Good review as usual. I have ordered a cupra born with e-boost and vapor Grey colour, only added the beats soundsystem. You actually get alot of extras with the e-boost here in Sweden and the heat pump is standard. I fell in love with the car after my first test drive even more than the polestar that was my second choice. And that wasn't even the e-boost model. Unfortunately I have to wait until January maybe December if I'm lucky to get it.
Yes it is my first ev so Im really happy. I think this car is the most bang for the buck and still really fun. My old car before this is a beat up old Peugeot 208 it has served me well but now I want some fun!
Compared to the ID.3 it's very close, but looks a bit better outside, looks a bit better inside, drives a bit better and, like for like, it's a bit cheaper while more exclusive. If Cupra can ramp up the production soon it'll sell quite a few of them.
Would the AR function on the HUD work with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto? Wether it be simple functionality or the whole hog of the display directions.
I checked the cupra out on the e salon here in Prague in early 2022 and was totally disappointed:all the tech flaws that the ID family has, weird cockpit design, and very very cheap feeling of all the interior materials except for the seats. Looks are much better than ID3 but that is not really difficult 😂, no frunk, pretty hefty consumption, no backseat audio... overall I was really disappointed by the cheap feel inside. Also has no punch and real power. Wayyyyy behind the Kia EV6
Kia costs 15k more in Northern Europe than the Cupra. That's like comparing a Golf to an E-Class and then wondering why they are different. "The cheap plastics" comment strikes me as a weird one. Especially coming from someone who has "Tesla" on their handle. Talk about cheap. Cupra quiet at high speeds, just like an ID3, and that "'hefty consumption" is only an issue in the winters here. It's very middle of the pack consumption wise. Don't know about ID3's infotainment and how the updates have changed it, but as of right now I found no issues with the Cupra. Everything was working fine. Hard to find a better EV hatch at that price, IMO.
I see a lot of them here in Prague, second most common EV here next to Model 3 I think. Love it, cool design and EV special, not just a battery propped into a standard ICE. I went for Model 3 LR because I need more range (did so far 11500km in 4 months) but totally love the I3

Good question! It integrates the whole shebang, including turn-based AR data :)
