Is the tune adjustable from the instrument cluster ? My seadoo jet ski feels the same under economy mode delayed acceleration don’t feel in control but put it to sport tune and it feels like you have complete control.
A $15,000 sled should come standard with helmet power jack and accessory power outlet like they did in 2016. Other than that it is a stellar sled. Jan 16th thru March 30 I put on 2700 miles my first season now I am close to 3700 miles.
I'm torn between that enduro 900 ace and the yamaha viper.im leaning towards the ski doo just for that ice ripper track, yamaha doesn't offer it.whats your opinion?
Both these sleds were on my short list and after visiting with a dealer that sells both Yamaha and Skidoo, I went with the Renegade Enduro. Salesman stated "the biggest problem with the Viper is that it hasn't been updated for a very long time and it is much heavier. I went with the 600R motor in a Scandinavian Blue 2022. The biggest reason I chose the 600R was the weight advantage and the reliability of the ETEC motor.
Besides the mapping issues/ delay. When your riding at speed in a corner and it’s a bit whooped out the throttle will move. It’s kinda just annoying having to readjust the throttle position while turning and squeezing the throttle. They should tighten the throttle in one position and have the ski doo tool if you want to reposition it.
I have a 2009 ski doo renegade etec 600. It has 10,600 miles on it different engine because it blew up on us twice last season, but the track is the original one. There is a little fraying on the sides of the track but that’s it. That really good for ski doo tracks, there are no lugs missing at all

Yamaha hits like a 2 stroke oooooooooo you got to love that 4 stroke torque man turbo spiritual experience that's on the yammie. Doo has along ways to go to get in yammies league. Doo's your thing great you can't compare the two. I see that a lot with doo riders..
Buddy of mine wrote off a 900 this winter. He was trying his uncles brand new sled and the throttle was in the finger position. When he hit the throttle it was was delayed then took off and he couldn't let off because he was trying to hang on. Ended up in the trees.
Mitch Adey accidents are very common when people “try” someone’s recreational vehicle. Plus the throttle was reversed! I’ve tried out 10 different sleds in one afternoon, didn’t crash but obviously noticed some major differences. Turbo, non turbo, 4 stroke, 2 stroke, world’s fastest, two ups, short track, long track, 600 vs 800. Swapped with my buddy on every loop. The real moral of the story is to familiarize yourself in a wide open space! Having the throttle in the reversed position taught a couple somebodies a lesson too!
@@sportscar-network I don't think so mine 2021 still there but I have no issue with it. First couple rides felt a little strange but now I don't even notice it. Just a hint if you are blipping the throttle from flat idle you will feel it a bit. I just try to not let the throttle return to flat off position. That is when I feel it the most so I just never let it all the way out unless I am stopping. Just me I don't think its a big deal but yes I would rather a cable.
Skidoo should be able to reprogram the tbw to operate exactly like a cable system. A bit of programming should solve these issues. I'm sure they're listening!
Try 10 thousand a year. Bearing will go around 6000 miles... Speedo bearing was a pain to change. These new sleds are not easy to work on at home. Everything is so compact!
They should be able to fix that throttle lag. What you showed looks exactly like any older ACE I've ridden. You get used to it, but yeah what a fail on a performance engine. Not quite as bad as the lag on my EcoDiesel at work. If they can't fix it relegate ITC to the NA ACEs. Go back to cable like you said. ITC is useful, but not a laggy one on a turbo sled.
Tyler I know a few guys who have done it in a day. I sled out of Katrine and the guys that do it leave before sunup and usually take the rivers and lakes in some spots
Don Olypopper the throttle lag and the fact that it can move around caused it to get caught on his glove when he was going around a corner causing him so speed up and not be able to make it around the corner lucky he was able to stop and only ran over some small bushes
I have Renegade 900 Ace, cant stand the Throttle the I crashed three times because of it , gave sled to my son to Ride, he does much better with it then I do , I cant ride it ....
Not trying to be a dink but don't blame you're crashing on the throttle. Well it is the throttle because you were giving it more than you're ability could handle. Look I don't love it and it took some getting use to but never came close to causing a crash and we ride em hard. Be safe and have fun.
@@barefootbob1269 , was not pushing it (trying to go fast), why I crashed has to do with 2 things, the throttle size/location and the fact there is no resistance, this can and did cause issues in unexcepted situations.. even just idling there has been issues with it ,,, example my wife accidently back into throttle and sent sled flying..lol again due to no resistance .... For sure not for me... Only reason I keep it is because my son does ok with the sled... Sled I am referring to is a 2015 Renegade Adrenaline 900 Ace. Sled is not for me.. I dislike throttle setup very much would never get it for myself...
@@charlespalmerii4299 I have to admit I would ilke more resistance on the lever but I never had it cause and issue but then again I am not married lol. Maybe they will fix in 2022. My dealer just got in a 2022 renegade 600 so new ones are starting to arrive.
That Throttle is Junk! Agree!! Go back to a cable. There are times when you need that 100th tenth a millisecond to lift the skis and jump over some open water.
Terry Good Different belts have different lives. I mean I have had belts that last less than 500 miles and I’ve also had one that last over 6k all depends on how they are made and how they are used.

Looks like they finally listened to you about the drive by wire with a cable for 2022. I completely agree BTW.
My XRS Renegade 900 was updated by SkiDoo this spring. They replaced some parts and remapped the ECU and it made a world of difference

lol I agree. I wrapped some electrical tape around bars and wire really close to lever. Not a total fix but keeps it much more stable.
Has the throttle gotten any better? You did say it was a prototype........ just wondering.

A tune fixes the throttle lag. Mine was updated and it’s much better but a tune from Precision is the answer for fixing it.
Don't like what I've heard about those fly by wire throttles...one of the reasons I opted out of the Renegade 900 turbo XRS.
Has this been improved at all on the 2020 or 2021 Ace Turbos?

Surprised that BRP doesn't include a bunch of Linq storage accessories for you to evaluate.

I put that mileage on a 2005 T660 turbo touring last year.... personal best was 8605 km in one season.

Electric throttles are just a calibration but adding a turbo makes things a bit more challenging.

I live in Maine, I’m 15 and I ride 3500+ miles every year
If 4,000 km a year is 3 or 4 years of riding why even bother with a sled? I don’t know anyone who puts such few miles on.

Not sure why you think 4K on a belt is good. 8500 on my 17 800 Poo, still good. And I don’t ride like your granny.
