    Thank you for this. I actually have a LiveU Solo. Have had one for a couple years, but never used it. This was a nice refresher course!! I will get SIM card service and get the LRT!! Subscribed!!! Officially Number 107 😁

    Question. Can you with the liveu website, put in the link to a channel and start the live stream automatically, or do you have to go to your channel, get the live stream link, and then copy and paste into the liveu website?

    • @gadgetspod
      @gadgetspod  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You have to go to your channel and get the stream url and key which you need to put in RTMP settings in LiveU web portal.

    Can I power the box from external power sources?

    • @gadgetspod
      @gadgetspod  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you can. A power supply adapter comes in the box along with the device.

    Can we use liveu solo for Roland Aerocaster?

    • @gadgetspod
      @gadgetspod  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am afraid not. As LiveU gets video signals via Hdmi or sdi. Aerocaster don’t have hdmi/sdi program out.

    Can you have more than one camera with it?

    • @gadgetspod
      @gadgetspod  ปีที่แล้ว

      You need to have a video mixer if you want to get feed from multiple cameras. And than you can send the program feed to the LiveU solo. Look for Blackmagic design ATEM switchers.

    A shame that the older units cannot do SRT or HLS. RTMP is a bandwidth hungry and patchy. It appears you have to buy the Pro version to get those formats.

    • @gadgetspod
      @gadgetspod  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes right. But there is another way. You can send stream from this unit to Castr and get SRT / HLS links .

    • @SteveVickAK
      @SteveVickAK ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The latest firmware update for the solo allows srt. But the problem is the srt is done via LRT cloud. So your not saving any bandwidth. The stream gets converted to srt once it reaches the lrt server. I have the solo pro and tried sending srt. The bandwidth from the solo to the LRT cloud was about 4.5mb. From there is converted the stream to SRT and sent it to castr. Castr reported the bandwidth at about 2.8-3mb. So using srt with the solo didn’t change the amount of bandwidth I needed. It only saved me bandwidth after it hit the cloud. I find this frustrating and misleading. I was pissed when I figure this out. If you want bandwidth saving using srt then you would need an encoder at your venue. But then you could notuse the solo”s (overpriced) LRT bonding. I ended up buying a peplink router that does bondind and this eliminated my need for the overpriced / over hyped solo pro. (Can you tell I am not a fan:). The only reason people think Live U solo is so great is because it used to be the only one doing the bonding. They are lax on their feature upgrades and even the new solo pro has a lot of corner cutting. They just stuck it in the the 300u body. It has ports that are unusable (like an SD slot that is connected to nothing). And the solo pro is suppose to take four dongles but the body only has two USB ports. So they make you buy a special cable. It’s just cheap… like they don’t even care. Thankfully there are other competitors coming out with better products and cheaper prices. Any way, back to the main point, the solo now does SRT but only via the LRT cloud. There are advantages to this but it is not going to save you bandwidth from your point of sending.
