I don't know if you're into superhero shows but I totally recommend you watch Agent Carter. The costumes are magnificent! It's not on Netflix though, but I promise it's worth it.

I was binge watching vintage hair/makeup tutorials and I ran across one of your videos, and now I absolutely love your channel. Even though I'm only 17, I don't connect with today's fashion. Everywhere I go, if I leave the room, strangers whisper to my friends and family "Oh, she's an old soul, isn't she?"

I think the easiest way to make modern stuff look vintage/retro is all about how you style your hair/accessorize. You get your hair style right and everything else comes together. The same dress and cardigan that might just look girly on its own can look instantly retro when you have your hair done up, a pearl necklace, plus retro shoes and purse. I dress in a very 50's girly teenager put together style, but nothing I own is vintage. I make a lot of what I wear and combine it with staples like tee's and cardigans I get from places like Target.

Love that you are a cosplayer! I was too for a short period, than I realized I wasn't as skilled as I wanted to sew my own cosplay and found quilting which is a joy for me. I'm a very creative person... sewing is my therapy!

A good crime drama (not historical, though) on Netflix (hopefully still...) is Top of the Lake. Very dark and/but compelling.

I looove crime scene photos! hahaha My mom works as a DA and when I was younger I used to help her during my vacations to organize old files and put some others into boxes by year, type, etc. So I had a wide collection of photos to look at :P murders, accidents, suicides... I felt SO curious and I never felt scared or disgusted so I enjoyed a lot... Of course, I still do! :D #dontjudgeme lol

I did the same thing with P&P. I saw the Keira Knightley version of the movie first, and a little bit later I read Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (which is pretty entertaining, IMO). Like two years ago I finally read the book and I love it! Darcy makes a lot more sense in the book since you actually get some narration from his POV.
I do get the feeling, though, that Jane HATES Mrs. Bennett.

What got me into vintage styling / decor (I'd say I dress more modern romantic vintage, than authentic vintage) is when I was younger (let's say 6 ish to about 15 years old) my dad had two 70's muscle cars. We used to go to old cars exposition with his mustangs and there was "vintage" music and people "dressing up". I think it's kind of what got me interested in vintage later on in my life.
Anyway, not intresting at all but I felt like sharing! :)

if you like jane austen, you would probably really like georgette heyer. she's a more current writer (1950s....i think) but she wrote romantic novels set mostly during the regency period and then a series of mystery novel set in the twenties and thirties. If you haven't read her you should for sure. Her writing can be seriously hilarious, her characters are so relate-able and amazingly interesting. if you do decide to try her out, i suggest 'the grand sophy' this book is just amazing and you will instantly love sophy. again amazing..

I love hearing about all your interests! I'm a screenwriter and have been involved in vintage (especially 40's) for about two years now, so it's wonderful to come across someone with such similar tastes! I feel like the 40's in cinema was almost a golden era for the industry, with the glamorous costumes, the triple-threat stars, and the heart-warming stories. That's what draws me to the era at least!
Side note, a video (or response, whichever you feel like) about what sort of vintage looks you wear to work would actually be neat. I work retail right now so it's difficult for me to wear vintage or even vintage-inspired pieces without breaking dress code. Just curious, thanks!

That would be great! I love the elaborate/"true vintage" looks as well, but sometimes those just aren't right for work settings.

I also have themes for each room. Our bedroom is floral/garden because I couldn't narrow down a color scheme; my kitchen is strawberry themed (Red and white gingham and... strawberries...) our dining room is floral/fruit and veggie kitsch (like dishes that are actually shaped like fruits and veggies...) and our living room is kind of... well, the colors are pink and green but it hasn't quite come together yet. My goal is to make it look a bit like a hobbit living room.

I don't know if it is on Netflix. But try to find it. It is one of the best-acted, and most gorgeous series to ever be on television. It launched the careers of a whole host of now famous British actors. It starts in the 1920s and ends in the early days of WWII.
