You have the rights to use a clone of yourself in any videos you create with HeyGen. (I’m not sure if you’re asking if you can use my TH-cam video in your company video. Hi @DarrenSalty! That’s a great question. I think that may be true for the motion avatars which can be filmed while walking and includes the background changes. The trick might be to have a longer original film footage so the repetition isn’t noticeable. For stationary avatars, I didn’t notice repetition, but you might want to test that out too. In any case, a longer sample footage might help (I think the max might be 5 minutes).

Thanks @benohashi9706! You can use your phone mounted on a stand, just make sure you have good lighting on your face. Natural light from a window works, or try a softbox light shining on your face (I listed my favorite light in the description under #3 "optional equipment"). I do use a cannon camera, but I'm not shooting in 4K, and it's a few years old. The phones these days have super high quality cameras, so that should work fine. I'm actually using 3 of those softbox lights in my studio setup (one on my left close to my face, one on my right further away, and one kind of behind me also on my right). No bright lights behind you at all (I'm using blackout blinds) But again, soft light on your face is most important. Great question about the audio! If you're close enough to your phone, the audio quality might be good enough. If not, try Elevenlabs, or if you want to boost the quality, maybe a wireless mic like the one listed under #3. (I decided to upload audio for this demo, but personally, I think Elevenlabs has great quality too). Thanks for the excellent questions!

Also, on the free plan, you can now create different looks for your instant avatar, with different poses clothing etc (they talk about this in the LinkedIn webinar). Or to delete the instant avatar and start over, click the 3 dots in the upper right corner of the instant avatar's picture.

However, my main concerns remain: the long rendering times, inconsistent voice quality, and the lack of emotional expression in avatars really impact the tool’s usability for professional projects. These limitations, combined with the slow support response, have made it challenging to rely on HeyGen for timely and high-quality content creation. While I appreciate the improvements, I hope future updates address these critical areas, as they significantly affect user experience and overall satisfaction with the tool.

@@timelesstruthstolovelife When you create a clone as shown in this video, it automatically clones your voice too. Many people simply use the cloned voice, because it’s pretty good quality. But I wanted to add more warmth to my voice, so when I used my clone to create as new video, you’ll notice I uploaded an audio file instead of simply typing a script. I recorded that audio file with my microphone, but you can also record yourself speaking on your phone’s voice recorder app. Then when the clone talks it’s using your real voice, not a cloned copy.

@@timelesstruthstolovelife Yes, that's true - you need to create an audio recording, then upload the file. But it's not very hard if you read from a script (which you'd have to write anyways, even if you use the cloned voice to speak it :)

HeyGen just updated the pricing plans: now you can create 3 videos up to 3 minutes long on the free plan. If you upgrade to the Creator plan, you can create UNLIMITED videos up to 5 minutes long, and on the Teams plan, videos can be 30 minutes long.

To record a dialogue with different sounding voices, you'll need to create the lines for each character separately using two different voices. Then download the audio files so you can edit hem together using any editing software like Audacity or Camtasia.

Hi @TheMsswiss! Do you mean how highlights automatically appear on the screen when converting an article or blog to video (timestamp 1:06)? Or are you asking about a different feature?

Yes once you create a voice, you can use it in many audio creations.

What you see in the video is my real office area, where I shoot all of my TH-cam videos. No virtual or green screen effect was needed. A real background will probably work best for any clone sample video.

Only Vyond characters and styles are available in the Vyond platform. You could try customizing a character to make it look more like Cailou, but to achieve the full effect, you'd probably need to create hand-drawn animation.

@@KimberlyGoh Thanks. It's hard building a portfolio when you can't afford most of the industry standard LMS programs and have to create something during the free trail. I've been teaching "mostly English" for nearly ten years now "college level" and just now shifting towards instructional design. I can't stand getting a job as an adjunct instructor and the curriculum is already built and you can't change anything. My education is a M.A in English Lit, so I'm teaching myself all the industry standards, Articulate, Absorb, Captivate.... Honestly I wish I could just stick to making videos, interactive PowerPoints and E-Learning video games and not bother with anything else.

@@LukeHuntley I hear you on that - I wish those free trials lasted longer and that these tools weren't so expensive. You also might also want to check out Genially as they've got free plan that doesn't expire, and it has branching capabilities.

@@leongkahwai5273 yes when you create a clone, the person can speak in any language. Later when you’re using a script to make the clone talk, choose the translate button and change the output language as needed.

Try adding a shape, and choose "Action Buttons", which I think is toward the bottom of the list. Choose the one called "Action Button Blank" (looks like a blank square). @@lindabrigante4173 Thanks so much! One of the best ways to do that is to not use a script at all. Just look directly at the camera and talk to it as though you were talking to a person. Many creators have a list of bullet points for topic they want to cover, and look off camera only when referring to that list. Then you can edit out those portions of the video with video editing software later. It takes a bit of practice to use this approach, but I have no doubt you can do it, as you have such great presence both on and off camera 😊
