Non-luxury vehicles, such as this Sorento, seem luxury tier to me nowadays. They've gotten so high quality and so nice. I feel like maybe consumers are being duped into spending a lot more money on mainstream vehicles than they really need to.

As 2024 Sorento PHEV owner, Kia quality still has issues. It might not be blown engines or trashed transmission…hopefully. There are many clunks and squeaks from suspension and steering wheel in just a couple thousand miles. The alignment was off fresh off the dealer lot. We had a situation where the car was immobilized due to a transmission fault that required disconnecting the 12v battery. As an owner of American, Swedish, and Japanese cars, I’d put the quality just before American cars and behind most Japanese automakers. It’s not as bad as uninformed people thinking they’re 1980’s trash , but they have plenty of room for improvement.

Why NO DIESEL ?
