@@wasabisdaddy I really wanna write "well no shit sherlock" but I'm going to be nice. He's been recovering for quite some time now. I partially torn my tendons in my right knee last year, which led to "only" 5 months of resting the leg. Which I am bad at, since when I broke my thumb at 10 yrs old, I rode bmx in skatepark for 14 days with the cast on my left wrist... 5 months of riding a bike using my left leg (cause I'm just stubborn and my arms are too weak to handle walking on crutches to and from college), and my right leg got to about three quarters of the size it was before. Quite literally. I have jeans, that are slim fit, which fit me almost as leggings would. After the 5 months, they were loose around my right leg with about a 3-4cm gap...

100% agree on getting the small-scale first! I recently got one, I wanted to get the 1/10 trx4 so bad. But all in, that's at least 600 bucks when you factor in the cost of the battery & the charger if you don't already own one. I picked up a 1/24th scale instead, had literally everything I needed in the box to run it as soon as I got home, even came with batteries for the radio. It's a blast to set up little courses using random household objects in my living room, but truthfully I really don't use it that often, so I'm glad I didn't shell out six or seven hundred bucks on the 1/10 scale. I think I'm going to get one eventually, I do have a few places near me that would be fantastic for a large scale crawler, but I'll wait till the weather gets better.

Another thing, at the lower weight and lower speeds that these go at, you won’t break parts as harshly or as often. My traxxas broke pretty quickly and haven’t fixed it since.

The best part about the big ones is they’re easy to work on and you can make them more your own. Motors, drivetrain, gear ratios, suspension, wheels, etc are much easier to upgrade

This is a good point. There is a lot more you can do with winches and custom light setups etc as well.

I personally started with 1/10 as there wasn’t much options in the 1/24. I had 9 big crawlers before I bought my first micro crawler, and man are they good! In my opinion, they are more enjoyable (depending on the terrain) than some of my 10th scale. I have 11 micros crawlers now, still an addiction

A lot of the RC crawler guys I talk to at our local shop actually come from the full size comp crawler scene but are tired of all the costs associated with a real life rig.

I've watched a bit of your content over the past few days and I love your relaxed but enthusiastic approach to your videos. I'm the other way around, been into rc since the 80s but (apart from some national level bmx as a kid) looking to get a hard tail and do some MTB. I feel this channel could be a fitting home for me. Very interested in building a 1/24 layout too. Hope you've recovered. Subscribed. Neil.

Got a UTB18 Capra last summer, and I love it!
So much tinkering to do if you want, and if you use it slow and steady as crawlers should, then it's almost no repairs needed, unlike previous basher RC's I've had in the past.

i would suggest a 1/10 over a micro. much more capable and easier to work on for beginners. furthermore the 1/24 scale are wayy more prone to breaking.
