I bought the same machine last month and it is so light and awesome! I put the bread pan on my kitchen scale next to my heavy flour bin, then spoon in the flour until I reach the right amount. No mess, and perfect amount.
"Slice off the ugly part".....oh no no no, that's the best part by far! ;) I'm two plain white loaves down (both great) in my first bread maker and looking to push the envelope. I'm going to try your spud bread bread for sure !
Oh, most bread machines that I seen are either 1 or 1 1/2 lb. Not sure if I can modify the recipe for my machine. Perhaps I can find one somewhere with measurements for potato bread fitting for 1 1/2 lb loaf. I will just keep looking. 😊
So my aunt gave me an older bread machine probably from the 90's but I can not for the life of me understand why the paddles always come out into the loaf. I know they remove so I can wash them but should I be removing them before the loaf bakes? My machine doesn't have a beep or any notification to signal it's time to remove the paddles before it starts proofing and baking. Having to dig those suckers out of the bottom of a crusty loaf of bread sucks lol. Maybe I just need a newer machine.
POTATO BREAD in the BREAD MACHINE!
Recipe:
1 1/2 cups water
3 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
1 egg
4 cups bread flour
2/3 cup mashed potato flakes
1 tablespoon sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
2 1/2 teaspoons yeast
I used about 3/4 cup of actual potato; cooled and mashed. Best ever.
Thank you! This makes quite an excellent loaf, as well as hot dog and hamburger buns.
I have the same bread machine. And I ❤ LOVE ❤ this recipe so much.

I’m going to go get me a bread maker - I had one a long time ago, and haven’t thought about home made bread in ages !
That hook also helps getting the mixing paddle out of the bread. Looks like a great recipe.
Thanks!
Thanks so much for posting. I need to get one of those bread makers.
That looks soooooo good!! Thank-you Leigh for making it for us!! Blessings.

Do you have a recipe for hawaiian bread?
I don't, but I can see if I can come up with something.

Is the recipe for 1 1/2 lb loaf or a 2 lb loaf? My bread machine makes 1 1/2 lb loaf.
It's a 2 pound loaf.

I take the paddle out after the last knead (beat down). Just use a skinny spatula to lift dough to the side.
I just never used it yet
That little hook is to get the paddle out of the bread not to get the pan out of the machine
I have a bread maker all ready
