Brazilian food is delicious, and lots of restaurants here in Brazil are self-serve, or buffet style. The quality of food here vs the price, is just an incredible value. We've been coming here nearly everyday! The lady who owns this place is super sweet. A true example of Brazilian hospitality. Check out our vlog!

I'm moving back to Brazil next month with my American husband 🇧🇷🥳🤩 and we are super excited. Anyway, if you want any tips I can help you out. @@JetLagWarriors first, there's a sushi place in São Paulo called Nori Sushi and it's the best sushi you'll ever eat, but a bit expensive and upscale. 🍣 It's nice to go every now and then.
There's a city called Natal, in Rio Grande do Norte (RN). The sand dunes are beautiful and AMAZING - and we can ride/rent 4 wheelers to have fun doing loops and donuts. Lol
From there you can catch a small plane and go to the Island of Fernando de Noronha. This Island is unbelievably amazing and there are many laws that won't allow people to take anything from nature/ocean. Scuba diving there is like a dream.
Another city you guys need to go if you like hiking in the mountains is Bonito, in Mato Grosso do Sul. The nature is almost surreal... The butterflies are the size of our hands, all different colors.
About your amazement of the Japanese population in SP, the second biggest population of Japanese is in SP (after Japan. Lol).
Brasil was never in a world war, and has become a place for refugees for many different people from different countries. I think that's why the culture is so inviting.
It's very hard to find a Brazilian person that is not "mixed". For example, my great grandparents were from Germany, France, Portugal and Poland.
If you go to the south of Brasil you will find a big population of Europeans (especially Germans) who speak English. There are many Americans who live there also. By the way, Florianópolis, in Santa Catarina is also a beautiful and fun place to go in the South of the country.
You guys are awesome! But please .. ditch Palmeiras and go Corinthians!!!!!

you seam to want to do what the locals do, so I would recommend the Estadão Bar (is near that area), the Sorveteria do Centro, (also in the Centro region), the Roosevelt Boulevard and the Consolação Church , and the Soroco Ice cream.
All these places are near to the Barão de Itapetininga, where the Nova Barão is located. you can walk from this area to Estadão, Consolação Church, Roosevelt (an stage theater/skateboard/artists/ counterculture point) at the back of the church, and walk uphill to rua Augusta , another counterculture reference in São Paulo, to have an ice cream at the Soroco, near the Augusta Park :)
The walk from the Nova Barão to Augusta Park is less than 2 km long.

I lived in that neighbourhood for a short time. Generally yes, the food in places like that in the República neighbourhood of downtown tends to be great bang for your buck. The next time you should try ordering local delicacies from the menu like Picadinho, Fígado Acebolado (liver and onions), Virado à Paulista, anything with the word 'Frango' (Chicken)... etc.

Feijoada is the most traditional dish in Brazil. It is a stew made of black beans, pork, sausage and dried meat. Usually you can have it on Wednesdays and Saturdays in different restaurants. The prices vary according to the place.
You should also try CHURRASCO, which is the name for Brazilian barbecue. Some buffets even offer it during lunch. Or you can go to a CHURRASCARIA, which is the name for a barbecue restaurant, and try different cuts of beef and other different meats.
