Maraming salamat, Erwan and Team FEATR!
-Caviteños ♥
My family comes from Cavite City and Imus and I’ve always loved my mom’s home cooking growing up. This brings back childhood memories and I really love videos like these that help to preserve Filipino culture and culinary history. Thank you so much!
Never thought Cavite, from where I am, is very rich in culinary food. Thanks for this documentary! More power!
This documentary brought tears to my eyes, perhaps because my father’s ancestors have roots in Cavite and the food and culture resonate deeply with me. Thank you for your thoughtful and respectful approach as always. And for the treat of hearing your pronunciation of the French word “terroir.” ❤️ I completely agree that Filipino food grown and prepared in the Mother Land tastes very special compared to the same recipes cooked in other lands. It’s all delicious, but food in the homeland is its own unique thing. Even the pan de sal can’t be perfectly duplicated. Bless you and your team, Erwan!
My great grandmother was an excellent cook. Since I was the primera bisnieta, I was the apple of her eyes and was fed with the best. My lola Maria told me that Spanish recipes were only copied through taste while the Japanese commisioned cooks and taught them how to cook their food. American food, she said is simple. I have sanitized their words in describing the 3 colonial experiences.
There are so many heirloom recipes that was lost. I wish I have them. I can only recreate my childhood gastronomical experience through memory. You videos remind me of those lost recipes. Thank you.
EYY CAVITE FOOD SERIES! PROUD TO BE CAVITEÑA! THANK YOU SO MUCH FEATR FOR FEATURING OUR FOOD AND CULTURE! KUDOS TO THE WHOLE TEAM! GOD BLESS YOU ALL! MORE POWER! ❤🎉😮
Love all the stories featured, to name a few the ensaimada, muscovado sugar making, the Aguinaldo shrine part. It's very inspiring. Halo-halo looks delicious 😋. Great video content 👌
WOW! What an amazing documentary.
You shared so much of amazing views , culture and tradition of one's place.
Amazing video presentation.
This is one of the most interesting ones I've watched on Featr. Such a treat! I've traveled the world, and have gotten comments from people saying how Filipino food is sweet and unhealthy. I was young, and my only response to them was: "where have you been eating in the Philippines?!" But I didn't have enough knowledge to back up my response because all I knew was my own family's cooking. Thank you to Erwan and everyone involved in Featr. I am learning so much about our own culinary history. Now my appreciation for the Filipino culture and cuisine has elevated, from the local carenderias to family-owned restaurants keeping legacies. I am hopeful that the new generation of Filipinos will revive the old traditional ways of cooking...
Thank you for bringing me back to my hometown Cavite city as a matter of fact Arnel is my classmate in high school, thanks for all the memories specially all the foods from Cavite City foods of Caviteno are very special. Thanks önce again… watching from Chicago ❤🇺🇸🇵🇭🇺🇸🇵🇭
kudos to Abi for how she respectfully addressed the owners, using "po" and "opo", in their conversation ❤
Thank you for featuring Cavite. As a Caviteno, this made me aware that there are lots of things to explore in my hometown before exploring other places. This also opened new ideas in preserving and enriching these traditions, especially the cuisine. Thanks for making a great content!
As I remember growing in the city. Palengke is place where I started before it was burn and rebuilt. Left the place on mid 70 start new life and become successful in California. Thank you for your video it bring me back all memories where I’m from. Thank you again.
This documentary brought tears to my eyes, one of the most interesting ones I've watched on Cavite. Thanks for this documentary.
Indeed seek ye first the kingdom of God and everything will be added unto you❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤Thats the best part of this video❤❤❤❤
Great documentary!! It was so great to hear of the real stories and personal history of each dish/product/restaurant in this ensemble. Some of the dishes I have yet to try. Now really craving for ensaimada, halo-halo, valenciana, muscavado and Calendracas!!
Outstanding docu as usual, erwan. You take me to places i dont think i will be able to visit in my lifetime, and cultivate our appreciation for culture through food.bravo! God bless you. Cheers to more successes!
Food is always simple, yet full of stories. Thank you FEATR!
Yes, I love Cavite, my hometown. Miss ko na ❤️ especially mga delicious foods, yum… yum
30minutes into and I felt the rise of Filipino pride. I like the way you look into generational food business in Cavite, so much history you can never separate the food from its past. These was your best episode by far. Glorified. ☝️
Beautiful documentary! Looking forward to see more!
We are with you discovering Filipino dishes.. Thank you Erwan!!
awesome content! ang gusto ko dito walang eme si erwan. kita yung passion sa paghahanap ng iba't ibang flavor. pwede mo nga mapagkamalan lokal kasi walang eme sa katawan.
Thank you for the feature on Chabacano! As a Cavite City native I only learned to speak our dialect a few years ago and now so desperately hope it comes back to our city.
Muchisimas gracias con ustedes para este documental de niso ciudad y provincia!
Badly wanna learn this language but I don't know where to start. I grew up and am still currently living here in Tanza but I came from a Visaya lineage (Biliranon) and I can already speak some Visaya so my next target is Chabacano to honor the province I lived most of my life in. Any idea where to start?
@@wzwzwz Hello! I can send you resources to learn chabacano. But in keep in mind that it's the caviteño dialect so it's comprised of only spanish and tagalog :)
@@legoman29981hi can you also send me the resources love to learn chabacano. Is it the same chavacano in Zambaoanga?
@@legoman29981Can I also have one, please? 🙏
Thanks to this episode.... nakakatakam at nakakagutom, although napanood ko na yun nauna nyong episode sa cavite. More food to discover FEATR...👌🥰
Watching from Florida. Erwan, I'm always touched by how you share every cultures food, the way they live there lives and your respect for the people regardless of their social status. You are a very humble person and that's what God really wants us to be. I will continue watching your shows.

Maraming salamat po sa pagbabahagi
Besides Jessica Lee's Paborito Series, I found FEATR's channel interesting as it not only showcases a variety of cuisines in the area but also presents exciting facts that give richness to its culture.
I'm from Silang Cavite
All food looks very delicious 😋😋
Salt, coffee and muskuvado sugar are trade mark of Cavite. Please Gov. Remulla help these small enterprenuer, especially the salt maker and muskuvado maker. Thank you team FEATR to wake up the Caviteños new generation to continue our trade mark product. Please visit upland Cavite too. God bless. Proud Caviteña❤ Ciao
That's the original texture of ensaymada. I like it that way.
Thank you for this series that took me back to my hometown! For myself and I'm sure for a lot of people, seeing these places brought back good memories of my childhood with family and friends. Please do more of these!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you FEATR! Im getting memories of my lolo, lola at titas and titos. To add - some memories I have growing up in Salinas Cavite, where my lolo was a postman: lutong pague (stewed stingray with turmeric, lutong palaka (sautead veggies most prominently patani or lima beans also with anisado, atsuete 😊 a real favorite and trademark of caviteno food), and tocino ni mang nilo (pink and salty, not sugary tocino. Also, pancit luglog, palabok and malabon is really the same. Its not Malabon City really, but bayan ng Malabon, Cavite now called Gen Trias. Yan po talaga 🥰. Yan ang tunay na tourism program….what you guys are doing 😍 Bravo!
@@puccismile So nostalgic! I'm from Imus, Cavite. The Imus Longganisa, Mami from Plaza Canteen, kutsinta ng Toclong, dishes like the menudo with bahay guya, kilawing twalya ng baka, and also the lutong palaka! And so much more! Food is such a big part of our culture and so happy that our regional specialties are being featured in the spotlight! Would love to see this also for other provinces.
@@shepz03 yes imus longanisa and kilawin were featured by Featr too :) as well as asin ng salinas at tinapang salinas.

My father’s root is proudly from Indang Cavite . I love watching your videos especially this one because I grew up in cavite ❤ although I wish you can speak Tagalog naman when you’re eating & sharing Filipino foods w/ your host , I think it just shows more authentic way of spending your time w/ our kapwa caviteño or for your kapwa Pinoy . Thanks 😊
Sarap niyan kabayan
Thank you so much for this sir. Im from Maragondon,Cavite

Thank you for featuring our beloved province. But I’m kinda sad because you were not able to reach my hometown, Alfonso. It’s the town next to Tagaytay. We also have great dishes there and very good bibingka, putong puti and suman.
Kasilyo, Bibingkoy, Tamales💜💜💜It’s a shame I haven’t been to the new public market in Cavite City😬
All food yummy idol ❤❤❤
Gastronomy really starts in one's own home. It is not rooted in the carinderia in a baranggay but has its foundations in the home. A lot of families will whip up food that will not make it to being commercially famous, but you know that a certain family cooks superb adobo, or the most amazing menudo or calandracas distinct with that certain family. The problem there is how to immortalize the legacy of these cooking if one were to remain conscious of not letting fastfoods overtake family cooking. The tradition of family recipes should be kept alive. And one has to make the conscious effort.
When Erwan's talking feels like too serious when he talks but showing his respects to the ancestors and histories in Philippines Food .. once you start watching it feels interesting because i can share this also to my colleagues here in Kuwait asking about our Filipino food and behind the stories.
Kudos to Erwan ❣️
Thanks FEATR
Wow galing nmn nice content sending love support from Acmcadoo
I love it!! how about Paranaque next? thanks
Twice tried to come to Chefoo but it was closed. Next time will first check open days and times,
Erwan, there's a pansit palabok in a cone shape banana leaf in Tanza, Cavite. You might want to taste it. Ling-ling's
Cavite's Best ...Bravo Zulu Erwan ❤
TO GOD BE THE GLORY
Nkakagutom
Magprosiso utak ko sa englis 😅
Bravo Erwan! Loved all except for the ensaimada part where the bakery uses margarine sadly, not real butter. Margarine is a processed food, made of hydrogenated vegetable oils full of unhealthy trans fat that are known to affect health negatively and are highly inflammatory. Margarine also contains additives such as artificial colorants, emulsifiers and fillers. Perhaps you can make a video using real butter what we can follow at our home kitchen. Thank you for all your valuable (and fun) content showcasing the culinary map of the Philippines.
Can you feature the bibingkang hipon minanok at adobong mami sa Paete Laguna. I hope yung recipe ng bibingkang hipon was passed down to the next generation.
Calandracas is just another version of chicken sopas with more ingredients.
Many Sumatran/ternate shipbuilders were brought into Cavite area to help since Sumatrans/ternateans have a large ship shipbuilding traditions
God Is Good!!!!God Bless Cavite!!!how many municipalities in Cavite?Alfonso,Rosario,Noveleta,Indang,Gen. Trias,Imus,Kawit,Naic,Maragondon,Bacoor,Tanza, Cavite City,Dasmarinas,Silang,GMA,Carmona [16 total]
Thanks Team FEATR AND ERWAN
11:38 ginat-an bilo-bilo rito sa Rizal
Dang they should really fix that “Heroes Arch” sign at 16:36 🤣
walang budget naubos sa regada 😂
As a meranaw born and raised in Zamboanga City, I'm glad the local government mandated the use of "chavacano" in public enabling everyone to speak or atleast understand the dialect. Sad to see Cavite didn't preserve it.
Dahil mas mahalaga sa kabitenyo ang salitang tagalog at hindi ang salita ng dahuyan
OMG!!!
Wow 50 k thank you kuya willy may pambayad na sila sa bahay ...mga bata pa ansk nya
No wonder many ilonggos preferred to stay in Cavite. The food is very quite similar
Tira tira is my favorite and the reason why I had bad teeth growing up :D
Worst Halo-Halo we had, that old guy curses even if there are customers in his place. Na-hype na lang yan, but definitely, not recommended.
Which place?
