrons sing the chorus.

A small warning. You should not react to Home Free's cover of 'Mayday' by CAM until you know them a better. There is a surprise in that video that people who are new to the group usually miss. To get the full effect of 'Mayday' you need to know a bit about what each member does beforehand. Here are a few of my favorites, they're covers of, 'Think A Little Less', 'Die A Happy Man', 'Thank God I'ma Country Boy' and their original song, 'Why Not.'
