    Love the Kastmaster spoons. They are deadly here as well for browns and steelhead on Lake O. Nice looking trout, AJ. Love the slow mo release.

    Gotta love trout fishing on a fresh water lake, beautiful looking spot, I hear you mentioning about low light is good for the bite, I cannot stress enough, the amount of people I see turning up to a lake sometimes after 10am. I often say to them your a bit late, and the proof is in the pudding when they eventually come out with the remark of that fishing has been a bit dead, before sunrise and leading to sunset always is the best time for trout fishing ...

    • @MountainStateAngler
      @MountainStateAngler  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Indeed mate. I’m quite shocked when I see people showing up after 9:30am to fish. Their numbers greatly reduce as far as catch rate, early and late is key!

    it would certainly help beginners if you explained , and showed, what you are using at the end of your line. Lingo like spoon to a beginner means something you stick in ice cream. words like Kastmaster only confuse the beginner, is it a reel or rod or what? . Its fun to watch someone catch fish all day long but when folks come to you to learn, at least provide them with a visual of the product.

    • @MountainStateAngler
      @MountainStateAngler  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Jay! Sorry to hear about Antero. I went to Antero after you I ended up doing very well. Do you know how to use jerkbaits? I threw some rapalas, Strike King lures, dynamic lures and smithswick and it fished well. How did you do at Gross Reservoir?

      @@MountainStateAngler My buddy and I ended up going to Carter Lake and really felt like we had a perfect scenario, got there at about 7 AM and ended up leaving around 1030 because the wind was so bad that it was just pushing our lines all over the place when we were using worms and power bait. It was also so windy that we couldn’t even use any lowers. So we drove down the road and went to union reservoir and ended up fishing there from about 1030 all the way till 4PM, using only worms and power bait, again didn’t get one bite unfortunately!
