Hi Fraser - I go into more detail about the process in this video th-cam.com/video/u1yKncIE9eI/w-d-xo.html. Since Vyond doesn't include interactive elements, you'll need to use other tools to add buttons and branching.
Great video, Kimberly. Agreed, Vyond and Storyline are a powerful combination with almost endless possibilities. We went down the custom illustrated and after effects route, in hindsight, should have definitely stuck with Vyond...
I really appreciate that, Heimo! I've worked with custom illustrators too - and while it has some benefits, Vyond is so much faster. Over the past few days, I've been experimenting with Vyond for TH-cam Shorts. It's quick to go from concept to working model.
Helpful video! I was looking into the pricing structures. Since I'm a newbie to ID, I don't want to spend too much. I'd like to just get the essential subscription, however I'm concerned about the watermark. Do employers hold the watermark against the applicant? Or they don't care? Thanks.
Thanks, Norbert! The Vyond watermark is in the lower left corner, so it isn't too obtrusive. Personally, I don't think an employer will care if this is just a video you've created for your portfolio. The content of the video is more important, because that's what shows off your skill. The only way to remove the watermark is to upgrade to a Premium plan (they offer a monthly plan if you only need it for a few months). BTW, you now have access to the Contemporary Characters as well as the Business Friendly characters, even with the Essential plan so it's a pretty good deal. Hi there. I'm using vyond to create an explainer video. I'm using a contemporary character. I gave him a greeting action to wave, but I don't know how to make him stop waving...lol. can u help me?
Sure, just add a new scene after the one where they're waving, and choose "continue scene". All actions from the previous scene will stop, and then you can have them do a different action like "standing" or "talking".
Only Vyond characters and styles are available in the Vyond platform. You could try customizing a character to make it look more like Cailou, but to achieve the full effect, you'd probably need to create hand-drawn animation.
Hey Kimberly! I have been studying your videos for a while now. I am curious, do you know if Vyond has a limit to how many videos you can make or export? Considering that you'll probably be making a lot.
Thanks so much, @Married to English! One of Vyond's benefits is there's no limit on number of videos or exports. However the Essential Plan will put a watermark in the lower left corner, and limits you to 720p resolution for your exports. It looks like they recently changed the Premium plan to include contemporary characters too! If you're thinking of getting Vyond and would like a 10% discount, you can use this link: www.theinteractivestory.com/elearning-resources/#discounts
@@KimberlyGoh I'll for sure be using that. They allow for resell too? I want to use Vyond and Camtasia per your suggestion to create online English courses. Looks like I should take a look at the premium plan then. Thank you for all your help and advice.
@@remtestimonials If you're planning to resell to other people/companies, Vyond asks you to pay $99 per video, to transfer the rights. They also have a production partner program to cover that cost if you sell a lot of courses. Since I'm a freelancer, the way I handle this is I produce one single video per project and transfer the rights to my client when the project is complete. Here is Vyond's policy www.vyond.com/rights-transfer/
@@remtestimonials BTW, I think if you simply publish your courses on your own website and sell the right to access them (through a membership or subscription) you probably don't have to transfer the video rights or pay the transfer fee. That might be a more economical way to go, since then you're really producing the videos for the benefit of your own company.
Thanks Wendy! I have a series of Camtasia and Vyond tutorials that do a lot more in-depth teaching. Here's a link to one on using Camtasia to add interactivity to Vyond th-cam.com/video/Kz5NEqb7oW0/w-d-xo.html and here's on on working with Vyond characters. Hope that helps! th-cam.com/video/5FDnfJDkUkY/w-d-xo.html
That would be so cool, Kathie! Unfortunately, Vyond doesn't have that ability (yet). The best I could do is to import a few still images taken from a live photo and use them in the background of a Vyond video. I'm looking forward to the day when technology catches up to our imagination! 😀
Great video. I can't believe you said "JIF" though. I know the creator liked his JIF peanut butter, but still, haven't heard anyone actually say "JIF" for 10+ years. GIFT is the closest word to GIF so hard "g" gif...GIF. lol.
Hey Pedro! Thanks for checking out the video. I agree that Business Friendly style of Vyond characters does look very "cartoony". Vyond has another style called "Contemporary" that's more modern and sophisticated. If you'd like to see those characters, check out this video (start at timestamp 1:23) th-cam.com/video/8vbplHDIV8s/w-d-xo.html

@KimberlyGoh awesome! thank you!

Sorry, but this is NOT a tutorial. It's a sales pitch. Please don't use the word 'tutorial' if it isn't.

LOL! The great debate continues. I did think about that before I said it, but decided to go with the original creator's wishes 😄
Nice
Thanks so much Carlson! 😀

I had to slow her speed, it’s as if she’s talking faster than Usain bolt running. Great video 👍🏾
Thanks so much, @Anne-Marie Bond! Sorry about the speed - some people like the fast pace on TH-cam videos. Glad you've got a way to slow it down! 😄
@@KimberlyGoh yup didn’t mean to come across rude x
@@spiritualstars No problem 😀 I actually do talk pretty fast most of the time and it might be good to slow down once in a while !
to be honest it is so childish.
