Total boredom? Where the hell were you people when DOOM came out 3 years ago? Why does that game get a pass when it's MORE linear and repetitive than this one? Thankfully both games know exactly what they want to be -- mindless, explosive shooting fun. That's all they marketed the game as and it's a damn good one.
Dude i read A BUNCH of bad reviews for this game and as someone that was very excited and very disappointed with the first one I was BLOWN AWAY to buy a copy of Rage 2 for 6 bucks and it was ONE OF THE BEST SHOOTERS I HAVE PLAYED.
Found out about Rage 2 5 days before it released, checked some gameplay and pre-ordered (I know, BAD!). But I've been enjoying it so much, the gameplay is so great and car combat is also quite fun. Best impulse buy yet.
I think having to spend so much time hunting down the abilities made it wear out it’s welcome for me. I remember just wanting to finish it. The abilities should have been immediately available and then the Arcs could have given you upgrade options. I’m also not a constant “fast pace” kinda guy. It’s exhausting lol.
I've honestly had several moments already were I literally stopped and thought to myself, holy shit that was fun. I'm 30 I have not said that to myself often past the age of 10. Also one issue, I've been encountering a lot of sound bugs (playing on PC) sometimes voices cut out or sounds repeat on a loop. I've had to close the game a couple times due to annoyance but it fixes itself on reboot at least.
Commenting again because I've just played it for a few hours; I get what Jake says in this vid, the dialogue is mildly entertaining but just feels ... off. Like they go for Borderlands humour but still try to be serious sometimes and the dialogue really feels like the story is in the way of the gameplay. The gameplay is very Doom and I agree with Jake's take on it. The movement feels a little stiffer than some of the more fluid fps', but the variety of enemies, gadgets, guns, abilities and SUPER satisfying explosions totally make up for it. So far it's 2/5 story but 4.5/5 gameplay. I recommend it (on Hard mode especially) if you like tooth-and-nail combat that gets your heart racing when up against craftier and dangerous enemies.
I've already put about nine hours on this game and I've yet to find anything about it that resembles Call of Duty. Which is a good thing really, because Call of Duty has no business in open world wasteland combat.
I liked that this review actually gave a recommendation for what difficulty to play on.. Instead of quoting some general guidelines that don't help much :D
Done with the game after a 10 hour session and I do have to agree with the Hard difficulty because I was also playing on normal and it felt too easy but overall a great game recommend strongly

Nothing too special... but just mindless fun, as you said.
I definitely got Mad Max vibes from this too. That game so so incredibly underrated!
Mad max was one of the best games I have ever played
Jonah Steenbergh what do you mean by more costly?
@@hovis_esports well mad max is cheaper
Soda in a Plastic Bottle “you must bad taste as I am the arbiter of opinions”
Been playing it since release and I can honestly say it's the most fun I've had in a very long time. Worth the money twice over
I now want to play this game thanks to this review! Thanks for pointing it out Gameranx
Avalanche games makes amazing open world gameplay but always fails at making the world lively.
Name a open world game that has lively world
@@KABLAMMATS rdr2

KAB LAMMATS always thought nier automata was a great example of lively open world games. It’s constantly changing with the story and isn’t always used as an expanse between you and your objective.
@@KABLAMMATS GTA 4, GTA 5, Watchdogs 2(kinda),Infamous Second Son(kinda) .
This is absolutely a buy for me. Although, I would've really liked to have seen more cleft palates in the game.
Let's see how many people pick up on that reference....lol
😂
Who?
@Sad but True lol she also goes to college
Brandon Campbell I still can’t get over how absolutely ridiculous that article was. Damn that ‘journalist’ is a complete snowflake. All he really wanted was to spark a bit of controversy and get more views.
I’ve finished it already and I absolutely love this and the first one, definitely love the firestorm revolver. With upgraded vortex ability I shoot 4-5 firestorm shots at the ground then vortex them all towards it and they just float in the air and burn. Amazing
Very happy with this purchase so far. FOV slider was really nice addition. The graphics look great and gameplay has been a lot of fun.
Respect Jake! I fought alongside him in Vietnam.
Go home gi.

Thank you for doing this fast. I didn't know if I should get or not
Gunplay feels bad, compared to Doom. And the performance is horrible. Check Steam reviews. I remember when gameranx was objective, this review feels like they have been paid.
@Kazoushi It's sad, gamranx also became bitch of the game publishers. Looks like ACG is the only objective yt channel these days.
@@klarnorbert enjoys a game means being paid off now? If you don't like it fine but don't crap on people that do like the game and it's funny you mentioned ACG because he liked it too
@@theolddarksoul1129 I thought this is a game review. Those are supposed be objective. You know what that means, no?
@@klarnorbert Its like you've never listened to the first few words he says in the intro. You're in the wrong place bud, but hey, it's okay to be wrong.
I loved playing RAGE, so much so I insisted on buying the anarchy edition. I look forward to playing this game!
I did buy Anarchy edition to... and love it...
I like this guy's review a lot. He's really fair and positive, and his criticisms aren't hyperbolic and nitpicky. It doesn't feel like hate when he doesn't like something, and it pumps me up to hear him get excited about the stuff he likes.
That rifle you used looks like the Hammerburst from Gears of War
Been waiting for this video. Definitely gonna pick this one up. I'm one of the few who really liked Rage 1
@Sad but True I can totally see where you're coming from. I always felt like it was intentional so I just went with it. Must have played through it 3 or 4 times cause the gunplay was just so smooth
Rage 1 was one of my favorite game of all time tbh
I was happy to see a conclusion to the story and to see the references to the last game but I love the updated guns and powers. The only thing I hate not having is the crossbow Dan Hagar (John Goodman) gives you from the first game
I wanted a Rage 2 ever since Rage 1 ended! Can't wait to play it! The first one is so underrated!
Can't believe this ones already 4 years old. Never did get around to playing it
It's lit af! Especially after you upgrade your suit and weapons, and unlock several powers and vehicles. It could take between three to twenty hours to unlock enough stuff though- depending on how much of a speed demon one plays like.
*They say the game is all the rage*

What about the spider bots???

I really enjoyed gameranx review. it's not as superficial as IGN and not in-depth as ACG (I really love karak review but sometimes it's too long that I just stopped watching halfway). The duration just nice. Keep up the good work gameranx !
You know he doesn't finish a large portion of the games he reviews right
Mohd Hazim this game really make u feel like you are raging 😤
I am so pleased with this game, so much to do, action packed, and i suggest everyone try this one out!!
I would’ve never gotten to experience this game if my friend didn’t just come by my house, randomly give me rage 2, and walk off.
This fr? 😂
This video was missing a “Tea with honey and lemon, and chicken soup’s on me” at the end :p
Get well Jake! Super determination shown when doing this bits in spite of being sick.
I bought it 2 days after release and I'm enjoying the open world.. I've played about 4 hrs and havent even done a main mission... just going around taking out enemy bases
This review sums up the game perfectly
"Mindless fun, nothing more, nothing less"
People be putting this game in a bad light for having a bad story but I just love the fast paced shoot, melee, the blood and guts
Bought it without hesitation and I do not regret it! Having fun making walkthroughs. I'm barely completing the third mission too. This game is like Doom and Madmax had a baby with Saints Row 3 humor. Love it.
Nice to see people say good things about the game because the game rules. I loved every single minute of it especially the combat
Possibly the best combat I've played in a fps games..the game obviously has its problems..story wise ect..but.. it's just so damn fun..it cancels out the negatives for me
I describe it as almost a doom light in terms of difficulty but it still has the movement and gunfeel
I fucking love this game it's fun as hell and I can't stop playing
@Sad but True lmao
@Sad but True You are the dumbass here because you cant have your own opinion
Lmao

seriously, BUY this game already
*DO NOT listen to this guy* and any other biased reviews The game is a total boredom, empty openworld, repetitive, and microtransition. *DO NOT* this game right now wait when is under 20 bucks
This game is fucking fun as hell.
@@briwashereee I just dont think its your type of game buddy, iffy at first but its a really fun solid game.
@@briwashereee *micro-transaction
the MTX are literally 3 sets of weapon skins that you can buy. That is it. Unless you're REALLY bothered by having the *option* to purchase a little cosmetic item being present, there is zero game content being held back or locked away from you.
And 'repetitive'? Total boredom? Where the hell were you people when DOOM came out 3 years ago? Why does that game get a pass when it's MORE linear and repetitive than this one?
Thankfully both games know exactly what they want to be -- mindless, explosive shooting fun. That's all they marketed the game as and it's a damn good one.
@@alphaxbox3728 this indeed is my type of game, but it's disappointed and doesn't worth the price that it's currently.
I got it the day after and it was one of my proudest purchases. The shooting and humor of it is amazing. This has already became one of my fav games
I played about 30 mins before work today, but I enjoyed what I played. Looking forward to my days off so I can really hit it
Nyrax Arillo dude you’re gonna love it once you really get the chance to sit down and play a few hours.
The beginning is actually the weakest part, gameplay and graphics wise.
You're in for a ride my friend:)
Avalanche really doesn't do story or lively open worlds well but good to see id software did good with the shooty shooty fun times
Hope they fix that one game no one talks about anymore
Found out about Rage 2 5 days before it released, checked some gameplay and pre-ordered (I know, BAD!).
But I've been enjoying it so much, the gameplay is so great and car combat is also quite fun.
Best impulse buy yet.
Love this channel. Before you buy is a great series... It's the most reliable reviews for video games on the internet. Seriously
@Allah- A ok
@Allah- A Oh hell naw, wtf do you watch dude, why do you got a video with a old man without a shirt in the thumbnail.
@Allah- A Why would I get triggered over something a stranger said? I just felt like checking out ur channel which has weird stuff on it.
@Allah- A what do you find so bad about it?
Lol Gotta keep them trolls fed
Commenting again because I've just played it for a few hours;
I get what Jake says in this vid, the dialogue is mildly entertaining but just feels ...
I like that. Dmc5 story was horrible, but wonderful gameplay
Should've added first person driving. If I was playing an fps, driving in tpv would take me out of it.
Then dont buy the game, its not for you
I just searched a bunch of games on my list and you had a video for every each one and helped me decide which one to buy😂
The races are fun af. Love the carnage of fighting as well. Been playing it for about 10 hours and loved every second of it! 10/10
So, this is like a love child of Doom 2016, Just Cause 4, Borderlands, and Call of Duty? Count me in!
I've already put about nine hours on this game and I've yet to find anything about it that resembles Call of Duty. Which is a good thing really, because Call of Duty has no business in open world wasteland combat.
"RAGE" was a great game. Glad to see the second one is also a great game too.
Holy shit, I always had this apocalyptic game inside my head that I remembered, But I didn’t know it was Rage until after I got Rage 2
I liked that this review actually gave a recommendation for what difficulty to play on.. Instead of quoting some general guidelines that don't help much :D
Dude wtf the first Rage was AMAZING
It’s kinds look like far cry mixes doom bulletstorm very epic second colourful beautiful post-apocalyptic world ever etc
I'm having a blast with this game but would love the option of 4k hdr. Big thumbs up from me 👍
Done with the game after a 10 hour session and I do have to agree with the Hard difficulty because I was also playing on normal and it felt too easy but overall a great game recommend strongly
you guys are the last gaming channel with any integrity. it's appreciated. I love you guys. congrats on the subs. if anyone deserves the attention it's you guys.
This game is so much fun. I played through it a dozen tines during quarantine.
Game pass brought me here and I really enjoy this game. I enjoyed the first one but I didn’t buy it from the jump. Wanted to get it used. Now this one is really good. Had me playing for days and it’s really enjoyable. This game is a must play. I’ve played 2k and there are worst games out here. This is actually have personality
Have u had any issues with the game freezing on the vehicle menu? I'm also on Xbox I've seen alot of people having this very issue including myself and its annoying I can't pimp my ride
Yess but I have a buy pass for it. When you get to the vehicle menu. Go to which one you want in a hurry. Like quick af, pick it and leave. Don’t sit around or it will freeze
A little Bulletstorm vibes here and there.
Absolutely loving this game so far. The combat feels so damn good and fluid.
Jim Sterling is a genius. He found the game this most closely resembles and said "It IS that game!" What a poet.
Thanks mate. I got the game after watching this review. WOW just WOW... one of the most underrated games out there. it is a 9/10 game
