    I've also done the soldering trick on 2 2075xs and no problems yet. My friends been running the savox 1230sg mega torque servo. Just 1 and no problems with power. Best mod he done for the revo. 🖒🖒

    I seriously spent a good 30+ minutes with those gears trying to figure out how they go in right! I thought I had it once, and put it back together and it instantly stopped when I tried to test it and came apart inside! I learned quick, that is kind of sucks when you remove the wrong side of the steering servo, when all you want is the circuit board! Good Video, sir Kevin!

  • @devastator85

    I run a Hitec HS-5955TG in my E-revo 2.0. No problems.. Seems like BEC is strong enough. But if you choose to go for a Hitec, you have to buy TRA5345X.

    Hey Kevin I got the e revo 2.0 and I put 2 savox... nothing has happened yet I’ve had them in for 1 month and I run my car basically every day at the track... just try it out but can’t hurt much and if you got a spare receiver... I don’t think your esc will have a problem... 1000 ounces of torque

    It's time for me to buy some upgraded servos for my two trucks. On one hand it will be better to have more torque and faster steering response. The only problem I'm thinking is it might do damage to something that is a lot more costly. I have a Summit and a Revo 3.3. The Revo doesn't need the steering torque, it needs the faster response. The Summit tho needs the response for the rock crawls I do and the torque for the tight narrow trails I use it with. I typically only use the Revo for hill climbs and more speed trail running. The summit is strictly slow crawling/trailing.

    get a savox and a power cap/glitch buster it just plugs into the reciver to reserve some power for it. or get a hitec servo heard good things about them too...

  • @stksrcnv975

    I run the Savox 1230sg in my brushless summit and use it for rock crawling and bashing and they hold up great!! Little pricey, but not that much more the the factory traxxas.

    Outsourced RC did a video on why running just one servo isn't that good of an idea. I think he said it causes the truck to shift from side to side or something. Personally, it was designed to use 2 servos so that's what I would go with. 👍👍

    • @KevinTalbotTV
      @KevinTalbotTV  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I wanna keep 2 servos in there really

    • @mikechamberlain2337
      @mikechamberlain2337 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The problem with having the 2 servos is if one gets out of sink with the other it fights its self. I did the single servo conversion on my revo 2.5r and it worked great. But I would recommend that you use a nice servo that has some torque. I personally used the hitec hs7955tg in mine and it was one of the best mods I did to the truck, other than changing the gearing in the transmission. The whole truck was modded out the wazoo. Anyhow good luck with it. And of course the original servos were garbage, they didn't even have metal gearing it was plastic which when you bash as hard as you do, its a lot better and handle way more abuse.

      I am running a single power hd 20kg like you are running in your trx4 it has just as much torque as both stock servos combined its about the same strength as both stock servos , although if i had the money id buy a hitec HS -7950TN and a gpm aluminum steering assembly . please sub me Kev I have new channel and Im really going to try my best to make a go of it. cheers from Nova Scotia ,Canada

      i've heard that the 2085x is good (Kev uses this) and traxxas sells an adapter to mount 1/10 or 1/8 scale servos in the x maxx. The best place to look for info on 1/5 scale servos would be the traxxas forums.

    I have 2 2075's in my e maxx, running them on 7.4 volts atm. theyll be dead sooner than later, should I go with 2 servos again?

    • @dominicpicarazzi3465
      @dominicpicarazzi3465 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The number of servos depends on your driving style, wheels/tires, terrain, and the servo's strength. For example, one could use two 10kg servos, or one 20kg servo, as they would get the same results from either options. So if i were you, i would definitely stick with 2 servos so there is enough response and power for almost every condition.

    • @jordandeschenes7482
      @jordandeschenes7482 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      3.8 monster tires so they do take a good amount of juice to turn, I think I will stick with two thanks! I was told by somebody that 2 servos fight eachother but it doesnt seem that way with the 2 2075s. thanks for the reply!

    I'm using 1 old 2075 & it's still working so far. Idk how long it's gonna last either lol. I want to run a single servo so I'm interested in finding one to. Let us know what you choose.

    • @KevinTalbotTV
      @KevinTalbotTV  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      RJX is my favorite but 2 would be complete overkill

    • @mikeburgessrc5360
      @mikeburgessrc5360 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kevin Talbot Cool. I'm trying to cut down on all the unnecessary electronics in my Summit & I am turning it into a Erevo. I broke one servo landing a jump wrong lol & have only been running 1. Works fine just can't turn unless your rolling. So I'd like a higher torque single servo.

    • @thomweber4102
      @thomweber4102 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mike Burgess RC i recomend to take one with more than 20 kg torque. Because my E Revo VXL havea savox digital servo with 20 kg torque on 6V. Sometime when your RC is not moving and it stands in gras, it will not always turn the wheels fully. And take a servo with a long cable because my servo cable is almost to short.

    • @mikeburgessrc5360
      @mikeburgessrc5360 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thom Weber I agree definitely more than 20kg. Problem I have with the 1 2075 is it doesn't like to return to center. If I had a good set of tires I don't think it would work at all. Like the 2.0 tires are pretty beefy tires. I'd have trouble with those for sure. I am running a worn set of revo 3.3 tires now.

    • @thomweber4102
      @thomweber4102 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mike Burgess RC the rrason why I think that happend is because the 2075 servos from traxxas only have 9 kg torque. And that is not much when you havo to move big heavy tires.

If you wanna see what it looks like, I can figure out how to show you mine with the dBoots. Lots of guys in my FB group do the same with the Backflips. I bash pretty hard and so far no separation and no splitting in six weeks running. I don't vent them either but also don't run through water much so even vented they may perform even better on dirt.

    Hi Kevin, would you recommend a traxxas xmaxx 8s for general dirt trails and forest since I am wondering how casual wear and tear will effect the truck and how long it will last with minor maintenance and not like your extreme bashing! Haha

    See what happened is you already repaired 9 servos, so this is the 10th one. If 9 times out of 10 the solder mod works, then 1 time out of 10 it doesn't work. This is that 1 time.
