RIP Jonas Neubauer. He was so young.
A lot of really sad stuff happening right now. Sending love to anyone reading this. Cherish this day and those that you can share it with. ❤️
What happened to him? Sorry for asking but this caught my attention
he passed away
@@BunnyBoing may he rest in peace and live a good afterlife
@@BunnyBoing man 2020 really sucked hope this year gets better
For all of us
Did he really pass away? Fuck :/
"Take the triple, don't be a hero." Words to live by.

Musicians have a special knack for Tetris... hope to see you at the next CTWC Rob!
Hell Yeah!! \0/
Can't wait
Online
Where the long bar m8
Let's see that o-spin tetris!
24:21 Rob literally inventing Rolling on the spot! 🤣
I've noticed that, that techinque he used is common in piano, named as "repeated note". Also the guitar players (as I am) uses a technique en left hand to reach better hand positions or to play faster patterns called "substitution". I saw Jason Richardson playing an exercise touching just one note but with for fingers, very similar to that rolling technique.
Rolling is not an invention per se, it’s been around for decades for other games (and as mentioned above, it’s also kinda used in piano) but it was often disregarded for classic Tetris because the dpad is so small that it seemed impossible to use the technique efficiently. But Cheez is the one who came up with the idea of rolling on the *bottom* of the controller instead of the top, which is what changed the tetris game forever!
Rest in peace, Jonas. Everyone who payed attention could see how special you were.
Payed? Really?
Mother fuckin illiterates all over
Everyone : oh i remember this game when i was a kid
Jonas : Excuse me do you even know about the 2020 meta right side tucking situation ?
BOOM Tetris in our childhood lol
Its actually kinda crazy how much strategy is involved within the high level tetris play
@@lucasimonelli5038 for real
me: oh i remember that addiction, blocks here, blocks there blocks everywhere, close your eyes blocks, go to bed blocks and blocks that dont fit what a nightmare! must order blocks! glad i kicked that habit but happy some of have made something positive out of it
Do u even kno how to hypertap u nerd???
“See, the cool thing about Tetris is LEFT LEFT LEFT”
sooooooo
nascar
This is me whenever my friends play haha
r.i.p Jonas, the tetris community will miss you
You can shed tears that he is gone,
or you can smile because he has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that he'll come back,
or you can open your eyes and see all he's left.
Yes i stole this
His impact went beyond the Tetris community.
Didn't knew that Jonas talked english so well knowing he is from Albacete, Spain.
Probably born in Spain, grew up in the US.

Rob was attempting to roll before rolling was a method what a legend
Literally just watched this video yesterday and couldn’t help but love how friendly and awesome that Jonas was the entire video. I loved how despite having incredible skill in the game, he doesn’t seem remotely egotistical about it and instead comes across as an extremely likable and friendly guy.
Now, I found out that he just passed away. This is fucking heartbreaking. Dude represented the gaming community very well and just seemed like such an awesome dude. Rest In Peace Jonas.
Just knew him from these tournaments. And right after found out he has passed away. You are right about his humbleness and professional attitude.
I am deeply saddened.
What a great guy he was.
R.I.P. Jonas
Yeah man I watched this vid awhile back and loved it and then I got into the game and wanted to learn some and decided to watch this video again and I look through the comments and find out that he died. I was pretty bummed.
Anyway, Jonas is too humble. His final against Joseph is also one of the greatest matches in tetris history
Go watch greentea vs joseph its the best match ever no doubt
@@lucasimonelli5038 IT was the best esport match ever. Go watch ITZ Sharky analysis of it :D
Boom Tetris for Jeff
If someone told me i was ever gonna hear Jonas Neubauer say "Boom! Tetris for Rob Scallon" i would have said yeah right :D
I couldnt stop smiling when i heard that :D
Boom, Tetris for Jeff!
@@matthammond3563 i wanted to write that xD
"boom, single for Rob!" At like 19 was great lmao
Jonas: So what's philosophically happening in your brain-
Rob: dad help
Jonas gives the clearest instructions where "yep", "no", "to the right" and "to the left" can mean about 7 different things.
RIP Jonas. Such a lovable dude.
Rest in peace to an absolute legend. The greatest representative the classic tetris community could have asked for.
i'm going to miss him, fuck 2021 man

Bruh how did I find you here
With 5 pieces too, super rare by accident
You can tell that Jonas was also stressed hard because of that.
I saw that too ;(
So I’m not the only one who flinched so hard when he missed the PC LOL

Rest in peace legend. The tetris community will always be thankful for what you have given them.
It's an eerie feeling when the various random things I'm interested in unexpectedly come together.
He's like the Bob Ross of Tetris. Very enjoyable. Learned a thing or two as well. Shame to hear of his early death. RIP.
RIP Jonas Neubauer, one of the best player and one of the most influential player in the Classic Tetris community :(
RIP Jonas... I just read the news.
Damnit
I love how for a game, as fundamentally simple as Tetris, the pro scene can still make strategies and introduce jargon into it and make it a legitimate competition at a professional level
Dude this is insane because not only am I a musician that watches your videos all the time Rob but I am also a Tetris fanatic that has watched so many of Jonas‘s videos... this is nuts seeing you guys come together!
I feel like there’s so many synchronicity is between us Rob because I’ve even recorded with Vince before and I’ve seen him in your videos and also I went to high school with the dudes from Cap’n Jazz and Joan of Ark!
Hit me up if you want to do some sort of collaboration...I’m a multi-instrumentalist myself
S0 basically TH-cam peaked for you with this video. It's all downhill from here.
did you like personally know the kinsella brothers? i think that's really cool
SweetZombiJesus hahaha...exactly!
DoodleNoodle26 Tim was a couple years older than me but I think Mike was my year…we hung out in different crowds.
After high school I became friends with Vic Vallareal (Cap’n Jazz).

Rob - would it be possible to upload the unedited version of this vid? Would have loved to take in all the tips and laughs you guys had. Jonas seemed like such an amazing person 😭♥️
Just ridin' the grief train through Tetris Town. The passing of Jonas really hit me hard. CTWC is not gonna be the same without him. He just had such a happy, positive attitude.

Thanks for helping build such a positive happy community. Rest in Peace Jonas.
Coming over here to pay respect to Jonas. May you rest in peace and your memories be carried on forevermore!
We miss you Jonas we all loved you very much❤️ R.I.p.
He always had such a gruff exterior when he was in the zone at competitions, but pieces like this show how truly soft mannered and nice of a person he was. RIP Jonas.
This is actually hard to see right now :'(
Fun fact: before piece bags (where you're guaranteed one of each piece every six pieces) it's definitely possible to have an impossible set. It's been proven that alternating Z and S pieces are impossible to sustain.
The paper is called How to Lose at Tetris, and you can read it here: citeseerx.ist.psu.edu/viewdoc/download?doi=10.1.1.55.8562&rep=rep1&type=pdf
@@donnguyen166 In the classic version of the tetris game, each block is generated in a completely random way - there is no rule that you have to get every single one per seven pieces. You can get the same block 10 times in a row and not get another one until the end of the game. This is one of the main differences between more modern versions of this game and the original one, thanks to which in modern versions of this game you are able to score more points in a shorter time and often also without the risk that RNG will destroy your fun.
There will always a Tetris for you, Jonas ! Thanks for for what you did !
RIP to this legend. Fly high
didn't expect that epic collabo
RIP Jonas Neubauer
Is Rob Scallon was the real tetris "rolling" playstyle inventor? 😮
Just going around and watching Jonas play after news of his passing... It doesn't make the news hurt less.
