Hi. I work as an Amazon delivery driver and my route is in Suffolk. (I live in Norfolk) My route mainly brings me to the downtown area but I have some country streets I deliver to (Pitchfork Road, Murphy's Mill Road). I love it so much in Suffolk that I'm thinking of moving there. I LOVE the quiet country neighborhoods, the huge older houses, the horses, the deer, and just the over all vibe of Suffolk.
Hi, i'm thinking of buying a house in the downtown historic district just half a block from main street. Do you know if that's a high crime area? Lots of nice historic homes and right by Truitt house.
@@FolkLordll seems like when I was little going to Nansemond Pkwy Elementary in 1995, I never remember that train track at Nansemond and Wilroy being that busy like it is now. I can’t wait until they build that bridge
Been living in suffolk since I was born, it's a nice and Quiet place to live but it's about time I move towards a new city. Shout out to Suffolk Public Works who makes sure the roads are nice and clear so folks can make it to work safely!
Used to be called Nansemond County. My father was the chef at Cedar Point Country Club (1967 to 1972), which was in Crittenden. Now it is all Suffolk. We lived in Portsmouth (Quince Rd) and later Silverwood subdivision in Western Branch at the time. Remember when James River Bridge was two lanes.
Thank you for the very informative video. I will be migrating this month on june 30. I would like to ask some recommendation for Apartments preferably near sentara obici hospital. Again thanks and more power
The real con about living in downtown Suffolk is the trains and the traffic. The area is booming with new homes and the roads can't handle the new traffic . God forbid if the accident ouccers in downtown Suffolk you are stuck in a parking lot of traffic , route 58 is the same way . It happens everyday . Give me country living anyday . Harbor view traffic is even worse when people get off work
11:00 that was my old house the brown one with the white fence XD now I’m in another close by neighborhood . And riverveiw has a RIDICULOUS home owners association!!! And high fees so don’t live there unless ur a millionaire bc they will take all of your money 😅
Sam Sansalone moving from the desert Southwest to the east coast seems like an entire change of mindset to me. He grew up there and said it was great but that was long ago.. just want it to be a peaceful living experience. You videos have helped.
To be a real estate agent I don't know how you could have been any more wrong in calling suffolk the largest city (by land mass) in the state of virginia, being born and raised right on the Portsmouth Chesapeake line, Chesapeake has always prided itself at being the largest city in the state of VA !

Number 1 Con of living in Suffolk, Trains. If you live in or around Downtown, you will be waiting for long long long trains to pass.
I can vouch for this
Facts! For some reason they like to come through town between 4pm-5:30
@@kalielwebb3774 Shoot the train line along Wilroy and Nansemond runs all day and night.

You always include such interesting history of every place! I love it!
Awesome! I'm glad you like that part! It's my fav :)
As a resident of Suffolk, (Holland in particular)I can confirm
Yes!!!! So glad you said that! Thanks for the confirmation from a Holland local.
Oh snap, another Holland local here. Where do you live, Troye? I live on Kingsale road.

Woohoo!
Potholes still there

Curious to see what Amazon is doing there. Great honest pros and cons of Suffolk
Thanks, Maryann!

I think you missed your calling as a history teacher
Oh man! Why thanks. Not sure if I could endure teaching history every day of the week, but I do love dropping little nuggets.
he even looks like a history teacher (in a good way)!
Thanks for talking about my city 😊!
Where in Suffolk are you from?
@@samsansalone Central, not far from downtown.
Like the other commenter - I love the history. Thanks! Cheers, Cliff
Thanks a lot, Cliff! Glad you enjoyed it - thanks for your support. 😀

my husband wants to move back to this area..has not lived there since 1991...Im a bit nervous
Hey TJ! Why nervous? Leaving an area you're comfortable with or do you have specific concerns about Suffolk?

That is why I like Suffolk....all big ballers, , ,, no need to come...reasonable price for a average person
Definitely a lower price in general compared to the eastern side of Hampton Roads!
@@samsansalone, yes sir...I agree much.

Suffolk is one of my favorite cities
Yes!!! Thanks for watching the video, too 😀
AWESOME country side. What are home prices.?
Great vid
Thank you!
When are you going to do Newport News.
It's coming! I have a list of videos to do, this one is near the top. I haven't forgotten, I promise! Thanks for the shout-out.
I'd live in Suffolk over those other oVer Priced Areas...
I grew up in Dayle acres road. Sigh....
I know exactly where that is! Right near Shoulders Hill!
I’m pretty sure you don’t plan to move to Suffolk any time soon😂
Welllll, I wouldn't say it THAT strongly, lol. But there's definitely a reason why I'm not there. Primarily on the west side!
If you have your own small plane there's a small airplane.
Trains. Nuff said
Yes! Suffolk has some trains.
