Hi Thanks for sharing. Looks like you are downstream from Whalley Abbey. Use to fish in abbey grounds but they do not allow you now. The pike have come from 8 miles upstream and when they had flooding they got washed downstream and they cannot get back. Love to see someone enjoying their fishing, stay safe Micky
Nice vid mate, lovely location on your doorstep. The Orange mark denotes the fishes religious disposition..........it wouldn't like to be eaten on a Friday............😉😂
Apart from lure fishing for perch Chub are next on my list as my favourite fish to catch on Lures .. I only ever ultralight fish and like you say when you get a decent size chub they don’t pull ard lad !!! In the summer Fishing under Willow trees in fast flowing water and hooking into a monster chub it’s just awesome … as say a lot of people don’t bother with that style of lure in the cold months but if you can keeping any lure as slow and low definitely does the business. Sometimes the rules don’t always apply and when the fish are in the mood they will let you know !!! That looks a cracking spot buddy & you enjoy it. It’s nice to find areas that haven’t been hammered or fish been taken away for food as what happens with some of our favourite spots. Each to their own but catch and release for me all day long … cracking video and keep it up buddy … PS Ya buddy George Will be down there soon and look forward to the mighty duo doing a video again 👍🏽🎣🤣😀
What a lovely comment John!! And I can’t agree with you more - Perch are superb but I have to say I have a real soft spot for the Chub! They tend to be game rain or shine if you put in the time! I’m a lucky lad to be fair smashing little spot and let’s see what the future brings! Ps he’s got it eyes on it already and it’s a WIP!! 🤙🏻
Fished the on another clubs stretch below the lower stretch you fished and above the other stretch you were on yesterday . I went for chub and grayling with the bfs gear , didn’t get no chub but did get grayling on a little soft plastic . Ive had chub to 6ish from that upper stretch you were on when I was in that club and perch and barbel there aswell , on the stick not lures though .
Hi lee thanks your comment class bit of insight! Used the soft plastics and not managed to snag a grayling! Heard about the barbel and perch!! What made you leave the club?! :o or are you still a member?:)
@@japanesefishingadventures Its a brilliant bit of river and the dace fishing is awesome down there and there’s a surprising number of gudgeon aswell . The other stretches they have further up the river are not bad too . I was in the club for about 35 years but dropped this year along with a few other lads I fish with for a few reasons , the main one being they’ve give the big res up to the match lads every Sunday year round which has buggered the piking up for us because it’s the only day we get for full days fishing . They also let that volunteer AT bailiff who doesn’t fish but thinks he’s in the fbi and owns the river tell them that people who lure fish for perch , chub , trout and grayling that they have to use wire traces which will apparently somehow stop people poaching trout and salmon 🤷♂️.
@@leen8939 interesting to hear - thanks Lee!! I’ve had some smashing fish out of there too! Not the first member to tell me they’ve had it with the volunteer bailiffs to be fair! And for the record the Bayliff should check out my video of a 9ib sea trout smashing my roach lure with a big fat wire trace on 😂😂 jeeeez! Thank you so much for the heads up though and a shame about the res as well to be fair! Have you had a look at Southport? Anglezarke and Rivington?
@@japanesefishingadventures you’ll never forgot him when you run into him , his hearts in the right place but he really does wind people up . I’ve actually joined Southport again this season , I was a member years ago and used to fish the res’s and the drains and had some decent fish out .
@@leen8939 pahah okay! Will keep my eyes pealed for him! Oh smashing stuff, let me know how you get on! If you’re a Piker Southport is the one! The drains are fishing so well atm as well!
Mint stuff, Harry, I think this is your best so far! Especially as its in mid January, with most of us grateful for a bite or two! 😊
Haha thanks Dave! Have to say the conditions were just right and to be fair I was quite lucky 😅
