The challenge for visitors is to go back home & ask themselves why their own countries don't measure up. For myself, i don't wish to go anywhere else anymore, because I'm frankly allergic to Bullshit.

Don’t go around by yourself at night. always stay in between the flags when you at the beach! Lifeguards are always out there to check where it is safe. If you approach one of the creatures, just move away slowly and don’t panic. In my opinion Australia is super safe, you just need to be careful! I think something like 1 person has died from a spider bite in Australia in the last 40 years. Snakes are a different story, 2 people die a year, but you have to be unlucky or stupid to get bitten by one. You are MUCH more likely to die from an animal encounter with a horse, cow or kangaroo while driving down an outback road.

The valley is crawling with cops now it's being gentrified and it's so much safer. I used to live in red hill and I could walk from Brunswick to my front door. All 10 of the local homeless people would go get the cops if they ever saw me being harassed and I did that walk for like 4 years. Drive 2 hours inland though and it's getting real methy. I'm a young female. I often go out/come home late but never feel not safe/threatened. The streets are clean, even in the city. If you compare Sydney CBD with downtown major US cities where rubbish and homelessness is prevalent, you'll be grateful as Australian. I can even compare the cleanliness between major Australian cities CBD with clean Japanese cities. Not to mention healthcare system is decent, school quality is great, decent living wage, people are friendly & welcoming. One of the best countries in the world, but… safety is relative… they’re all white locals or (but one) white tourists so of course they’ll say that… because it is for white people… police crimes against aboriginals are tragically routine… it happens a lot more than you think…

Koalas are a nuisance when they are mating outside the bedroom window all night. They sound like wild pigs ( male) and the female screams. Other than that , don't walk in long grass in summer time. Assume every snake you see could kill you and give them a wide berth. Don't swim with seals ( Great White's favourite food) , don't swim in the tropics ( stingers and crocodiles). Avoid Chinese tourists driving on the road ( assuming they ever return). Don't drink South Australian beer, except for Coopers.
