I'm an 'Average Brit' but I stopped watching the BBC several years back. They just struck me as having become obsessed with identity politics and to have adopted an anti-citizen democracy ethos. Now (on top of that) they seem to Hate Israel and to swallow & repeat every announcement made by HAMAS. It's amazing for me to remember what a dedicated BBC viewer & listener I was for most of my life.
Same goes for most of the media in the US.
I only watch their old British dramas and comedies, but I NEVER watch BBC news.
I might as well watch Al Jazeera!
Yes, and it is actually the very same for me as a South African, having to defend Auntie Beeb against what I believe to those of my Countrymen who are still keen to Fight the Anglo-Boer War of Queen Victoria's Time! What Now, where do I go to keep myself informed??

I am a Catholic, in Australia. And I am shocked and appalled by the events of 7th October. And I’m even more appalled by the vehement antisemitism and pro Hamas support being imposed on Australian liberal values by angry mobs of protest marchers disguised as free Palestine supporters.
The truth is, just as we see Israel fighting for its very existence, in military battles, we too are witnessing an assault on our Parliamentary democracy by an unholy alliance of radical Islam and extreme left WOKE movement that now controls all tertiary education in Australia.
By reason of faith, Judaism and Christianity are inextricably linked and must face this global threat together, and we will.
As a footnote, sadly, Australia does not have a Douglas Murray, or a Jordan Peterson and that is a terrible shame because we will need one.

Who or what really died at Auschwitz? Here's an interesting viewpoint. The following is a copy of an article written by Spanish writer Sebastian Vilar Rodriguez and published in a Spanish newspaper. It doesn't take much imagination to extrapolate the message to the rest of Europe - and possibly to the rest of the world.
I walked down the streets in Barcelona and suddenly discovered a terrible truth - Europe died in Auschwitz !! We killed six million Jews and replaced them with 20 million Muslims in the past 4 decades !!.
In Auschwitz, we burned a group of people who represented culture, thought, creativity, talent. We destroyed the chosen people, truly chosen, because they produced great and wonderful people who made great contributions to the world, and thus changed the world .
The contribution of today’s Jewish people is felt in all areas of life: science, art, international trade, and above all, as the conscience of the world. Look at any donors’ board at any symphony, art museum, theatre, art gallery, science centre, etc. You will see many, many, Jewish surnames. These are the people who were burned. Of the 6,000,000 who died, how many would have grown up to be gifted musicians, doctors, artists, philanthropists ?

They have blown up our trains and turned our beautiful Spanish cities into the third world, drowning in filth and crime. Shut up in the apartments they receive free money from the government, they plan the murder and destruction of their naive hosts .
And thus, in our misery, we have exchanged culture for fanatical hatred, creative skill for destructive skill, intelligence for backwardness and superstition. We have exchanged the pursuit of peace of the Jews of Europe and their talent for a better future for their children, their determined clinging to life because life is holy, for those who pursue death, for people consumed by the desire for death for themselves and others, for our children and theirs. What a terrible mistake was made by miserable Europe .
Recently, the UK debated whether to remove The Holocaust from its school curriculum because it 'offends' the Muslim population which claims it never occurred. It is not removed as yet. However, this is a frightening portent of the fear that is gripping the world and how easily each country is giving in to it .

I have spoken to a number of fellow indigenous Brits recently and we are outraged by this disregard of our hallowed days and ground.
Israel is our spiritual and ancestral land. But expulsions and pogroms have moved our people from pillar to post. We've intermingled with our host nations and have become as they are over many generations. We are as intigrated as any native of the British isles. Yet we are, at times, still treated as the proverbial societal dartboard.

As an 'average Brit' I was forced to send a formal complaint to the BBC this morning for an interview on Radio 4's Today programme in which a representative of WHO, Cairo and a representative of the Israeli government were questioned about the situation in Gaza. The WHO guy was listened to with sympathy as he extolled at length on the suffering of the Palestinians, even when he did this at the expense of actually answering the question he had been asked. He was treated respectfully, allowed to finish his sentences, and was not required to provide independently verifiable evidence for anything he said. All of it was treated as absolute truth, taken at face value. By contrast, the Israeli government representative was not accorded the same platform. Every statement he made was challenged; he was frequently interrupted or talked over by the interviewer, who simply changed the subject when he made an argument which could not logically be refuted - this was when he was asked about the proportionality of the Israeli response to the Hamas massacre of 7 Oct; he was not allowed to finish making his point, and instead the subject of the Western Strip was introduced, to further bolster the interviewer's quite obvious opinion that the Israeli actions in Gaza were unjustified, by way of moving the goalposts to more favourable ground. I do not know how, but the Israeli remained calm, logical and courteous throughout. She made several snide and chippy interjections to undermine him, which bore no relevance to the subject at hand and only served to underscore the general sense of antagonism. In short, she laid bare her own obvious prejudices. And that is the crux; viewers and listeners should surely be trusted to make up their own minds about these subjects, by being presented with the facts, unadulterated by the presenter's personal opinions. I do not care what that interviewer's opinion on this subject is. I just want her to give her interviewees an equal platform to present their points, so that I can form my own, independent, opinion. That is her job. That is the BBC's job, and it is manifestly failing.

As a life long lefty who previously supported Palestinians I can say that this whole think has changed my mind. I’m totally in sympathy with Israel. It’s been a total wake up call and I can’t be the only one. Yes it’s awful what is happening in Gaza but I see it as Hamas who are causing it not Israel. What alternate do they have? Where was all these these demonstrations when Muslims were killing Muslims in Syria, Yemen, Iran and iraq ?
