Never heard this one live either.. Yet another great underplayed song. Maybe they can break out more of these classics on an upcoming tour. I'd love to hear Saints in Hell live!
@yak45900 yes, priest was at their peak in these 3 albums, too bad that the guitar tone and the drums were so thin. With "modern" production those albums would sound incredibly heavy.
I'd venture they never played this live, because the intro high note sounds like it's probably Rob's top out point. He struggled slightly to get on the note in this performance. Amazing he would do this live!😮
in 1996 i had the great honor of meeting The Metal God,a dream come true. He signed a white vinyl album JP album i have, and it will forever be my most prized pocession. He was the guest DJ at KCAL 96.7, in Redlands,Ca. on a Sat.night,so i grabbed my album and jumped in my truck and made a 20 minute drive to the station and waited for him to appear outside. he was wearing a"hot wheels" shirt and a Pheonix Suns baseball cap. i kick myself in the ass b/c i forgot to bring lyricsi wrote 2 give him.
the same thing with simmon Philips who played drums on sin after sin great drumming on that LP BUT he had other things going on, so Binks also did, Holland wasn't incredible BUT he he stay for a long time, considering they went through many drummers in the 1970's
He was replaced because he wanted to be paid as band member and not as a hired musician. It had nothing to do with the other band members, it was their managers who let him go.
@@ferrreira You're absolutely right! They tried to screw him on "Unleashed" as well. They said he had no right to any money from it because they had already paid him to play the gig.
I saw them on the UK Stained Class Tour and they definitely didn't play it...but what a song!... anyway, it remains one of the best concerts I have ever seen!
Strange innit the first drummer(s) were dismissed for not being good enough but Les was considered to be too good. Simon Phillips was excellent on Sin After Sin.
Les Binks was dismissed due to management geezers not wanting to consider him a full time band member and paying him as such. It had nothing to do with the other band members.

Great to hear live! This will energize me for another year!

MMT you made my New Year. Been a priest fan since I was 7. I've never heard these rare gems played live!!!!!!!!
Kick Ass!!!!!!
incredibile!!

Les Binks riding that cymbal on the riffs on the studio cut - always cut me to the bone. SC is my favorite JP album.

Funny how Ian Hill looks the same age in all his photos ...lol!!
Why JP stopped playing this great song live?
It would be really hard for Rob to sing it now
I agree. Sin After Sin rocks as well.
thanks for sharing this. you got some good ole pics of the band too! Rob is still as great as ever!
I'll say this to my dying day. I'll forever be baffled by Les Binks being replaced by Dave Holland.
Priest wanted to streamline their sound after this album and Les Binks didn't want to adjust is style of playing. He should have stayed IMHO.

@@derekjhpeterson3882 as Queen’s Roger Taylor would say, “fucking wankers”.
awesome song. they should play this live again
Total energy of Priest and fury!
'n/
they got alot simplier especially on the next three albums. this is true priest.
Rob Halford the Karate Master!
Halford at the top of his game
i will agree that priest were untouchable between 78-83, although their best studio work may be their earlier albums.

Awesome! I didn't think this was ever performed live!
He can still do quite a bit with his voice. it'd probably sound a bit different if he did it now, though. A lot more rasp, and a pause in between.
only cuz of the quality the performance was amazing
I don't think rob can do the intro anymore.
The guys getting old, i understand him.
I think you underestimate Rob.
He's the savage, pacman, he's the savage pacmaaaaaan.

@yak45900
correct; the Les Binks era!!
@pretzeldog67 congrats bro.
@pretzeldog67 Did he ask you out on a date and give you his phone number? :D
What's w/ the ugly stage costumes Rob wore before the "leather" phase?
It's called the 1970s, before people got so serious.
trust me, you don't really want to hear rob "singing" this song now.
@pretzeldog67 SORRY!!! I thought you were also a chick, like me!
