4 years ago i turnded 40 years old. i was working underground building a fucking tunnel. i was on that construction site for about 2 months. i hated every hour there. the day i turned 40, i was supposed to repair something on the surface. it was 6 in the morning, and i was asked to get into a car so we can get to the place we had to repair shit. i was sitting in the car. the radio was on, THE RADIO - first time i have heard music on that fucking place. and this song was playing. i was almost crying as the sun sets up and i listened to this song. lonley on my 40th birthday. nobody knew. i did not give a shit. since that day this song became core memeory to me.

Honestly, I see all these comments that take the song as a pretty positive one due to the title, but I've always seen "supergirl" as being almost an ironic insult. Like "she's so tough, she can fly, but then she screams in my face and tells me to leave." It's pretty much about a girl who can't take any kind of help or who is very emotionally negligent and destructive to herself and that harms the ones around her too. "She's sewing seeds, she's burning trees" is pretty much saying that this relationship could be something amazing if only she's allow it to grow. The seed and the potential is there, but the moment it becomes something she burns it down. That's how I see it honestly. I relate very much to it in that way, so maybe that's why I immediately noticed that.

To the point that only songs like this can relate to the situation

Honestly, I see all these comments that take the song as a pretty positive one due to the title, but I've always seen "supergirl" as being almost an ironic insult. Like "she's so tough, she can fly, but then she screams in my face and tells me to leave." It's pretty much about a girl who can't take any kind of help or who is very emotionally negligent and destructive to herself and that harms the ones around her too.
"She's sewing seeds, she's burning trees" is pretty much saying that this relationship could be something amazing if only she's allow it to grow. The seed and the potential is there, but the moment it becomes something she burns it down.
That's how I see it honestly. I relate very much to it in that way, so maybe that's why I immediately noticed that.
