You've gotta give a lot of props to David though. He's really done a lot to make the CTWC scene (as well as monthly tetris) more noticed and recognized. Personally, I don't think I'd ever have a way to practice CT enough (no, the version on Switch's NES service doesn't count because you're not really using classic hardware or a classic controller) to participate despite having played the game quite a good amount over the years, but if I could ever manage the funds and the time, I would honestly go just to watch and hang out with some of the best Tetris players in the world, because a lot of these people seem pretty chill. I mean, it's hard to imagine toxicity and bad attitudes over Tetris, but nowadays, you can never tell what video game will experience a poorly-behaved fanbase, so I'm glad Tetris seems to have mostly escaped that fate thus far.
For sure, this really can't be understated. David is doing a great job cataloging everything for the community. He's definitely helped a lot of new players be introduced into the scene
Late jokes aside, this series is extremely high quality and I can definitely see why it takes so long to come out (especially since you're working on lots of other videos, too). Your experience videos are really making me want to go to an in-person competition one day... Keep up the great work, and no rush!
YES! Was so excited to see this in my sub box today. Knowing how 2020 panned out, and the 2021 tournament being virtual again, it was amazing seeing everyone together here in 2019. It’s great that online play has opened it up to so many talented new players, but you really can’t beat the atmosphere here! I’m in London and am desperate to see it in person one day…. I’ll make it one day! 😅 can’t wait for part three!
