brilliant, really helpful Jeremy . I have judt one small problem. .. I any get that central bolt loosened. Tried a wrench on the not at the top of the engine at same time as putting a wrnceh on that damn bolt ... but all that happens is that the not on the top of the engine loosens. Any tips on how to get that central bolt loosened ... it is a normal thread isn't it ?
You can ignore the first couple steps because it sounds like you already have the top bolt loosened step 1. wedge a flat blade screwdriver in between the side of the magnet (on the side of the flywheel) and the coils of the magneto ignition itself. This should prevent the flywheel from spinning. (The Magneto coils may need to be reajusted after due to slippage). There are other ways to do this, anyway that stops the flywheel from spinning will work. IMPORTANT!! DO NOT USE THE FINS ON THE FLYWHEEL TO HOLD IT! IF THESE ARE PLASTIC (which on most honda mowers they are) THEN THEY CAN SNAP OR BREAK. METAL ONES CAN BEND AND MESS UP THE BALANCE OF THE FLYWHEEL, INHIBITING SPARK PRODUCTION. step 2. remove the fly wheel bolt. This can be tricky as the bolt can be rusted. I used lots of WD40 and I slid a 4ft section of hollow tubing onto the handle of my socket wrench to give me more leverage. Make sure to use eye protection because the screwdriver can fly out. step 3. Remove fins from flywheel. The ring that they are on should slide off. step 4. Wedge the screwdriver to hold the flywheel and with the mower on its side loosen the blade bolt. Again lots of WD40 and I needed the pipe on my wrench although i'm only 14 and someone stronger could probably do this without. Hope this helps
thanks jeremy watched your honda clutch rep vids and i repaired my hr 194 the same way replaced clutch plate £20 and bearing £1.39 working perfect now thanks BRI
I just got a Honda in and its got a simmilar setup as this one the cables are all goofed its older aluminum deck with a bagger its in my 3 mower and a tiller video any advice would be great thanks for the video
Can you explain how to get the central bolt off in the first place, given the whole thing turns,I've tried holding an opposing socket on the flywheel end,but of course the top flywheel locking nut undoes instead!thanks, Andy.

I’m working on a 9.5 Hp vanguard by B&S. Trying to pull a clutch to replace it on a small commercial chipper. Any videos that might help? It’s a comet brand clutch double belt cast iron belt drive. Tried a puller broke the cast-iron Pulley. Heated it up sprayed it with pb blaster. Let me know if you have any suggestions. Thanks
I have a honda hr214 and the blade bolts are seized I've tried an impact wrench heat breaker bar every thing that I know to do and they are still stuck u have any tips or suggestions
A blade bolt backed out and became jammed against the deck, and now the bearing is ratcheting in feel. I don’t know if the shaft is bent or not but would like to replace the outer bearing. Do you need to replace the inner bearing also at this time, and if so how to access it. I figure by replacing one or both bearings and reinstalling the blade I will be able to know if shaft is bent unless you have a better way of doing it. I bought it new in 86 and otherwise in great shape. Needless to say I am very attached to it. Thanks very much Sent from my iPhone
A bent crank will be obvious once the spark plug is removed. If you have the same blade set up as in the vid. Get a new bolt attach it & the blade now spin it .If the cranks bent the centre of the bolt will appear to rise on one side .If however the bolt stays centered then your good to go .Even a small amount of wobble will be ok but only a mm or so .Too much will wear the crank & seal out
Thank you for all the valuable informational vids! You helped me with the carb and drive. I have a HRC216KHXA and I'm having I trouble finding parts for this model. When I search for this model I can only find similar models like HRC216K (1)(2)or(3) HXA. Wanted to see if you have recommendations. Thanks!
ElliottLawnService pay attention and look when you push the yellow button down the hook engages a round Metal pin. The plastic hook is Worn out where it makes contact with the pin. Seen It many times
I'm sure I have the same problem. Almost coughed up a lung mowing today. Hit the clutch engagement bar and nada. Had to push the bastard. I have model: HRR216K10VKAA. Haven't got into it yet but I'm assuming it's the same repair as this mower. Can anyone confirm?
And i suppose if you havnt got a puller, putting a plate of metal between the center bolt head and the blade would allow you to hand tighten the two bolts to possibly help removal :-) That clutch was really shot, deader than a do do.
I have a honda HRB215 and the blade bolts are seized I've tried an impact wrench heat breaker bar every thing that I know to do and they are still stuck u have any tips or suggestions
