Kayak Fishing On The Little Choctawhatchee River

- I have not been able to get out on the river all year but I finally got to get out there. Me and a couple of friends had a chance to go down the Little Choctawhatchee River and it was a blast! Believe it or not I have never been on this stretch of the river. We put in on HWY 123 NOT 134 like I keep saying in this video lol and we took out at the boat ramp in Clayhatchee Al. Had a great time and catching some fish along the way is always a plus.
Enjoyed....!!! We made the run from Elba down to Kinston on the Pea. Didn't know it could be easily done until I watched your video from last year and found out the left side of the dam had busted.

Love those little creek bass...living in that current is like lifting weights for them! If the water level is right when you get over to the Conecuh, you'll love the rapids there...on the Sepulga River, too!
As much as I gave for my fishing license, it's a wonder I don't chase game wardens down to show it to them! Stay safe!
Yeah I love river fish they fight like crazy! I would like to fish the Conecuh and Sepulga I'll have to look them up.
@@Bamaoutdoors When it warms up some and I get un-gimped, lets get together and do some collaborative vids! You'll have a ride at the landing, that way, without someone having to drive an hour or better to pick you up.

Did this trip today. Water level at Newton was around 5.9 ft. Didn't have to drag over any trees. Little Choctawhatchee was flowing real fast. Was a good time.

Been canoeing for years, but just got kayaks last summer. This was my first trip, not the best choice for round one, but it was fun.

Yes he knows I do not eat just anything lol and that little water fall will get smaller and smaller as summer gets closer.
I was just looking at doing that exact section starting at 123. Was curious how clear it was.
For the most part it was pretty clear. We had one spot that we had to drag the kayak over a tree but it really wasn't bad and one or two more spots that was a little clogged. Overall it wasn't bad at all and it's a nice and shady Creek.

Your welcome! Yes it was hwy 84 bridge. There is a few places that you may have to get out if the water is low but it really is not bad at all to me. I forgot to say in the video that we went to the right at the old power dam. Thanks for watching and commenting!

It's close to Newton. We put in on hwy 123 under the bridge between Newton and Wicksburg.
