- Last year, I blew up two engines and only finished half a lap. This year, I'm looking for redemption. Can I finish a race this time? Can I podium? Can I win in dominating fashion with zero pressure from the Corvettes? Damn right I can! Part 1 from Mid Ohio, my home track. Practice, qualifying and Race 1 with data. Unfortunately no live stream from this event so no external camera or commentary from Kyle Heyer or Greg Creamer. Enjoy the extra data to make up for it though.

To be fair, the corvettes are also detuned and run a similar power to weight. Just a lot more power and weight than my car.
@@EricKutilRacing Yup certain tracks will fair better with Eric's car and others might be better at other tracks. Kickass Driving. Your living the dream right now. Maybe in a few years I might dip my toes in GLTC with my FRS.

Dude these videos are so addicting. The new on-screen telemetry is awesome! I do not know if it is a coincidence, but I can see the IAT's climbing when you have dirty air from another car directly in front of you. So cool!

data overlay is awesome. How did you do it?
It's pretty complicated haha. I use race render 3 and created a custom template and a transparent image of the ic7 display. All gauges added manually and reference the ecu data

Yeah mid ohio is a tough track to pass on when you're slower in top end speed. Unfortunately for him, he had transmission issues all weekend

Hey Eric, are you tapping the brakes on the straights to make sure they're there before you need them?
That and firm up the pedal due to knock back. I made a video about it before this one. I made some improvements and it helped reduce the amount of a soft pedal. It's mainly a habit now
@@EricKutilRacing so I'm prepping my FC for wheel to wheel. I just fitted a Wildwood pedal set and MK60 abs (not active yet) would you recommend me doing this? I still need to go do some test laps and I'm pretty solid with left foot braking.
Those oil temps are crazy , it’s wild what a k series can handle .
That's with an extremely large oil cooler too. My sensor placement is on the sandwich plate though, could be misleading and reading the out flow, (pre cooler). I don't know for sure tbh
@@EricKutilRacing when you went to the larger oil cooler did you notice any significant oil pressure loss? Combating oil temps on my car and scared of going to , to big pf a cooler
Even when they f....up, they still continue to impede your lap....
It is what it is lol. Dealing with 60 cars is always going to cause issues.

Just stumbled across you. It's weird seeing a civic running with vettes and e46s. My dad used to race a 90 civic so hatchback in ITA in the scca when I was a kid but he was only running with other civics and 1st Gen neons and such.
Thanks man! The Hondas have so much potential man, especially with K24 power! I ran a little ITA with an eg hatch and then STL. Those were fun days, but yeah always raced against other Hondas and Mazdas.
@EricKutilRacing you probably raced with my dad at one point then. His car is a black hatchback with a lime green stripe around the bottom. It was usually number 51. He's raced at mid Ohio a bunch of times but our home track was Nelson ledges.

Sounds like the motorcycle 300 and 400 cc bike class lol. All the cheater bikes in 300 and 400 class but they don’t dyno them in Colorado. We call them the cheater bikes!

Some driver-cam overlayed with the audio of the announcers talking about your race domination would be welcome in a future video. Keep up the good work driving and filming/editing.
That's how I always edit them. However, there was no live stream or announcers for this event.

@@EricKutilRacing I want to enter the racing world, but not sure how to pick up a sponsor. Do you just reach out to them? & pray or is there a way about going about it
hybrid racing isn't his team name, it's the main sponsor, they're a honda performance parts shop. and it's not easy at all to get sponsors. You need to already have a good car and experience that would be worth their interest, it's like becoming an employee, you need to have a good resume
If tht happens to me I would be crying I would be having tunnel vision seeing them passing by but the part wen ur car stops going it reminds me the movie cars3 wen McQueen was racing n tht black car passed him n he started slowing down and the others cars start going by.

8400 but I keep it under 8200 usually
@EricKutilRacing I don't know how you have your car set up, but I would think that as soon as you went into 2nd gear the rev limiter would've caught it.
In any case great driving and great vid.
The rev limiter won't prevent a money shift because your wheels will force the transmission and engine to spin higher
