Ease of install, I would say the Seasons line from HD supply is the one. Typical install is 15 minutes or less. The blade brackets are preinstalled on the motor. The blades have a twist lock on them. I typically install the light kit on the floor, hang it, add blades, chains, globes and bulbs and I'm out.
My husband & I can’t express how appreciative we are for the to the point video.. Too many people talk waaaay too much instead of just demonstrating the install… I’ve hit the subscribe button..
Awesome! Thank you so much Stacie! I like videos that get right to it as well so that's why I just dive right in with no fluff. Thank you so much for watching!
Just wanted to say thanks. Needed to get into the fan and fix it. Your instructions were more clear than others I’ve tried to follow. I just had to go in reverse.
Thanks!!! I'm going to do this so I ain't gotta depend on nobody else ta do it, I just got one installed. Had to wait on when there schedule was open then paid a good bit. No thanks I need two more at least. I ain't scared, I can do anything a man can just as good or better, I watched him do it and you. I'll save this 😊☮️
over the years I've learned installer friendly often ends in user unfriendly and parts that fly off. lol would have been nice to have that type of junk 25+ years ago, 9 million screws, fiber and lock washers all installed by hand and screw driver. only adding to the fun 20' high vaulted ceilings and mile long down rods :((
Wow this was perfect! Detailed but simple. Thanks so much for the CLOSe UPs! You'd be surprised how many ppl do how to videos from the other side of the room. Im in FL too btw! This will b my first "electrical" project 🤞🤞⚡
Good job. I don’t care for replacing lights in bedrooms because you can’t under the fan with the ladder you have to stand on the bed, or move the bed Standing on the bed in mine option that’s unprofessional. Thanks for sharing the video! Keep them coming when you can.
Thanks for the video man got to change four fans in my house this coming weekend, never done fans before hopefully I don't get electrocuted LOL LOL thanks for the video good information I'll keep referring to it for the wiring... :)
Not usually. The wires are usually in a box above the fan in the ceiling. I've never seen the wires be in the attic to disengage. Thank you so much for watching!
Hey I was wondering how someone would get into this trade? I currently do maintenance at a factory third shift for a while now but the pay isn’t that great and I put in 60+ hours a week. I keep seeing jobs in my area for residential maintenance and did some research and it seems like something I’d be interested in. The only thing I’m not well versed in is hvac systems. Is there a good reliable way I can learn the skills I need for for the job?
Yes, most companies will pay for your HVAC EPA course to get you certified. Also, TH-cam has tons of HVAC training videos. My channel has tons of HVAC training videos as well. Just start putting in applications. You'll get hired. Thank you so much for watching Jason!
My wires are always different colors than what videos like this show. I can do the fan but I’m definitely no electrician. Can you make a video that explains the different color combinations of what connects to what ( color wise ) and maybe explain why it is that way?
Different colors for different states due to the codes. Here is Florida, black is hot, white is neutral, green is ground and red goes to blue for light kit.
who needs a fan rated box. look at the main bedroom they didn't even use the electric box to hold the mounting bracket. they used wood screws up threw the drywall into the joist
I'm an older woman is it really that easy . I'm scared about the electric part but do you think I can do it ? The handy man wants to charge me 75.00 dollars a ceiling fan .
All apartments are usually rated for fans. I've never worked at a complex that wasn't rated for fans. They do that so they can charge more for rent. Thank you so much for watching Adam!
Installing fans is a piece of cake! I always liked setting up the fan on the floor then installing it on the ceiling, its how I was showed how to do it. Wait, you aint wearing your uniform! Youre fired!
snap on blades would have been nice 25+ years ago. mumbles something about whole developments and multi-unit condos with 4 to 10+ fans per unit and spending months just assembling and hanging fans (as part of finish install). nothing was easy then and cordless tools were 9.6 and 12v drills with not enough batteries! screw drivers it was. **ALSO, the installer hanger hook is great, as is other mounting types, we cut and bent metal clothes hanger sections in large crude S hooks. I probably still have some in a tool/junk box and other places.
Looks great, and with a brighter bulb installed that’s all the light you need. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxWF88GpljEn-0o34vtLFazEQ5h5Q33SjU As far as ease of installation- this was my first ceiling fan and it took about 3 hours because I had no idea what I was doing and also it’s helpful to have a second set of hands and a magnetic drill bit. Works great.
I can't believe you have to change out a fan on resident request. Tomorrow I'm changing out a compressor. Poor girl's been without AC for a week. Me and my main maintenance tech has been sick with covid for 3 weeks now.
the first one I did years ago I just shut the light switch off and checked the pull chain for the light and fan and decided it was safe. When I pulled the cap off the red I ended up on my ass on the floor....the worse part was the two stoner residents were laying in the bed watching me the whole time...very embarrassing!

@@LexVance I appreciate it sir thank you so much
Both fans are Hampton Bay branded, the old one is a Huntington III that I like better, what did you do with the old fan?
Moved it into another room. Thank you so much for watching!

On moving that fan to the other bedroom.
Is the box in the other bedroom fan rated.
who needs a fan rated box. look at the main bedroom they didn't even use the electric box to hold the mounting bracket. they used wood screws up threw the drywall into the joist
It had a fan in the other bedroom as well. I switched it out with the master bedroom fan. 👍
@@james6794 Yep. 😆 I didn't build the place. Just used the same holes they used into stud.
Great vid sometimes that light kit is a pain in the ass lol also I always check fan rotation sometimes it’s in counterclockwise mode lol
Thank you so much for watching Willie!
Thank the post
Thank you so much for watching Alvin!
I'm an older woman is it really that easy . I'm scared about the electric part but do you think I can do it ? The handy man wants to charge me 75.00 dollars a ceiling fan .
Turn the breaker off and no power will be there to hurt you. I believe in you! 💪
Nice work Lance, and with one hand too. Was there a limiter in this fan?
Thank you Mikey! I didn't really look for a limiter. They usually have one though. Thank you so much for watching!
Nice fan skidbro!🪛 Is that your house? 👍
No, just a side job. Good to hear from you Rich!
Great job👍. Lex, have you ever installed a fan over a light fixture and had to install a fan brace? Or are all the apartments rated for fans also?
All apartments are usually rated for fans. I've never worked at a complex that wasn't rated for fans. They do that so they can charge more for rent. Thank you so much for watching Adam!
Installing fans is a piece of cake! I always liked setting up the fan on the floor then installing it on the ceiling, its how I was showed how to do it.

👍😆👍 Good eye. This was a side job over the weekend. Thank you so much for watching David!
My blue to red somehow short circuit when I turn on the fan switch.
Hmm, that's strange. I'd need to be there for this head scratcher 🤔.
Quick connect blades are still kind of overrated because overtime blades can slip out of their arms or can sag because the screws are loose.
Thank you so much for watching Nathan!
