Basilian like this can’t and won’t be feasible for the usual tourist. You need a special type of cultural tourist (you need a guide/translator 100% of the time), with deep pockets, and who will enjoy and respect the immersive experience!
I laud how Erwan, as a presenter and noted influencer, doesn't carry (or project) any air of entitlement and any blasé attitude. His humility, intelligence, and great skill for creating introspective narratives in the form of these mind-opening videos simply are top-notch. Finally, we've found a man to regard as our country's very own "better version" of Anthony Bourdain. Bravo Erwan!
I love how Erwan gives respect to the food by asking assistance how to eat every dish traditional way. It gives highlight on people's culture in every place he went.

Please continue making good and quality content. Mainly I don't like english as the main language spoken for documentaries focus on Filipino subjects but yours is an exception. Not quite sure why, but I can feel your sincerity to uplift the Filipino heritage and cuisine. A big salute to you Erwan.

Thank you for being a future bearer, spokesperson and representative of our people. We are rich in culture and natural resources. It shows thru our heritage and gastronomy. So proud. #riseupphilippines
Love all your documentaries shows but as a regular seaweed eater, watching this preparing to go to work knowing that I’ll have a hectic day ahead calms me down. I’m missing my native land. Simple, simple hard and difficult but rewarding life.
Hats off, Erwan, from New York City. Thank you for giving attention to the artisans of the Philippines specially those who work under the mercy of nature. Their very hard work are never given importance and appreciation. I am grateful that you are doing so. Surely, New York City will embrace the products of these people if given the chance to reach us. New York City promotes and loves anything organic and exotic. More power to you.
Absolutely amazing Erwan and Featr team! I loved that you preserved the authenticity of each region and letting them tell their story in their own way. A perfect blend of history, story-telling, culture, and mouth-watering dishes.
I love this episode. This should be in PBS (US TV Station) or Travel Channel. From the host, cinematography, videography, scoring, timing, CONTENT, editing and production = Bloody Brilliant 👍🙌👏
More than Compliments for YOU , ERWAN ! It warms the Heart that a foreigner like YOU is doing a very hard work, Herculean at that featuring our Best Foods, and Filipinos’ Gourmet Artists… YOU are a “Hero” in Your own right, just like “ Heroes” YOU featured! KUDOS !!! Kuya ED M here SalaMUCH!!!
Thank you for making this type of documentary and highlighting the Filipino food culture and its rich history. Having lived in a foreign land so many decades now, I have been following your show for some years and I can say, I'm not only so so proud being a Filipino but also knowing so much more, much much more from your shows. God bless and keep on going. Thank you for helping our countrymen and women who work very hard with traditions handed down from our early ancestors. colonizers and immigrants from different part of the world. Our country is very unique indeed.
Regional Filipino food that you rediscover for every Filipino to watch and learn in the comfort of our homes is truly a learning gift to us. The far flung Muslim Archipelago is most interesting and an eye opener. Am a retired local Exec-Chef from Napa Valley Ca. Torn between our very rich food culture and Wholefoods American take on global cuisines. I truly admire the reach of your excellent vlogging. You are a national treasure. Chef M.
Thank you, Erwan for showcasing the Filipino food and culture in a deeper level. Not just to other countries but most specially to our fellow Filipinos, to keep our culture and legacy alive and passed down to the next generations. And as for me and our fellow Filipino that lives overseas, to be reminded and cherish how beautiful our food, our culture and our country is. Thank you! 😌
Me too, almost crying as I watch this, and it is like - how ignorant I am about so many wonderful cultures traditions and characters in the Philippines, and at the same time I am so excited to take in as much! Thanks, Erwan and Team!
Wow! This is awesome! As a Filipino-American, this makes me feel closer to my roots while away from my birth country. I’m super proud of Erwan and his team
This made me see a side of Filipino culture I've never seen before. So much appreciation for our Filipino traditions and values. Thank you Erwan and FEATR for putting this piece together!

From time to time, we get a glimmer of hope, a hope that there are people out there still dedicating their lives to discovery, and preservation, of culture and their indigenous foods! FEATR fills a niche that no other shows does, one dedicated to the Philippines' indigenous culture! As usual, well done! The entire episode left me wanting more!
Amazing documentary! I learned a lot about the country I was born in. Thank you for showcasing the uniqueness of the Filipino culture. It brings home up close from far away.

Bonjour. Great cultural & even educational video for Pinoys & Non Pinoys ( like me). A real trip through remote areas in the philippines & often roads less travelled by the tourists. Great way of honoring these small artisans and to bring them to light by promoting and valuing their authentic products made with love , passion and often hard work. I wish Pinoys & foreign cultured foreigners will take notice of these gem food dishes and baking, etc. I loved those sea food and fish Tinilao dishes. Bravo pour l’excellent reportage. Continuez vous êtes sur le bon chemin . J’attends avec impatience d’autres documentaires.
Wow, so informative. Very commendable on how the team did deep-dive study just to highlight and give robust narrative info to viewers like me. I hope and pray that Filipino authenticity will also take its peak in the global market. Proud to be Filipono. God bless to our local produce.
