What are your thoughts on Flex Tape?
I purchased a roll & it was next to impossible to get it to unroll w/o ruining the tape. Also, if you try to cut it, it sticks to the scissors or knife & makes a mess. Would not stick to a 2-man tube that had a leak @ a seam. I completely cleaned the area prior to application, but it did not work.
I've used it to cover a roof leak on my house before a recent snowstorm. So far it's holding, if it does so until spring I'll be happy with it.
I HAVE ON OCCASION FLEX TAPED MY WIFE'S MOUTH SHUT WITH GOOD RESULTS.

I’ve watched all those TH-camr’s “test” videos. The instructions on the Flex Tape roll CLEARLY state that it requires 7 days to reach full strength, and these kids said that they have it like 15 minutes. I’ve used it personally, I ACTUALLY read the instructions, and it works at least as well as in the commercials.

1:26 look at how the tape is applied in the corner. Of course its going to leak. It might be easy to use but you still need to have some common sense.
Also, on the commercial they used the 12" roll, which is a lot wider than the ones both the TH-camrs and the TV shows used. What a bunch of frauds!

I used the tape to repair a huge crack in my in ground pool's skimmer. Worked like a charm and has been underwater for a year and is still exactly like I applied. I have used the spray and then painted and it stood up to the waterproofing claims. Stuff works great in certain applications!

I used it in the wheel well of my van that started rusting and was leaking water in. I put it over lightweight sheet metal and covered the area. Figured it was a quick easy way to repair it and see if it would hold. Its been about a year and a half and it is still holding like the day I put it on and no leaking in. So I give it a thumbs up.

Don’t know about the rest of you, but I’ve used Flex Tape. And for me, it worked as advertised. Once had a bronze outside water faucet break because it froze. Water was pouring out of the crack, a hard stream under city pressure. It was about 26F and getting colder with freezing rain/snow mix and the start of a 3 day snow storm. Thought I’d try it the tape. It took 3 layers wrapped in various directions to completely stop the water flow, but it did, and it held the faucet water tight for 4 days, until I was able to replace the faucet. For me at least it worked as advertised.

You know generally buildings have valves indoors to shut off water to the faucet during the winter or in situations like this?
stickloaf - doing things the “right way” is obviously always better. If you’ve got leaky plumbing, use the Flex products to get you through till after work the next day, then fix it correctly. Unless the product is actually doing the job.
Minimalist Moto Life - ALL buildings have water shutoff valves, but most of them are outside where it can be accessible to the local water company. They technically ask you not to touch them, but with the right tool you can shut it off to do plumbing repairs where there is no other shutoff valve between the fault and the municipal supply. On top of that, the main water shutoff means just that. ALL of the water in said property is shut off. Pretty inconvenient when people still need the restroom and when you can do a quick if temporary fix, it’s a no brainer. Expensive, and needs to be used in the right application, but effective.
Flex tape works so good my wife is speechless.
So, it's ridiculous to think you'd have an every day problem like having a cannon fire through your boat, but NOT ridiculous to think you'd have a boat CUT IN HALF that flex seal didn't fix right. Hmmm.....btw, I've used flex seal on many things and it absolutely worked like a charm every time!

I used flex seal to patch the rust holes on the roof of my truck many months ago. It sits outside the florida sun and wet weather and has held up fine. Love the stuff!!

I have used it and it works. You really do have to apply it correctly, especially flex seal. Let each coat dry and do multiple coats

I had a jet ski that developed a pretty big gash down the front center of the hull after beaching the ski. We got the ski out of the water and used flex tape and it got us back to the boat launch just before dark. now I keep 2 rolls in my truck at all times! LIFESAVER!!!

I know a next door neighbor of mine used the flex seal on two concrete bricks by gluing them together. And you could pick it up and they didn't come apart. So that stuff does work somewhat. lol

I had to leave a like because you mentioned Demolition Ranch and talked about Flex Tape
So... most of this video was centered around Flex Tape’s lack of ability to be bulletproof. However, the company never made a claim that suggested their product was able to do anything remotely close to stopping a bullet. The bulletproof hype was originally birthed on a TH-camr’s review and since then, tons of TH-cam channels, including Grunge, have picked it up and ran with it without even reaching out to the company. I guess if I was running out of ideas and needed views for TH-cam videos, I’d probably claim something similar.
How could you diss our savior and Prometheus, Phil Swift and his glorious products that patch all of your problems.

Being a long time motorsports fan and racer myself I can tell you they did NOT use Flex Tape to repair that race car. It's a widely known product called Bear Bond. It comes on large pieces made to fix big crash damage. But for marketing purposes they tell people it's Flex Tape. It just isn't. Not saying Flex Tape wouldn't work....it might. But that's not what they use

The Grunge guy says it seems unfair to use Bear Bond or Flex Tape to fix your race car. It's not unfair if everyone has access to it.

I work in the oil field water transfer industry, I’ve had bad results using Flex Seal for high pressure leaks on poly line. It will hold for a good 20 minutes, but water eventually finds a pocket to get thru.
How high of pressure was it?

The stuff does work as advertised, though I wouldn't put my life on the line with a boat. I figure it would be good enough to make an emergency repair to help get me back to shore, but I'm not going to cut a boat in half and fix it with Flex Tape.

I used the spray on a leaky garden hose and all that happened was I painted the hose part black. The leak continued.

I used it on a plastic kiddie pool that formed a crack from creasing it too many times while draining it. Seriously thought it would work about as well as duct tape. Slows the flow but doesn’t seal. I was wrong. The pool wasn’t holding water at the time but it was wet after cleaning it out before finding the crack. Tried the tape. Instructions do clearly say to firmly rub it into place. It was also on a corner and still wet. Applied as directed. Sealed first try. Mind blown. I’ve made several comments on this page and they are not paying me to say this. Doesn’t always fix things, but it is easily the highest performing seal I’ve found.

Used flex tape to repair a cracked drain pipe, (not under pressure) and the repair so far has held 3 years to date.The tape extends 2 inches on either side of the 6 inch long crack.

1:25 The TH-camrs had one 3" strip. On the commercial it says they used a 12" strip on the inside and outside. It works for what the commercial says which is so much more than most products.
