Thank you for your comment from Alaska. It's a pity that my radio-controlled ship is not in the living room. They are in the attic and parking lot. I am impressed with the patience and effort put into making your plane.
Really hope to build one myself my worry is the lack of technical experience and how I'm gonna get the thing from my garage to an airport to get the wings put on. But financially it's my only option to build it. Should be a s*it ton of fun though :)
Since you say "Carbon Cub" does that mean many of the components are Carbon Fibre? It looked like the wing ribs and certain other parts are aluminum, but it certainly did seem that the fuselage was mostly Carbon tubing.
carbon fiber pressure cowling, floor pan, interior panels, baggage. The tubing for the fuselage is 4130 steel, fabric over that; the wing spars and ribs are aluminum and also fabric covered.
JJ's . The wings are boltet to the fuselage and the struts and not constructed for removel. It is of course possible, but you have to replace some nuts and safety pins when you rebuild it later. The ailron wires and the flap connection must be disconnected. I would not recomend it.
Carbon Cub is supposedly the best STOL aircraft...with tundra tires it can land almost anywhere, save for dense forests. And you can use (amphibious) floats. The engine must be able to use mogas though...
Carbon cubs are definitely high end bush planes. My little Piper cost about as much as a decent used Subaru wagon and much less than the kid down the street's diesel pickup.
Somewhat misleading title - "Assembly of a Carbon Cub from prefabricated parts and subassemblies" would be more appropriate. Still, its a lovely plane.
Just so you guys know, this was filmed in real time
The coffee's nice n strong in this shop
DJ I wish it only took this long
That is encouraging... I thought it took much longer to build one
Gims110 Takes 8 mins only.
Singularity lol 😂

That was very fun to watch. Nice build.
Looks great !
My dream project, I wish I had the opportunity to build one with my mates and fly it after almost a year's hard work!
I recomended it. Most fun in my life and i am about to build the second one. :-)

I assumed a Carbon Cub was carbon fiber but it appears to be tube & fabric construction so why is it called a Carbon Cub?
Some parts are made of Carbon Fiber. Cockpit interior, cowling, wingtip and more...
@@Olavb1 So basically there is no meaningful weight saving from the carbon fibre used in this aircraft
There's one of these things at Sugar Valley airport. N275DL. Such a beautiful plane... There's a vid of it on YT.
They call it carbon, although the carbon is minimal. I genuinely tough Carbon Cub was a full composite aircraft.
The Cub, world's safest aircraft. It just barely kills you. Love it!!
Great job, looks well built. :)
Another wasteful PA18 style when it could have been PA12 or a PA14 Family Cruiser.
That was definitely not eight minutes. But still good job 👏🏻
Neat video. thanks
Can't wait to build one of my own!
Meus amigos, que trabalheira, hein? Mas o resultado final ficou muito bom, espetacular! Parabéns pelo profissionalismo e dedicação, amei!!!
ANY VIDEO OF THE MAIDEN?
Makes me wanna learn to play guitar and and re make this song with different nuances, too straight forward. Its about time I m 68.
Very cool!!! I helped a bud do a resto on an L-21. I am looking at the CCub. It would be faster than the resto!!!
don't you wish it was that easy in that timeframe. he he
You guys are too slow.... I can do this in 7 minutes!!!! Nice video. Funny watching the days go by...like in the movie, "The "Time Machine"
I bet u owe many beers for those helping hands. Great job.
ash smitty or a couple of flights
Awesome job, guys!!! Thanks for posting... Congrats from Brazil ;-)

Khadijah Brown fiber*
Fuse tubing is metal

Vakkert fly og fint arbeid!
Built it in my garage. Instructions unclear how to get it to the airfield.
Did you have any prior experience as an aviation mechanic or engineer?
no
@@Olavb1 very inspiring

Build a carbon PA14
What is the frame made of?
Steel
how easy does the wings come off for storage conveniency.

That song sounds like Santana meets Cheryl Crow!
What does it cost for a full build like this when done by yourself?
Base price: $104,700
200,000 fully loaded
another $70k for water floaters.
VERY COOL !
Sorry are you there?
More like monoplane version of a Sopwith Camel.
Carbon Cub is supposedly the best STOL aircraft...with tundra tires it can land almost anywhere, save for dense forests. And you can use (amphibious) floats. The engine must be able to use mogas though...
100 Low lead. Use mogas and risk detonation in a high compression engine. Anphibs can be fitted to many aircraft, but they are ridiculously expensive.
Do the wings have carbon fiber in them??
Only the wing tip
Nothing is as simple as it seems.
Beautiful airframe.
Music junked video
Very Cool... Thanks...
why are they so expensive? for a few thousand more I can buy a used cub.
would love to fly in one again. my first and only flight in a small plane was an old piper cub. Thanks Ron for the memories RIP
but it will be: 1. used and 2. not as good.
Is this a music video?junked video
I am sure you have a volume control so that you can turn it off... This video was not made for the music.. I am pretty sure you understand that.
io impiegavo una settimana
Excuseme what kind of metal is the structure

Good to be rich...
lol um... yea it does.
Brandon H How much?
Base kit around $75,000 with no engine or avionics. So another 50-70k. A decent equipped carbon cub built yourself will run you 130-170,000
Yeah, you're looking at around 350k for a finished xcub
Carbon cubs are definitely high end bush planes. My little Piper cost about as much as a decent used Subaru wagon and much less than the kid down the street's diesel pickup.
is there any kit available to assemble this plane
Yes of course. Check: www.cubcrafters.com/carboncubex
Olavb1 Hey Do tou know if you can still boy the kit of the Pa 18 Super Cub?
No i do not think that is possible...But the Carbon Cub is even better. :-)
这是一个高科技玩具!

Hmm, very complex construction for a not very sophisticated craft. Much simpler design must be possible
Wonder why that 75 year old design has persisted? Because it works?
that was awesome
