Just come across your channel. Like your spearfishing ethics just by reading the comments. Looking forward very much myself for this summers bounty. Have a trip booked for Cornwall in May. Just hoping its not a tad too early but will be good to get in the water all the same. Now subbed Thanks for taking the time
Thanks Pete, really appreciate your comment. Best of luck in May, I've some cracking fishing at that time of year so fingers crossed! I'm hoping to get in the water in early May, I like to wait till after April so the bass have had time to spawn. I'll hopefully be able to do a few more videos this year!
@@jodu626 nice, I’ve got a couple of days booked in North Wales in a couple of weeks - can’t wait! My dive buddy has already been in, plenty of lobsters, bass and mullet in the shallows, despite the colder than normal weather 😊
With the greatest respect buddy, people don’t tend to give away spots online. I was shown it by a local spearo, I don’t feel it’s my place to share it. Hope you understand 👍🏼
Yes buddy, that’s right, it was the remains of an old jetty. I’ve been a few times when I’ve been in Cornwall, it’s the only structure in a sandy, featureless bay, seems to attract huge numbers of bass and mullet at all states of tide. I was there a few weeks ago, it was thick with fish, almost too many fish! It was genuinely hard to pick out the bass from amongst the mullet, I didn’t get any great footage as the tide was running hard in on a spring, poor viz, I might put a small video together at some point 👍🏼
Always good to see scenes from Cornwall either above water or under. A nicely set up gun is one thing and accurate shooting is another. Well done! If you can just slow your head movements down a bit then you will be putting out good video.
andrew drummond this one is a Pathos Saragos 82 barrel with a Pathos Laser Open Pro spear and handle - basically just a Pathos Laser Open Pro...! Faultless guns, I’ve got 3 from 60cm to 90cm. My friends have swapped to them as well, I can’t recommend them enough. Provided by Dave at Fins4u. The twin 16mm bands the Laser Open Pro comes with are way overpowered, IMO, as it’s a very light gun - works much better with a single 16mm band. The double 14mm’s are something else though, great range and accuracy. It’s set up with a double wrap of mono. The bands are from SpearfishingStore, their own brand ones, I think they’re made in the USA, very pleased with them, super easy to load. Hope that helps mate - hopefully we’ll actually be able to dive this season!!
BR0SE1DON yes I’ve got a pathos sniper 95cm great guns amazing guns and quality..Yes I hope we can’t get back in soon cheers bro from the isle of wight👌👌👌
Thank you buddy - I have to say, I've been pretty blown away by the difference using twin 14mm bands has made to my shot accuracy and range - no noticeable increase in recoil either. They're just the cheapo ones from Spearfishing Store.
Vestjyden 30fps @ 1080p - GoPro Hero5 Black. From my research, this should give the best results, although I may be wrong. The video I posted before this one I accidentally used 90fps, the quality was quite bad. Hope that helps.
quempto none of them were huge fish, I’ll happily admit that but they were all very much legal. You have to to be really selective when you’re facing huge shoals with lots of undersize fish in them, I’ve been spearing for a long time, I don’t take big bass anymore, if you look at my other videos, you’ll see I’m happy to let a 10lb bass swim past and just enjoy the sight of them.
@@BR0SE1DON I stand corrected. Ah yes i know the video, if only more spearfishermen would abopt the same attitude rather than see a big bass as some sort of bravado trophy
quempto No worries mate! I love to see the big ones, so few and far between these days, I prefer just to watch them. I’m the same with lobsters, I’ve caught some monsters but always put them back. They’ve survived that long, they deserve it... well, apart from the one that bit my thumbnail off, that one got eaten!! 😅
nice catches bro, where's this at?
Great video, the water looks fantastic. Looking forward to what 2020 brings 👍👍
Videos like this get me really excited for summer. Cracking video and some nice fish.
Thank you mate - yes, I'm getting excited as well! I think I'll try a dive towards the end of April / early May, weather permitting! Can't wait!

@@BR0SE1DON yep I shall start my season next week. Dodging the weather. Fish are starting to come in by all accounts

@@BR0SE1DON yeah 3/4 of my mates are saying it’s an early start to the season. Dodge the weather and I think the rewards are there

Great video, where is this please?
whats the structure your diving underneath?, looks like an old pier or pipe

FreeDB no, it’s an older version, not sure if they still make it - I think this will be its 5th season. Decent suit, no complaints.
