Another wonderful season of the B&B!
Brandon really is B&B coded. He made some scarily accurate casual corner guesses haha.
The mee-maw bit was hilarious. I almost forgot about it, Liana.😂
Just learned this week my friend’s friend’s roomamate’s cousin is Brandon Donlon and I’ve never felt more famous 😍
edit: i also found it a funny moment that while making fun of austin from bb17 mike said “i wish liz was on big brother” and it just made it sound like he completely forgot
about liz FROM big brother who was literally austin’s girlfriend and the 2nd place finisher of the season

I don’t think Liz should have been allowed to leave her lane and go into Kenzie’s lane to get her board to help her count holes. If that is okay, then it means it would also be ok to go into Maria’s lane to get her board and keep her from counting holes. You can look, you can verbally help, but YOU CANNOT TOUCH YOUR OPPONENTS EQUIPMENT!

The issue is there is a literal video of all the times challenges have been broken. She heard the exact rules and made an audible that worked. If she tried to sabotage Maria instead of help Kenzie, I imagine Jeff would stop that. It was still so close that it was a situation where Liz just accurately found a loophole in the moment like many before her. People have been memorizing and rebuilding piece by piece at home the puzzles they would play on the island. Survivor solved that. They'll fix this too. Everything is downstream of gameplay. If there is a bigger take away for me, separate the challenge, it's that people don't quite know how to identify social game moment and break down strategy that isn't big moves. We need a different paradigm by which to judge the players which is more in line with what's actually happening on the island. Even the comment about outwit, outplay, outlast, when the isn't the rules for the judge to use is a false expectation.

They’ve had similar challenges in both the final five of One World and the final 4 immunity in Blood vs Water. Kim had to count the pieces in the puzzle, the words/letters? in the puzzle, and the skulls on the puzzle to get the combination lock. The tricky thing there was that one of the skulls was a cow skull while the rest were human skulls. In BvW, Tyson had to count the pieces, words/letters, and stairs on the giant water slide.

58:36 I don’t listen to Pod Save America, but I did some digging and it seems like Jon Lovett’s last episode came out on May 7th. Now idk if they record the same day or the day before, but it’s possible 47 saw Venus’s episode, which aired on May 8th. The wiki says filming began on May 13th.
If the last episode they saw was Tiffany’s then they might not be thinking about the idol curse, but if they saw Venus’s it’ll definitely be front of mind. 2 idols in a row is kind of funny, 3 in a row is insane. And they definitely don’t know about 4 in a row.
1:01:41 I believe that the fact that Jeff made a declaration that you cannot help one player against another in the final challenge kinda proves that it was cheating. If Liz does not help Kenzie, she does not win as shown by Kenzie not being able to figure out how to finish the challenge after the puzzle.
I wasn’t a big fan of the move, but if it’s not against the rules and production doesn’t stop it, it’s not cheating.

In my opinion Charlie lost funnily enough because his game was a different version of risk vs reward. He had a game that was pretty likely to get him to the final 3, but the risk was in not being able to get credit for what were supposed to be his big moves - the Q and Maria boots. Everyone already wanted Q and Maria out by the time he was ready to take those shots, so he had nothing to flash to the jury. The risk is that maybe Maria wins multiple consecutive immunities and you can never lead the charge to get her out. Sure his game was very intentional and got him to the end, but getting to the end isn’t enough when you have two people sitting next to you that can claim the same thing.
If his final tribal had been better and Kenzie’s had been worse, the result may have been different, but Charlie felt robotic and calculated in his answers while Kenzie seemed more open and less calculated and just more likable while still delivering strong answers.

56:53 I think Charlie did about as well as you could merging the social game and the strategic game. He had good relationships with pretty much everyone in the game. Really the whole final 3 was made up of the players most liked by their castmates. Kenzie just had an even better social game than Charlie’s, but he certainly wasn’t lacking.
53:41 I don’t think those two ideas are competing at all. In 45 sticking with your tight ally helps your game. Dee helped save Julie and won. Austin could have saved Drew at final 6, didn’t, and lost.
In 46 we saw turning on your number 1 ally wrecks your game, and can get you immediately targeted/voted out. Tevin targeted Soda because she ditched Venus, her perceived number 1, and he didn’t feel like he could trust someone like that. Then Tevin targeted Soda super early, and was next out.
Meanwhile Kenzie almost turned on Tiffany, changed her mind, which led to Maria being the target and Kenzie staying under the radar, and ultimately winning the game. Granted that’s more of a lesson for 48, as the last episode 47 saw was probably Tiffany’s, *maybe* Venus’s. Jon Lovett’s last episode of Pod Save America was May 7th, and Venus’s boot episode was May 8th.

The negativity and toxicity from the community over the last couple episodes ruined the experience of this season for me, it’s a shame people can’t just enjoy a tv show and a game for what it is. I can only laugh at the Charlie is robbed crowd.

@@GreenMagicMachine yea I’ve actually watched the seasons I don’t just parrot what I hear on the internet. Jesse, Cody, Owen, Karla, James, Gabler, etc was a great cast and there was some way underrated gameplay although the season overall was conservative. 45 had a decent cast but such a predicable boot order with the most boring post-merge in foreverrrrr. 41 I just simply don’t like
55:22 Really? Because the biggest takeaway I’ve seen is that Kenzie is absolutely a deserving winner, but Maria’s vote (or at least her explanations for it) makes zero sense. Like if you swap Maria out with any of the three Charlie voters I think there would be way less discourse about it. Yeah there’d be some, that always happens when a strategic player loses to a social player. But it’s the Maria part that’s caused the most discourse.
Charlie was so boring. Kenzie had my vote from the beginning. Great job!
Charlie played the clinical game that was....BORING!!!! Too behind the scenes. No flash. Defering credit. If there ever was a case of all steak no sizzle, Charlies game was it.
