How Apple Cider Vinegar Can Grow Your Hair Faster and Healthier | Dr. Mandell

  • When it comes to your hair and scalp, apple cider vinegar is the winner! Harsh soaps and shampoos strip hair and skin of its natural oils, leaving you feeling dry all over. The acidity of apple cider vinegar counteracts that process and actually balances your skin and hair’s natural pH levels.
Apple cider vinegar stimulates your hair follicles, helps to clean clogged pores and follicles, and prevents dandruff.

Will Apple cider veniger work on my black afro hair ? It doesn't grow anymore, it makes me sad 😞 😢. I'm not sure if it's because of age 😕? I'm 53yrs old, and I always had beautiful afro .

@@zanelemanqele844Long hair (and curly hair) has to be treated differently than shorter hair. I don't use shampoo...the stuff seriously weakens & breaks the wet hair. I go through 2 doses of conditioner when I wash my hair once a week. Other times, just a run under water (especially rain water or rice water) does well. Our grandmothers with long, beautiful hair knew how to grow it.
I also wouldn't comb wet hair, which is more fragile and prone to breakage. Finger comb hair when it is dry.
Just doing these techniques can help with hair growth.

I was the eldest of six and the only dark haired child. When my hair was washed my Mother always put vinegar in my final rinse. It did shine like nothing has since. I still remember hearing my great Aunt saying I was ugly because I wasn’t blonde like the others until one day I noticed I wasn’t ugly. I was average and ugly comes from inside. Not to mention I had the best hair in the family that grew the longest and was the thickest. Thank you.

@@lorysutherland5464 Yes, you can. However, it should be used AFTER YOU HAVE RINSED OUT YOUR DYE PRODUCT, AND CONDITIIONED YOUR HAIR PER DYE MANUFACTURERS INSTRUCTIONS. After that, ACV will make your hair shinier, healthier (ph is good for hair), and it will make short work of any residual product that your hair hasn't absorbed by then. Meaning, your hair will definitely be clean and healthy. Now, this will not deal with the thinning problem you are having. I suggest Biotin shampoo and condition and try a supplement that includes biotin and B vitamins. Good luck.

Hair rinses are a good alternative to conditioner. It always surprises me, since it feels so different. We are used to the way conditioner feels to our hands as it is massaged into hair, but a dilute vinegar rinse does the same job. If you want more slip, boil it with flax seeds and strain. I also use day old coffee as a rinse sometimes. I have long thick hair at 57. I also make my own shampoo with soap berries.

Finally I switched to using ACV instead of conditioner. Kept the shampoo. Helped my hair, but not the itch. As a last resort, after researching, I began massaging my scalp with organic Aloe Vera gel on damp hair...and using it as a leave in conditioner after the ACV rinse. It worked! Itching stopped and my hair grew back! 🌞

I've been spritzing my hair with apple cider vinegar for many years. I have blonde and curly hair. I do not dilute it though, I'm wet enough not to do it. I've noticed that it helps very much when water is hard, when I visit my mom her water is very hard and I feel my hair being soft immediately compare not to do it. Everytime I visit my mom I make sure to get some ACV. I also spritz all my body, and particularly my armpits. Just beware that you need to get used to the smell. If it bothers you, make sure to ventilate the room. It doesn't bother me. I rub my skin and scrunch my hair and while letting the ACV "sit" I dry my shower, than I'm ready to use my towel to dry. I also use ACV on my mouth when I have some allergic reactions or soarness in my mouth. Beware of the acidity for your teeth though. Hi Dr. : You are so Right! I stumbled on the apple cider vinegar by mistake.
I washed my hair and did a deep conditioner but my hair was even itchier and look as though I had dandruff. I needed to rinse my hair again thinking I didn't rise it well. I rushed and grab some apple cider vinegar, massage it in my hair and then rinsed. The outcome was absolutely amazing! It datangled my hair, it was softer and light. My scalp felt like it needed it. I mean it felt so good.
I, have try so many products for years but I was never satisfied, I was spending unseen amount of money it was a waste. I'm so happy but at the same time, I was thinking about the time and effort I was trying to achieve this result and found it by accident.😊

I started using rosemary oil on my scalp after seeing Dr. Anthony Youn doing a video saying that in clinical studies rosemary oil works as well as Rogaine at producing new hair growth. I've been using it regularly on my scalp for about 9 months and have a lot of new hair growth coming in. It's actually new hair growth that is inches shorter than the hair I already had when I started using the oil.

      @@its_eboni Sure!
To make Rosemary water: A big handful or two of fresh Rosemary sprigs to cover the bottom of a crock pot. I’m sure you could use a regular pot on the stove top too. Completely cover the rosemary, 6-8 cups of water. Cook on low for 4 hours. The water will turn a yellowish/green. Strain out the Rosemary. I use a silicone muffin pan and pour the Rosemary water in each muffin tin and then freeze. I then pop them out after they’re frozen and store in a ziplock bag in the freezer. Each muffin cup in the pan is 1/4 cup.
I also use Coconut milk in the shampoo, just makes it a little creamier. But it’s optional. Open a can of coconut milk and strain it through a fine mesh with a cheese cloth laid over that to catch any fine particle. You could freeze the coconut milk in ice cube trays or at least in 1 Tbs measurements.
      To make the shampoo:
You will need an empty foaming hand soap bottle. It needs to be foaming.
1/4 cup Castile soap (I like the Peppermint scented and it makes your scalp tingle a little)
      1/4 cup of Rosemary water
      1 Tbs Coconut milk(optional)
1 tsp. Jojoba or Olive oil( If you have oily hair you can leave it out and see how you like it.
Tea tree and Rosemary essential oil
      (5 drops each)
      Optiphen Plus(all natural preservative)
      Directions:
On low, heat the 1/4 cup of frozen Rosemary water and the 1 Tbs. of Coconut milk just till melted. In a measuring cup add 1/4 cup of Castile soap along with remaining ingredients. Stir or whisk to combine and then store in a glass jar. Refill your foaming dispenser as needed.
This really does foam a lot and I find that I don’t need but a few pumps to wash my whole head, and I have a lot of hair! This amount will last for about 1 month, or longer depending how much you use. You do not need the Optiphen Plus preservative if you don’t add the coconut milk. Hope you try it!! I’ll never go back to store bought! 😍

@@elizabethletsoso2558 I don't know for sure. I think I would pour it onto my scalp from the top of my head. I would just massage it in. That's how I would do it.

Well, I tried the apple cider vinegar in my hair today for the first time. I was astounded that I could get a regular barbers comb through my hair without conditioner I usually condition my hair and have to use one of those big shower combs to get the knots out after rinsing out the conditioner, but that little barber comb went right through my hair like I was slicing soft butter! Thank you, Dr. Mandell. The spice aisle in Whole Foods has become my new medicine cabinet with all the videos that I have watched and they have helped me greatly. God bless you! 🙂

I have been following your programs very keenly and found it to be useful and easily applicable in our lifestyle. Genuine, simple, humble and knowledgeable people who are doing yeoman service to society are always ridiculed and criticised because of jealousy, and they don't wish any good work from good people and get deeply affected if they receive attention and praise. But Dr we know how genuine you are and what you are imparting is God's service. You will definitely be blessed. Please keep up your good work. Thank you.
