You're absolutely right, Tommy - I thought it was cool and freaky too, even as I made the video. Especially when I saw myself speaking Spanish and Italian. 😊Thanks for watching!
There are many videos that video that present HeyGen. But THIS one has several insightful pluses!! It is fast, efficient and shows element I did not know yet (like labs, or integrating contact lists). Thank you !!!
Thanks for the great walkthrough, Kimberly. Two questions for you: 1. What does your recording setup look like? Do people need a "professional" studio (lighting, 4K camera, etc..) or can you just use your phone? 2. What do you recommend for audio? I noticed you uploaded your audio but what about using the native option? Is it better to use an audio-specific tool like Elevenlabs?
Thanks @benohashi9706! You can use your phone mounted on a stand, just make sure you have good lighting on your face. Natural light from a window works, or try a softbox light shining on your face (I listed my favorite light in the description under #3 "optional equipment"). I do use a cannon camera, but I'm not shooting in 4K, and it's a few years old. The phones these days have super high quality cameras, so that should work fine. I'm actually using 3 of those softbox lights in my studio setup (one on my left close to my face, one on my right further away, and one kind of behind me also on my right). No bright lights behind you at all (I'm using blackout blinds) But again, soft light on your face is most important. Great question about the audio! If you're close enough to your phone, the audio quality might be good enough. If not, try Elevenlabs, or if you want to boost the quality, maybe a wireless mic like the one listed under #3. (I decided to upload audio for this demo, but personally, I think Elevenlabs has great quality too). Thanks for the excellent questions!
Thanks! If you're doing a motion avatar, you simply walk around to different place. For a non-motion avatar, I believe you can change the background if you have a Teams Plan. Here's a help article about that help.heygen.com/en/articles/9778234-how-to-remove-the-background-of-an-instant-avatar
Fabulous tutorial video, Kimberly!! Thanks for introducing me to this new platform. When I tested out the Clone Generator by video recording myself reading a script, my eyes wandered away from the camera. Do you have any tips or tricks to not appear as though you're reading from a script for either the HeyGen tool, or just recording videos for TH-cam in general?
@@lindabrigante4173 Thanks so much! One of the best ways to do that is to not use a script at all. Just look directly at the camera and talk to it as though you were talking to a person. Many creators have a list of bullet points for topic they want to cover, and look off camera only when referring to that list. Then you can edit out those portions of the video with video editing software later. It takes a bit of practice to use this approach, but I have no doubt you can do it, as you have such great presence both on and off camera 😊
@@termanviktoria8955 Yes, just choose "photo avatar", then upload your own photo to be animated. On the free plan, you can create up to 5 photo avatars 👉 bit.ly/heygenfree
I'm not exactly sure what you mean by Pictory's video, but any jpg or png image of a person (or creature) can be used as a photo avatar. Probably it works best if they're directly facing the camera
Hi Kimberly. Thanks for the great content. A question, I was reading a thread on HeyGen avatars and someone said that the ai clone as you have used here simply loops every 10 seconds. They said it isn't a single continuous clip that changes through the length but just a repetitive loop. Can you clarify if that is correct based on your trial please?
Hi @DarrenSalty! That’s a great question. I think that may be true for the motion avatars which can be filmed while walking and includes the background changes. The trick might be to have a longer original film footage so the repetition isn’t noticeable. For stationary avatars, I didn’t notice repetition, but you might want to test that out too. In any case, a longer sample footage might help (I think the max might be 5 minutes).
Great video! To be clear: 1. I can use this with an avatar based upon a client (presumably reading that disclaimer)? 2. I can use streaming avatars to respond to live user queries? A. Can that streaming avatar be a client’s avatar? B. What format does a “knowledge base” have to be in? That’s a pretty vague term. Thanks!
Thanks! Here are my answers (but I'd recommend checking with HeyGen support for confirmation on these points) 1) Yes, as long as the client reads the disclaimer and passcode for you, you should be able to create an avatar of them. Last time I checked, the system did validation based on a statement read into a webcam, so you may need to be with the client, or let them log into your account to do it. 2) The streaming avatars are currently in Beta test (see "Integrations" which was formerly called "Labs" in the lower left corner). Try out the demo with the CEO Joshu's avatar to see how it works. It looks you could use a client avatar as streaming avatar, and the idea is that it can be used to answer live queries. I believe there's an additional cost for this service, and I agree knowledge base it kind of vague, so check with HeyGen support for more details. Hi @@kenmiller7174! If you’re asking if you can use something you create with HeyGen yourself, you can totally do that. You have the rights to use a clone of yourself in any videos you create with HeyGen. (I’m not sure if you’re asking if you can use my TH-cam video in your company video. In that case, probably not, although you’re welcome to share the YT video link) 😊
hello Kim. I see that your Heygen video has realistic voices, how cone you can do that? Please show us❤ Apart from uploading your video, do you have another way to make your video sound is so realistic and warm like that? Thank you!
@@timelesstruthstolovelife When you create a clone as shown in this video, it automatically clones your voice too. Many people simply use the cloned voice, because it’s pretty good quality. But I wanted to add more warmth to my voice, so when I used my clone to create as new video, you’ll notice I uploaded an audio file instead of simply typing a script. I recorded that audio file with my microphone, but you can also record yourself speaking on your phone’s voice recorder app. Then when the clone talks it’s using your real voice, not a cloned copy.
@@KimberlyGoh ooh that's why. Thank you so much, Kim. But if you do like that, it will take more time than just simply using cloned voice, is that true?
@@timelesstruthstolovelife Yes, that's true - you need to create an audio recording, then upload the file. But it's not very hard if you read from a script (which you'd have to write anyways, even if you use the cloned voice to speak it :)
HeyGen just updated the pricing plans: now you can create 3 videos up to 3 minutes long on the free plan. If you upgrade to the Creator plan, you can create UNLIMITED videos up to 5 minutes long, and on the Teams plan, videos can be 30 minutes long.

Yes! If you click on the clone of yourself, you can "add a new look". That can be you wearing a different outfit, or using a different camera angle, or new background. (currently they allow 100 looks per instant avatar on the free plan)
@@leongkahwai5273 yes when you create a clone, the person can speak in any language. Later when you’re using a script to make the clone talk, choose the translate button and change the output language as needed.
Please read the terms with ai. Many of these companies have the rights to use your likeness and voice!!! From what I just read on their site, HeyGen terms say I would own my voice and likeness but they have the right to use it. That’s how I read it. Let me know if I’m wrong. I can’t go with that.
Hi @grandma-r22-qy9gh! According to HeyGen, the only person who has the right to use your avatar is you (that is why you record a consent video and secure passcode when you create an avatar).
