This suffers from the same issue Skyrim modders face when they try to turn Skyrim into a Souls-like. No matter how many graphical improvements you make, or how cool and flashy you make your animations, you can't fix a janky, outdated physics engine. The attack animations are weightless and lack impact, the character movements are floaty, and the general feel of the combat really shows this engine's age. There's only so much adding prettier graphics can do, and this seems to be this engine's limit.
This is it, this is what I have been trying to say but wasn't quite clever enough to place. I knew the animations looked good, but at the same time I felt what everyone is saying. Its the physics, they don't work with the animations because real life animation is the result of real life physics. They need a completely new physics engine. Warframes floaty gymnastics has shielded it from showing its age too badly, but the covers are blatantly off here.
You can fix it ,it just would take too much work you would have to overhaul the behaviour system.and revere engineer the game to get the result you want. you would need new animations new behaviours new physics and new enemy reaction system.did you know that the arrows in Skyrim don’t even bounce properly yeah that’s right they bounce backwards there is a mod that fixed it,imagine that but for all the behaviours and psychics and new animations that would have to be added that would be a ton of work.

Combat isnt that bad it just needs animation refinement, whats everyone having a fit over? Games not even out yet and everything looks super polished, besides animationsbwere the weakpoint of warframe as well
Plays like Warframe but it has no appeal to Warframe players because the theme is conflicting. Warframe fits with the enemy jank and floaty animations because you're just flying around with your frame shooting and hitting a bunch of things without much thought, but with a medieval fantasy theme I don't see how it'll fit with this style of gameplay. Now you'll be way slower and grounded but the combat and animations still have that feel that fits a fast paced game like Warframe way more. The grounded feel asks for more thoughtful enemies and encounters, and the animations feel tighter/"in place" and have more weight. I know that Fromsoft has been increasing the pace of the games (mostly because they got caught into this "difficulty" fame that did more bad than good), but they all still have a grounded "rhythm" to them. I also know that this is not supposed to be a soulslike but the main issue is a conflict of themes. Either find a way to up the pace to Warframe levels so the gameplay fits or make it grounded like a souls game, an inbetween thing is just going to get hate from both sides.
Warframes / Soulframes engine just doesn't work with souls like combat at all. Too floaty, too weightless. This will be free, online and co-op, with a story and lots of items and weapons to grind, and everything being updated indefinitely, like Warframe. Presuming it's dev cycle would be like Warframe, everything will be improved over time, and the game will be released in an alpha version of sorts.

The combat system and enemy AI are not good, after all, this is not the warframe, the enemy should retreat or be scared and shout when they are injured.
Still loving the vibe but I second all the comments on the combat. It's probably fine but it could be great with time and attention.
It looks so beautiful! The aesthetic of it all! Can’t wait to play it!
combat needs work but teh design and themes of teh world seem super interesting, love the sound design too, love that snap of the fingers to summon teh bird guide, coming along well, please include short hair options hahah i hate long hair for a protagonist hahaha it doesnt seem important but it is hahahah
Needs a little polish and fine tuning but looks ight
The still cooking, give them time. This was put out to let players see the vision.
Its so flashy like I had to close my eyes the whole time
steve clearly forgot about the game part of "videogame"
This game looks so good artistically.
i think floating in the air is okay in a shooter because even if you are in the air, you can be shot.. against melee enemies, it just feels like cheating
Nice. There’s not enough ACTION ADVENTURE RPG’s in the world. I’ll keep my eye out for this one. Hope it comes to XBX
Really cool! Liking it
I almost had motion sickness and a seizure watching this, can’t wait for it to come out but I hope they focus more on improving the combat
This looks awesome I can’t wait
Combat: please help me!!!! HELP
THE LEGEND OF ZELDA OCARINA OF TIME REMAKE HD,4K,
That looks amazing!
I can't believe they felt comfortable showing off combat in this game.
They need playtesters from outside the studio. This is terrible.
Thats the point, they are keeping things transparent in their early development stages. Keyword: early.
@@iheartdonuts662Are they though? Because this doesn't look early. This is too far into development to only now be worrying about combat. Combat should have been the FIRST thing they worked on.
And the argument that they wanted to collect feedback doesn't make sense either because you don't need feedback to realize that the combat looks awful. It's immediately noticeable by anyone
@@tomekk.1889 they haven't even released the open beta yet. Furthermore they've only been working on this game for about 2 years. Whachu talkin bout bruv.
DE want us to play and test while they make updates to the game, *live* . So stop tryna ruin a good thing with your excessive worrying. 😮💨
@@tomekk.1889you should really learn more about game development if u think like that
soul frame is on duviri isnt ?
I think the combat needs to be more fluid, movements need to line up with each other better as well as the weight of the roll needs to be more pronounced if you are going to have a slide like this. I think the overall speed of it needs to go up. You and the enemies need to be faster, not warframe speeds but not when you are taking 6 seconds to stab someone on the ground while everyone else stares like 2-4 is enough. It looks as if you are walking with tungsten weights on ice. I will play it but I feel like there needs to be a lot of improvement.
Edit: you have an absolute masterpiece here, but i think you need to improve the combat. As well as a skip animation button because i feel like that is going to be that type of game.
I just discovered this because I’m into all this sword and sorcery stuff. I read this is connected to a game called Warframe? I checked out that trailer and it looks sci-if. It was also free. Does anyone have news on whether this will also be free?
It's free
@@bakedsoupwithcakes5025 🙏
This will be free, online and co-op, with a story and lots of items and weapons to grind, and everything being updated indefinitely, like Warframe. Presuming it's dev cycle would be like Warframe, everything will be improved over time, and the game will be released in an alpha version of sorts.
@@mitkoogrozev Thank you for providing a realistic outlook. I feel like a lot of the doomers here either don't know or don't remember the state that Warframe was released in. That game is NOTHING like it was in 2013. This isn't to say anyone should accept a half-baked product, but my point is that it will definitely improve (and maybe considerably at that) over time.
10년전 출시한 게임 검은사막 전투가 이것 보단 나음 😂😂
Crimson desert is going to be peak 🔥
Lvl 100 warframe combat vs lvl 1 soulframe combat
Is that a warframe like ? Or is it a game that can be completed from A to Z without spending 10000+ hours like Gears of War ?
Probably like warframe
Released date ?
There's not even Lock-On? DOA. 😩
Getting dark souls vibes from this hope it's easier than dark souls hope the players combat damage is higher when it releases.
has a lot of personality, sounds amazing, but the gameplay/movement/combat looks a bit rough. not exactly sure what. animations, gliding, rough transitions, hit feedback, etc
The comment section: blah blah blah combat blah blah
Me: Who is that bird? What's that bird's name? What is that bird? Don't shoot at that bird. 😍
Looks very aesthetically pleasing and the gui is impressige most impressive. Really seems luke an mmo coming from the warframe devrlopers which is a good thing. Combat is slower and focused but seems like its targetting system is off a bit with the camera. Course i am coming from Elden Ring so expectations are high. This combat seems much better than current mmos so that is good. But from what i've seen and kniw if the company. I'm in.
combat is the reason one would play that kind of game, and they can't even make it good..
Are people really applauding at these combat moments? Hopefully the devs don't get too carried away with the positive feedback because the combat and movement needs work for sure.
is it in the same world as warframe?
The movement and combat somehow look worse than the gameplay video I saw almost a year ago
Combat doesn't feel like anything is actually making contact. This def ain't it...
The combat reminds me of Soulsborne games.
Wooooooooooo!
Duviri The DLC !! 🤣
Duviri was the dlc, this is the duviri game. The physcis engine is too old and floaty for this slower paced combat they're trying to make work on it
So my AI talk YET I seems like in every new game NPC are extra bad.
They need to fix that sliding thing. That has been fixed by a modder for Skyrim back then, they should be able to do it too. The fluidity in combat is non existent in this game at the moment. I probably won't be playing this if they don't improve on this before the release.
Mortal Shell, Dark Souls, Warframe. That's what it's supposed to be, isn't it?
skyrim Nolvus modpack
Yeah, enemies don’t react properly to being hit and move awkwardly is how I would describe it.
When a developer can't get something as simple as the basic gameplay camera right, I immediately assume the game will be awful.
How often do you see pre alpha game footage ?
Hit reactions should be a priority in game dev look at games like devil may cry, dragons dogma and, dark souls, sakiro for example.heck even devil may cry 3 did it better and it’s from 2005.
Still don't see how this is going to be a MMO experience 🤔
11:45 This French Baddie Verminia! 🥵
Does it take place in France? I'm just so confused with the different voices seems like there isn't consistency
@@PaendaTube Probably not. Your ancestors are from different places so they all won't have the same accent.
💛💛
This game wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't a free-to-play grinding mess like if they just made this like a $60 here's the whole game it would actually probably be pretty good
why are we copy pasting combat animations that were made literally 15 years ago. Lets move away from having unpaid interns and just pay an actual animator to come up with some new animations for god sake.
