      I don't know where they got "sweet beef" from. It tastes like steak to me, but far far far far stronger, to the point that it's not that nice.

    Kangaroo - Is a tricky meat to cook but is one of the leanest meats you can get at your grocery store or butcher if not cooked right can be tough or chewy and has a gamey flavour compared to beef some would say similar to venison.

      @NOU TFF I don't think you're missing out on much. Kangaroo is not that nice. Crocodile and eel are soooooo much better tasting. FOR THE CONFUSED PEOPLE IN THE COMMENT SECTION!
    The Kangaroo population surpasses the australian population by every 4 kangaroo = one person, so its basically like beef for them, also its highly nutritious, the native australians used the kangaroos as the main meal for their everyday norm.

    • @YTsucksarse
      @YTsucksarse 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      For them?? you FUCKING IDIOT! I am born Australian; and here is the truth of it you fucktard: people generally dont eat Kangaroo. I was born 1981, and it wasn't in supermarket as a kid growing up- anywhere. It was beef, pork, lamb, chicken and fish as your main proteins as well as eggs. But I'd say i started to notice it more in gourmet butchers from the late 1990s- but now 2022- you can go into a Woolworths or Coles, or an IGA- the three largest supermarket chains and find kangaroo meat. But it doesn't sell well- people still proedominantly eat beef, lamb, chicken, fish. Not kangaroo. A lot of that is becasue they are cute and furry, and a lot becasue its just not the social norm yet, and also the taste is different. A kangaroo fillet cooks differently to a beef or lamb fillet too- you dont need to cook it for as long.I have tried Kangaroo 3 times in my life. I am 40 years old. And I would say this is probably normal.. Kangaroo meat in the supermarkets isn't that cheap either- usually 15-25/ kg- where i can get chicken breasts on sale for 8-10/ kg, I can get pork shoulder at 6-8 kg/ kg, and I can get beef mince at 10/kg. So I'd say because these other protein sources are also cheaper than Kangaroo is also a major barrier to australians consuming it more. Honestly, when speaking to backpackers here visiting, a much much higher proportion of backpackers would eat kangaroo for the novelty of it, compared to most australians. There is nothing wrong with the meat, it is more healthy than most meats, super lean, a little more gamey in taste.

      Australian here, kangaroos are our national animal but they’re actually also a major pest that can disrupt the livelihoods of regional farmers. They’re very prolific breeders that are at no risk of being hunted or killed to extinction, in fact they’re significantly more ecological to eat and healthier for you than beef. Our indigenous first peoples here have enjoyed the meat as a highly sustainable protein source for thousands of years just like how Americans eat turkey so when you have so much of something that is greener, healthier and just better you’d be stupid not to eat it.

    Let me point something out to you people out there saying it’s shameful to eat the national animal, the kangaroo.
    1. The native aboriginal people hunted kangaroos long before Australia was discovered and colonised. Even today the indigenous people of Australia still hunts them down for their meat.
    2. Kangaroos are overpopulating which is causing issues such as deforestation.
    3. Kangaroos are considered a pest to the farming industry, especially growing fruits and vegetables.
    So before criticising, do your research on Australian history and about our native wildlife.

    As a seasoned kangaroo hunter I must also caution any non Aussies who wish to hunt and eat it, kangaroos are notorious for having a brain eating worm Inside them and the best way to check for this worm is to spread the legs and inspect the private parts, you may or may not see a white worm in that area, iether way it is up to the chef to slow cook the meat very well and not allow any part of the meat to be rare (bloody) otherwise his patrons could shit themselves for days or end up in hospital. Funny enough the best part of the roo is the tail 👍👍👍

      Of course I know, they were eating, but these were wild human animals, they did not have the methods and ways to develop a diverse diet, like us now, there are so many options in food… I have been a vegan for 13 years, I see more food options than killing an animal and eating its decomposing body… taking its life, which has the right, just like you and me, to live on this earth

    • @DarkenVampirDragon-x3u

      @@shellanissan351 funny how you say lives, aren’t the plants you eating living creatures. Not too mention you eat the microorganisms upon fruits and vegetables. It doesn’t matter whether you’re vegan or not, humans will always cause destruction when establishing hospitality and consumption. Not matter how you look at life whether you eat animals or not you still play in that factor of pollution and deforestation.
      When growing fruits and vegetables, you still need to kill off animals such as insects and rodents from devouring the plants. Another fact is plants also survive on meat and animal leftovers. So being vegan isn’t going to prevent animal extract from being in your body.
