I think both figures do a good job of matching the style of their respective references, since Thrawn in Rebels does look a good bit different than Thrawn in Ahsoka. I do reeeeaally like the new Thrawn though, and will be picking it up once I see that set in stores near me!
1:48 honestly, I don't blame Lego for messing up thrawn's rank on the original, back then they used concept art where thrawn was just a regular admiral, I blame it more on the people in charge of getting reference images. What is absolutely not excusable however is how the new thrawn has 2 less code cylinders than he's supposed to. I get that they're bigger on the new one so it'd be harder to fit all 4, but i think they could've (or at least tried to) find a way to do it. It's made worse with the fact that both thrawns are 6 years apart so you can't say it was an issue with concept art unlike the original. I know it's incredibly minor and new thrawn is still a 10/10 figure, but it just bugs me how they got a detail correct on the original that wasn't carried over 6 years later.
Tbh i prefer old thrawn, i dont like his new face print, it doesn’t look like thrawn and the blue hair is simply iconic and should have been also present in asokas thrawn

That's nothing compared to alot of figs....I have the yuletide squadron pilot and he's valued at almost 600 bucks....and THATS still cheap compared to some of the others.

i sold that figure and all my lego from 2010-2023 for 50 usd since i was so wildly desprate for money so i could eat, this is good news kinda good figures in honestly terribly priced sets for what you get are coming out, least the battle pack with the clones and droids is good at 30

Best option would be to combine the two…torso and legs are better on the new fig, but everything else is better on the old
I agree. Personally I like the new blue skin color, so I would use that instead. But I’d 100% get the blue hairpiece from the older figure.

I like the black haie and new face color, though the old face print was more striking imo. Also, them getting the code cylinders wrong is sooo funny.
It's one of my biggest pet peeves since other than the code cylinders, new thrawn is literally perfect

I certainly didnt. I got the Rebels figs when they were brand new. They were far more affordable back then. Same with the Rogue One and Solo figs.

Skin looks less like a blue raspberry.
The newer one has better printing on the torso and better legs. The older one has better skintone and hair color.

The reason the og Thrawn has the wrong ranking because the concept art had that ranking.
