- Unsilenced: Voices of Young Tibetans - S3 Ep1- Conversation with Tenzin Passang la.
In this Episode we engage with Tenzin Passang la, the current India National Director of @SFTHQIndia.
Tenzin Passang la unfolds the origins of Students for a Free Tibet, a prominent Tibet Support Group globally, shedding light on the driving forces that led her to become an integral part of it.
She passionately articulates the critical role that SFT plays in addressing the challenging circumstances faced by Tibet, a region under occupation. She further expounds on the various initiatives by SFT to counteract the misleading narratives propagated by Beijing concerning Tibet. The conversation provides valuable insights into the organisation's commitment to fostering awareness and advocating for the rights and freedom of the Tibetan people.
Moreover, she offers a poignant glimpse into her personal journey, recounting her time at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and the profound impact it had on her perspective. A particularly inspiring segment unfolds as she shares her triumphant battle against cancer, a testament to resilience and the unwavering support she received from her family and friends.
This podcast episode captures not only the essence of Students for a Free Tibet but also provides a powerful narrative of courage, activism, and personal triumph.
Unsilenced: Voices of Young Tibetans is an audio and video podcast presented by the Foundation for Non-Violent Alternatives (FNVA) and hosted by our Research Associate Tenzing Dhamdul. Unlike Tibetans who were able to escape the clutches of Chinese communist authoritarian rule, those who are still under their occupation do not have the voice to express themselves, and ironically those who are empowered, concerned and courageous to express themselves in Tibet are met with the harsh might of CCP's retribution, with many simply disappearing and rendered silent. This podcast is a tribute to all those brave Tibetans.
Our conversations with young Tibetans will offer an interesting view of their lives in exile, their future aspiration for Tibet and give them a platform through which they can freely express themselves and in many ways decide their own Future.

Wow Students for a Free Tibet really does a lot in campaigning for Tibet. Thermofisher confirming decision to not sell their DNA kits to the Tibetan Autonomous Region (TAR) with SFT and other Tibet Support Groups leading this campaign is inspiring. Tenzin Passang journey is also an inspiration kudos to her👏👏 need more Tibetans like her who continue to advocate for Tibet.
nice Tibet Forum LOGO! Happy to hear stories from JNU and Tibetans working on social issues
Would've loved to listen to the full episode but audio quality needs dire improvement. Can you work on your mic settings or enhance voice in post-production, pls 🙏
