"Before you begin" ritual: set difficulty to hard, set special to X, dash to manual, and color style to comic. Recently got an arcade stick and it makes this game even better

I emulate the arcade version. Those options make me want to try the console. Thanks.

They seriously just need to release this on the e-shops! This is the best version and I miss playing it so much!

As many Neogeo games are available. I don’t doubt they’ll release this at some point. IF they don’t put it on their own snes emulator.

The reason they haven't re-released it is because of licencing issues. Just emulate it.

TMNT Turtles in Time was on the cover of the first video game magazine I ever bought. That same book also introduced me to a little known game called Street Fighter 2.
Turtles in Time was the first SNES game I ever rented, and the third SNES game I ever played.

For contract reasons the arcade title was named Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Ii: The Arcade Game. III: The Manhattan Project was exclusive to NES but is in no correlation of the 80s tv show storyline. IV: Turtles in Time was originally meant to be called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Arcade Game 2 but was changed to Turtles in Time upon discovering its plot related to time travel

This was the first game I remember beating on the hardest difficulty on my own, and I was so proud of myself over it.

For Steve, yes, you can choose whether to do the slam or screen throw. The inputs are slightly different. This is why this was the best version of the game. The controls let you do whatever you wanted to do. You can even set a command for running in the options (forward, forward).

Believe it or not, the boss fight against Rat King and the entire Technodrome Level were exclusive to the SNES version. The arcade version uses Cement Man as the boss of Prehistoric Turtlesauras instead of Slash, and Tokka and Rahzar were the bosses of the Skull and Crossbones level instead of the much superior Bebop and Rocksteady in pirate garb.

To whip the enemies it was press the attack button without any movement while they are staggered. For the throw it was towards the enemy and attack button after stagger. I think. Man this is an awesome game and brought back many good memories.

I remember playing this in the arcade burning coins in the 90's, seeing the foot soldiers being sent towards the screen was mind blowing, lol

I had so much fun playing this on the SNES as a kid. I had the PS3 remake version, but I think that was taken off the PSN Store. Why didn't they re-release it on PS4? 🤔

Also, it was considered pretty terrible. I only ever played the demo.

this was the best port of the arcade, and technically was an upgrade, since it included 2 levels and bosses not present in arcade version and like they said the music was way better.

      @micahiwaasa9304 4 ปีที่แล้ว

The controls are also way better. I think they misstate the auto-run at the beginning of the video. The arcade has the auto-run. The only thing the SNES is really missing is the Coming Out of Their Shell music.

In The Toys That Made Us, it says the TMNT were created when the two creators were just fucking around and one of them drew the dumbest thing they could think of and both just kept adding to it.

Yep, Slash is still the hardest boss in this game. I always lose a couple of lives when fighting him.

Dragon's Crown, D&D Tower of Doom, and D&D Shadow of Mystara are also good spiritual successors. The two D&D's come in a cheap Steam bundle or you can emulate them. Dragon's Crown has a bunch of physical and digital ports.

I wish they would release a "Turtles in Time HD". Do a similar thing to what was done with "Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix", with the redrawn sprites for both the original and SNES versions. I think it would work better for a game like this than it did with Street Fighter. Obviously give people the option to play with or with out redrawn sprites. Give it online, and if you want to get fancy allow the SNES version to have 4 player just because.

MrSkippyable It's at 0:07 when Max said if there's an Arcade version yet they already played the Arcade version of this game years ago. I'm aware of the SNES version, it's how me & my brother played & beat the game (my favorite being Michelangelo) although I want to play the Arcade version.
