this is the exact definition of "I don't need it but I want it!!!"
Hahahaha🤣
The selfie stick is a very cool idea. I've jammed a stick into a water bottle pocket before, but it leaves something to be desired.
The power bank is screaming "expensive electronics - steal me!" and "raindrops, make yourself at home!" though.
The stick is a killer idea! Especially when it’s out behind you and you can just focus on the hike! The power pack I think is best used when you’re off grid a bit, so hopefully nobody is out there to steal from you🤣
Hey We just love every cool idea and try to bring it to real world, thanks god you like lancer300 too. Yeah the backpack does look like "wow, Im rich, pls steal me" lol. So we will send everyone a "coat" for the backapack, make it look cheaper. Oh btw, the power station is ipx6 waterproof. If someone want to explore some mountain on rainy, of course we dont need stay at home.
I am already seeing motovloggers using these
This backpack looks like something from a Death Stranding game..
Great Job on the video David! Thanks for making it.
Nice bit of gear, love the content as always David!
I just have to comment on the reason I keep coming back to your channel over everyone else and their 🐩 is because of your joyful energy you bring to the camera world. Thank you for being you ❤ oh this video was about back pack? Nice!
This is an interesting bag, I've been watching its development, plus it looks pretty cool, like a GI Joe backpack. Love your enthusiasm, David 👌
Same... done need it but want it so badly! Great video Dave!
that is a dope bit of kit, for sure. it does so much, and i was over the moon when you said it got built in selfie stick... but the footage looked incredibly wobbly, made my eyes go funny! i'm guessing that was fully extended? could we have a more in depth test of that at all? as a disabled person who wants to vlog, needing handsfree is no choice, this would give me so much scope for creativity, if only it was less bouncy. i cant hold out selfies sticks at arms length at all, and i walk with sticks! i reallly enjoy your content, i might not comment very much, but i appreciate you. thanks for bringing such cool and genius ideas to our attention.
have yourself a great weekend :)
Okay this is the best backpack of the year. What an invention!
Love the 8 bit sounds..ok this remind me of metal gear, military type of equipment. Super dope! Totally want, for sure dont need it, but its clever, and fun, and so coool!
That bag looks heavier that all the camera gear I normally take on a trip!
Awesome video. I came across this on social media and was blown away by the concept of the bag, especially with the battery pack. I've not long gotten myself a X3 360 and the thought of being able to charge things on the go is just amazing. So i backed this on Kickstarter and i'm looking forward to the release of this genius idea of a bag. I've also the solar panel as well so i can charge the battery when out and about. The 336WH was the original idea, and with alot of feedback from the community they've got a 96WH aviation friendly battery for those who like to travel the world. This video deserves a follow and look forward to seeing more content using this backpackwhen it's fully released 👍🏻👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
WOW! Thank you for backing and sharing so clear describe. Create interesting product is our target, and meeting the needs of our customers is our goal.
Another great vid David. Like your sunglasses. What are they. thank you, Rick
I thought about getting this to cover music festivals and events like that with this backpack.
Also, great running into you at NAB. Maybe over the summer we can meet up to nerd out about camera gears. I’m in SoCal too, and teachers have summers free. 😂😂😂
Just bought one with your code, thank you!!
Damn.... this looks like it was inspired by my late 70/s early 80's camping backpack, with the external frame and the separate individual compartments
saw it a few months back and for the first time ever got involved in a Kickstarter campaign Pledged money signed up for the early bird the whole shooting match The damned thing just seems so versatile, got mine ordered with the power bank etc and recently saw something on the Coalax pages that says you can fit a water/hydration bladder in them too now. Seriously cannot wait for mine to arrive and get it out for a trial run see if it lives up to the build up
Hi thank you for backing Lancer300, Let me look forward to what surprises the backpack can bring you
Mind blown!!!! I need this NOW!
The selfie stick would make for a sweet light stand to put a flash on for a more run and gun portrait set up.
I actually need something like this! My sole gripe would be not being able to fit my 16” laptop, which is a necessity. Time to go check out their offerings!
I already have to many camera bags and kinda only use one or two and now you show us something like this. I definitely don't need it, but I want it.
Hahaha! Which camera bags are your go to choices?
thanks, I just ordered mine.
Nice Video! Dayuuuum! Now I have to buy another camera bag! I have been happy since my Compagnon Element! What do you do with the middle section when the battery is connected?
Thanks a lot David, why does your videos always put a dent in my credit card ;) Ugh, I'm a gadget freak too, it is pretty big though lol
Hahaaa as long as you’re getting credit card points🤷♂️
That pack is insane 🤯
Awesome bro!😀
Dude! I've been looking for a selfie stick for my bag to get 3rd person wildlife photography BTS content. I think you just sold me!
Crazy backpack! David, off topic, Insta360 X4 or DJI Osmo Pocket 3, when is that video coming out?
Was thinking of something like this last year!
I am currently using the *best camera bag in the world* it holds one camera with zoom lens and one prime lens a cleaning cloth and lens brush and a blower. Everything I need for a day out and nothing else, my back has thanked me for it too.
Reminds me a bit of the backpack in Death Stranding! 🙂
Lol, yeah Death Stranding is really cool
I just confirmed my address on kickstarter last night. I also ordered the flight safe battery and additional arm for mine.
Whoa! Went for a 5 week trip in Asia and had to mix and match my bag to use (PD backpack sling, etc). This would have been perfect! Have Insta360X3 and DJI Mini 3 Pro drone and full-frame cameras (Nikon Z9 and lenses) Interesting concept, may get it but will opt for the bag only, don't think I need the battery option.I think killer features are the modular system, integreated pole for 360 cameras.
David.....all I can say is WOW😁
Me 2
Hope to see this on retail shelves.
Judging by your grimace when you lift it, it looks too heavy to be practical except for a few with specialized needs.
Obviously depends what you pack into and man did I have that thing jammed to the limit! The exoskeleton is super impressive though, acting like a hiking backpack’s metal frame🙌
That is 1 heck of a bag. Is it heavy with all the stuff on? Especially the power bank?
Shockingly the power bank doesn’t add too much weight! I did have it fully packed out though, and when you stuff 35L full, any bag gets pretty heavy! The exoskeleton at least balances the weight really well!
Couldn't turn the stability on the Insta360 selfie test?
That wasn’t really a stabilization issue rather that I picked a gnarly trail to go hike. The Insta360 shot was perfectly stable, but the camera was swinging back and forth because of the trail🤷♂️
@@DavidManningvlog Its the flimsy selfie pole... Even when you not on the trail, with waging. Glad I didn't opt for one. I'd be pissed. They need to go carbon fiber like Insta360 does for their poles. Neat idea, but not there yet
@@uncle_trapper Hi, the backpack was shiped to Daivd in three monthes ago, we have solve the problem of waving for the newest version now. Welcome to join our group to learn more.
@@coalaxtech Then why let David release this video after it has been updated to put yout best foot forward, that was a horible test to the feature I was most interested in. Good luck selling these after that display...
@uncle_trapper they said for the new units which likely haven't been produced yet/are being produced.
How much does the bag weigh as you have it setup and how much does it weigh with the battery?
Not sure if this bag is for me but few things I would liked to see in this video. I’m missing size of water bottle pockets. Seems removable packs are not so easy to remove and attach. Lots of cuts and jumps when shown. Bag is missing laptop sleeve. Specially with power attached this is one thing you would have. More specs on power bank. Water proof? Examples of time and power usage. Ex: a Ameran 60x light ran 4 hours on full power. Type of cells in the bank. Lots of details missing.
I bet you'll never touch this thing ever again. LOL
Hi David, thanks for the Video indeed very interesting. Listen, I know you are a Falcam/Ulanzi fan. I just ordered and received a FANTASTIC product I thought I would let you know about. They have a new MagSafe IPhone mount which will fit all your lovely Ulanzi mounts. The magnet is REALLY strong and I ordered two, one for top of Camera the other for my Gimbal setup now that Monitor+ works with a USB-C connection to a Sony Camera. Maybe a Video idea for you as I don't need an expensive Monitor now and it's a very minimal setup! :) thanks again keep up the great Videos.
That selfie stick footage really does looks shaky as hell. That even in an advertisement video that footage is not more stable is kind of concerning for that feature.
Cool review as always David but the bag is nutz! It’s cool but I’m just not sure if I can imagine walking around with this thing on.
Why not to join our groub to sure it lol
great for 360 cameras
For sure one of the ideal use cases!
Interesting is one word for it. I’m still deciding the other word/s …. 😂
I’m getting some serious ghostbuster proton pack vibes with this bag. The power bank is the selling point for me. Do i want it, yes. Do i need it? Absolutely not.
The only problem is that i gotta buy find a new back to be able to use this huge backpack. But the tripod thing is cool
Very Cool bag!! BUT - The most important question is -- Can I take it through an AIRPORT SECURITY?!
Hi you can carry it the version without power station. Or you can carry the 100wh power station instaed of 336wh to airplane.
@@coalaxtech thanks
I did have a look at this and its cool, but i wouldnt trade my PGYtech onemo 2 for it
Hi Dave 🙋🏻♂️
Hi Abhijeet!!!
If this fit my my 16" laptop it would have everything I need. How much does that thing weigh?
That power bank looks cool but they should've included a rain hood if they plan to market it to hikers, unless that power bank is waterproof, in which case, SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!! A water bottle sleeve would be nice too.
It does come with a rain hood, and the zippers and material are all waterproof
Yea the power station is ipx6 waterproof. Dont worry.
If there was a smaller/thinner version I'd be game. I don't carry enough gear to warrant this ...but i do want one 😂
Got it! We do plan to product a smaller version in the latter half of the year.
@coalaxtech cool, I'll keep an eye out for it
Wow, should not have watched. Now I want one. But can you carry on this into a plane? The power bank looks big?
The 336wh version is not allowed to airplane, but Lancer 300 have a 100wh version power station, it can be carried on airplane
@@coalaxtech Thanks David!
What jacket is that? It's very cool.
Travis Matthew’s!
nice IRL backpack ..
Is there an EU version of the power station? So 230V/50Hz and EU sockets?
Yes we offer the EU version of the power station.
One more question for EU customers: where do you ship from regarding import taxes and duties? You seem to be a rather small company so probably don’t have a hub inside the EU to avoid the hassle with customs?
@@ivo_huth We have cooperated with a lot of forward, free shipping+free tax during the pre-sale period. No need to clear customs yourself, we will arrange delivery to the user's door. There is no need to worry about any transportation issues.
just velcro 3 EDC bags or fanny packs onto your current bag and it's the same thing. very modular. lol
Now make a video with the Dji Osmo Pocket 3 on that backpack selfie stick
Silly question but does the battery fit in one of the bags? So you can bring it all with you on a trip?
It straps on to the frame.
If you're talking about going on a flight with that thing, you're SOOL. That battery is way past airline restrictions.
@@MrPhilbautista Hi, there is a 100wh power station in add-on of Lancer300 backpack, the size of 100wh is same as 336wh, and it is allowed to carried on airplane.
@@coalaxtech Yup. Saw that but, there are power banks that are a lot smaller at 100 wh. Why does yours have to be the same size as the 336wh one? Just to fit in the rack? You should've made them smaller so people could buy 3 and fit them in the same space as the 336wh one. I don't think airline regulations prohibit multiple 100wh power banks because I've travelled several times already with multiple power banks and gone over the total.
@@MrPhilbautista Great advice, you give us a interesting and creative idea, thank you.
How heavy is it without the battery and how much does the battery weigh?
The backpack without power station is 2.5kg, the power station is 3kg. Welcome to join our group to learn more.
What they mean is: the backpack without the power station AND without the accessories bag that fits in that space is 2,6 kg, including the accessories bag the total is 3kg.
That powebank doesn't look very weather-friendly.
Hi the power station is ipx6 waterproof. And we will off you a coat for backpack.
What the deuce?!
Why was the 360 video so shaky? I've not seen that before
It was the trail I choose. It was pretty gnarly and as I ran down the trail I was swinging it back and forth. So user error🤣
These modular type bags have a lot of extra material and wasted space imo
The built in selfie stick is pretty neat tho.
lots and lots of extra material. lol.... it's ridiculous....
Looks cool, idea is great but way to heavy for me. 3kg without the power station is too much for an empty bag. Also the best feature, the camera/light pole, looks to flimsy. You say it is the wrong trail for filming with a 360° cam, but this is exact the trails you would normally take.
The backpack was shiped to David in three monthes ago, the newest version without power station is 2.5kg. And the problem of waving has been sloved.
@@coalaxtech Great, you should update the webpage accordingly. Thanks for your answer!
@@ivo_huth Thank yo for reply, we have update in kickstarter. Of course we also refer it on our new webpag.
People are now gonna follow you around asking if they can charge their phone on your backpack. Jokes aside, I think you could also use the selfie stick with a flash and go to tourist spots totally mobile and charge people for portraits with no light stand
Great idea
Am I the only one getting Death Stranding vibes?
Not the backpack I want but need😆😆
I wonder if that would fit under an airline seat
All parts is waterproof, inclouding power station( ipx6), and we will offer a waterproof cost for the backpack.
How much does it weigh???
The backpack without power station is 2.5kg, the 336wh power station is 3 kg.
How much does it cost? I checked online but it says $169. That can’t be right?!?!
$499 but discounted to $399 as of today. That's for the bag with power and 1 stick. If you buy it separately, it's $230 for the bag, $199 for the power bank and $59 for the stick. There's also a power bank with less capacity for $99, in case you plan to fly somewhere, since the big one might not be allowed on planes.
Interesting bag but it looks heavy alone..can't imagine how much it would weigh after I fill it with gear. 😧
favorite word...BIT. lol
well the thing is you cant really go backpacking with this thing because theres nowhere to put your clothes food, shelter etc if youre bringing your camera gear
Infact the backpack has 35L large capacity, it is enough for a one-day hiking, and there is a "external stores system", you can add waht you need with those hook rack and strap.
That Power Station... what if it rains..
Then you get back heating! ;-)
The power station is ipx6, dont worry. (the power station has a effective sealing waterproof cover plate
It is far from practical, I watched the 'air photography' review a month ago. It's heavy too. Much better options for far less, just add a battery bank of your own. Their battery is 3.2 kg.
It has a lot to do with the battery's capacity. 336 wh is a lot of juice. If you're hiking to an isolated area and plan to fly drones all day, you may need that much power. At least, this battery's mounting system frees up your hands. Bringing along a lot of smaller power banks might do the trick too and maybe David can do a comparison of this.
@@MrPhilbautista I've been hiking my entire life, that thing is a monstrosity designed by someone that has never hiked any where, much less back country. If I have plans that involve hours of flying, I bring 5-7 batteries for drones and camera, usually and a 15000amp hour battery bank good for 6 or 7 charges for phones cameras etc. and it weighs less than 700 grams. That all fits in my standard camera backpack (Tamrac) along with lenses, filters etc. and is lighter with the same performance. That pole on the side is going to get snagged on every limb and downed tree you pass.
@@flightographist Not gonna argue your points. I'm just saying that 336wh is way more juice than 15000 mah. People have different power requirements so that's that but I do agree with you on the weight issue which is why I brought up the comparison in my earlier comment. I've also DIYd my own version of that selfie stick and wasn't a big fan of all that moving around but, to each his own, and I won't argue on the dangers of it getting snagged. I once tried walking through a bamboo forest with my 360 in drone mode and when I brought it down, the lenses were all scratched up. But if you're someone that needs a lot of power and headed to a remote location, this is still a hands free option and the poles are detachable so you can ditch them if you don't like em.
@@MrPhilbautista No doubt brother, in my experience though, it's never ever going to be necessary. Hate to say it, but this is a 100% non starter for people with experience. not you, them.
This is the way…
that power bank is overkill imo it's not a hiking backpack
It looks heavy AF
Looks really heavy.
There is no 'perfect' camera bag, but this one tries really hard to be. Given the presence of a power bank, the absence of a laptop sleeve is a little bit of a head scratcher. I suppose if you needed to edit photo/video on the go, you could utilize the mobile versions (if those exist, in your case) of what you use at home on the laptop/desktop..... Hmmm.....
Hey yea we try to product a useful and adaptable backpack. The labtop sack can carry most of Mac.
Hope it dont get that heavy looks heavy, my equipment will make it heavy
The backpack without power station is 2.5kg (newest version).
@@coalaxtechaaa ok thanks
What is the weight? Innovative, but not very practical for hiking, unless all you want to bring is tech.
Its a camera bag not a hiking bag.
First. 😏
I hate backpacks.
Too big and too heavy, if you add your camping gear including the tent (doubtful you could fit all that in) you won’t be able to carry it anywhere. Why camping gear you ask? Why else would you need such a massive battery just for a day hike in the mountains.
I'd guess for drones. Each drone battery will get you about 30 mins. Bring along a couple of spares and you could spend a day flying in some remote area charging the other 2 while flying with one.
wow!!
I have an Insta360 X4. I'm tempted.
