A very useful video but I think that Cupra should send a link of this video to everyone who purchases the car as the online manual is laborious, and difficult to find specific information. After waiting for 7 months for the car to arrive, the sales people at Twickenham, London, although decent and knowledgeable, did not show me a quarter of the features illustrated in this video. It would have been even better to show to charge/connect the cable when using a public, untethered charger.
Half the manual is taken up with safety warnings. The weirdest features aren't in it. That power point in the boot - only works when you're sitting in the driver's seat, for example. I've had mine a year and still advise people to wait a few years before buying an EV, including this one. Thank heaven they are still slow in producing them - an opportunity to avoid jumping too soon. OK for trips to the supermarket, sure.
I agree with your comments but I think you should take your car back to the dealership and get them to look at it as you should be able to charge your car using the yellow charging cable without having to sit in the driver's seat. I took mine back to the dealership after only 5 months as my car would not charge using the yellow charging cable at public chargers. It took 5 weeks for Cupra to look at my car but when they did, carrying out diagnosis tests, which resulted in them giving me a new cable - there was a fault in the old cable. Also make sure you connect the cable to the charging point before connecting it to your car. I like the car very much. It drives well and looks good but it does not surprise me that Cupra came last in the recent 'What Car' reliability survey. I purchased a top spec Born in Australia but it unfortunately doesn’t come with heads up display, the app or all the safety features associated with that technology. I love the way the car drives but would only consider buying another one if we could get the full featured model or even better American specifications with dual motor.

By 2025 we will see many new models from other manufacturers. The next Cupra Born to Australia will be made in China. If made in Germany or even Spain I’d be ok with that, but China, No thanks.
So does adapted cruse control come as standard? And then the predictive cruse control is an optional extra? Its been really hard to find out if acc comes as standard on the v3 (i say v3 as ive put an order in for one).
What happens if i get out of the car but i want the music to keep playing? I often get our of the car for a quick task or errand and would like the music to keep playing. What if i'm parked with friends and relaxing and want the music to keep playing while we're outside having a drink?
I took ownership of an almost new V2 yesterday, and whilst I get to grips with it, could someone tell me if and where you can reset the trip meter to zero (on both infotainment screen and dashboard), plus is there anyway to turn the reading lights on, as I've spent most of the day trying to fathom this two things out to no avail!?
Trouble is the EV platform is VW and despite the stated charging speed figures, it doesn’t deliver those! When you complain they say it’s only a range (albeit it never gets in to the range!). My experience was DC charging 20-80% is more like 50-55 minutes not 35. AC charging about 80% of the time was only half charging due to some battery safe mode that apparently randomly cuts the charge so on a cheap overnight 6hr charge I was getting 20kw not 40! Big difference. I had mine for 4 months, it then spent 6 weeks in garage and I got a BM i4 instead which is brilliant and does exactly what it says on the can!!
What “Cupra app?” Doesn’t exist. We’ve had our Born for over six months and still no sign of the promised app. Cupra staff have no idea when or if it will be released!
Now my Question after watching an interesting vid by a engineer who was quoting info from a proffessor who's expertise is in Battery technology was recommending to get the best life span on your Battery is to charge it after most journey's. This was based on the chemical degradation of the batter i.e. Ni/Cd not LFP! He recommends this because he said a certain reaction whilst charging overtime is what de-gregates the battery so only charging smaller portions helps reduce this! Now interestingly MG recommends that where possible keep the battery from dropping below 50% i.e. charge it so that it remains above 50% unless you are on a long journey, they say this helps the batterie longevity! So what is Cupr's take on all this?
I hear the infotainment display is a bag of crap....sliders with no lighting or hauptic feedback.... Whatever happened to good old buttons cupra....come ln....
I’d have got more out of mine if it performed to the stated technical specification on charging but it doesn’t! Therefore it is frankly pretty useless for practical purposes

The stated performance is 5-80% in 35 minutes on a 58(62) battery. So 75% of 58 is 43.5 so in 35 minutes it needs to average 75kwh over that range. The best I’ve ever achieved was 72 on ionity once - all this has been scheduled out to Listers and VWs solicitors in detail and none of my figures have ever been challenged at all! Not anything. Not one charge, one number: nothing. It simply doesn’t perform ever at that stated level. In contrast my BMW i4 just hits the numbers ever single time

Connectivity is due in 2025, but it's a long wait. Admittedly it's not just Cupra that brings in EVs without wireless connectivity to Australia.
