Great job, my son just moved in an apartment, this apartment had been empty for four years and never cleaned after the last tenant left!! I’ve been washing walls windows, putting up new blinds, lining cupboards and drawers, declutter his totes filled with so many things he didn’t need, I even shampooed the carpets I worked a full week plus and still not done! I’m 68 and boy am I in pain! What we do for our kids!! I’ve always wanted a Cricut!
The painting of the shelves in the garage would be a perfect summer project for your lovely girls! Even if they only did a shelf a day each it would go so fast and they would love it!
Jodi, we have a power washer and I would not recommend it for inside the garage. we use it on the outside of the house and on things like the picnic table, which is that hard plastic type of lifetime table. First of all, at least in my opinion, you would have had a big mess with a power washer and all the water and secondly, it would take a lot of the paint off those shelves and you'd have it all in the water, and you'd have to shop vac it out. That would cause you another headache. I have heard your "life story" a bunch of times and love it each time. It just gives me a nice feeling and a smile when I listen to you talk about your grandchild-soon grandchildren, your children, and I always learn something, from each of your channels. And I knew what you were going to do on your entry mat and I love it Jodi! That is perfect for your home entry area! And I just love that you are REAL! It makes it so much more fun. If you staged things and only showed the end or what is done to "perfection" it wouldn't be real and it wouldn't be at least what I would want to see. I love when you keep it real because that makes it so much more relatable ... since we are all real people. You definitely worked your tail off for sure. OK, as a suggestion, which may help you. What I think would be a fantastic bin type for those shelves, since they're long and open (nothing stopping a bin from going onto the shelf next to it, if you know what I mean), and because the shelves are not very tall, I think especially for the sporting rackets, etc, those under the bed type of bins would be awesome. They're flatter but long and I think they would work nicely in that area. I think you probably know what type of bins I mean. I have a few of them and love them because the lids fold in the middle so you don't have to take the entire lid off, just open one side or the other. OK, as much as I hate suggesting things, I thought that might be a helpful suggestion. I think you did an amazing job Jodi! And give yourself a break because it is a garage and it's going to get "buggy" and dirtier than any other areas of your home for sure so no hurry on painting and really sprucing it up. I think that wipe down (although I know you scrubbed) and a good sweeping and it's perfectly fine for a garage. Those Home Depot garages that they show on TV are so unreal, like we were talking about, keeping it real. There is no way anyone's garage that actually use it, has it that organized and clean and bright like that. Even my husband said there is no way a garage, regardless of how much you clean or paint or put up peg boards, etc would ever stay looking like that. He said one oil change and it would never be the same. LOL. And I think he's right! Have a great rest of your week!!
On the shelves, recycle paper grocery bags as shelf liners. They make for a nice, clean shelf and are easy and guilt free to replace. If you wrap them around the front edge, you can use the edge space to label the shelves! Paper bags as shelf liners are fantastic!
Jodi is BACK!!!! Always enjoy hanging out with you🤗Oh I hear you with the crawlers. We have a black widow that just moved in at our front door. So glad my hubby takes care of the crawlers 😂Hope you are having a great week
Hello! New here! I’m Valérie, French Canadian from the province of Québec and also a 40 years old mom of 2 boys who are 12 and 17! Love your channel and your happy vibe! It motivates me to start some decluttering projects I need to get done! Thank you! 😊
I use to take a week off in the fall and deep clean my house (wash blinds, curtains, walls, move furniture, etc). But as I get older that is more difficult for me. So now each month I deep clean a room or two so it’s not so overwhelming. By year end I have gotten through the whole house….and then I just start all over at year end. That has really helped me!
Hi Jodie! I don't mind you not being an "expert". In fact, the thing I love the most in your channel is how natural you are and how normal is your house. Nothing super fancy, in a Pinterest way, because like you always say, people live in houses and things happens. Regarding your question, I wash my hair every four days and I never use nothing like dry shampoo. Lots of love ❤
Power washers are great! I wouldn’t use it like that on the shelves though because you have drywall in the garage and that can’t be power washed or it will mold.
Hi, Jodi! Great job on pt2 declutter! Grandaddy long legs, I agree... keep them! Your mat is Sooo you! Impressive declutter of that wall! Bins....put measurements in your search before bins, see if that helps. Tennis 🎾 use an under the bed type that's long enough...unless you have too many? The cedar chest would make an awesome: "hope to move out on my own" chest for the girls. Start filling with basic supplies they'll need for college or first apartment. Makes a huge difference in that initial cash outlay! Great on the recycling stuff.once you do those special recycling, regular recycling and the trash it will feel even BETTER! paint on the shelves... alternative option is spray paint just the tops & front of the shelves for now but it's always up to you. You know those 2 bedside tables, the side table in garage and that chest would make an AWESOME crafters set up when coordinated and arranged properly. Plus it would be totally unique like your daughter!
What about an under the bed storage container for the tennis rackets? I’m a new subscriber & I have been watching all your cleaning/organizing videos. Your videos are real life which let me see that maybe there’s hope for me yet. Thank you for that! You have a wonderful cheerful personality which would make you a perfect friend! Love how much respect you give your children in letting them make choices instead of forcing them into your choices. ♥️
I love every video you make, they are so real and I just love your spirit. You are such a wonderful relatable lady. You are awesome. Great transformation, your a hero. Love you
Hi Jodi, I came for the decluttering but stayed for the couponing. Thanks for your inspiration. I have been working my way through your videos and started shopping CVS deals. Thank you for all the money you have helped save my family.
Have you considered moving the items that are under the water to a higher shelf? That would allow for you to move the recycling under the shelves which would clear off the step and in front of the other door.
Self adhesive paper would be great on the shelves because you could wipe it off easier. I did that because my shelves were like yours. I washed them well like you did, then papered them, they make me 😃 everytime I see them. You did a great job.
Looks great Jodi. You could use clear garbage bags for odd shaped items. That will at least keep the dust off of them. I use those in my horse arena for saddle blankets and stuff like that.
I can’t believe the space you have on the shelves, it’s absolutely amazing. Ya the bugs are a problem for me too. I always love how you keep it real and do it over a few days. Oh your doormat is brilliant. Take your time on the sentimental stuff because you need energy for that. You really are doing a fantastic job decluttering, cleaning, organising and decorating the house that’s something to be very proud of. Stay safe and healthy. Mary, Joes wife 💪👏👍💐🙏🥳🧽🧹
I love to watch your videos, and I also love how you tell your stories.. I feel like you are talking to me when you do you jobs... Whenever I see your notifications come up I can not wait to watch... Great job Jodi
Oh Jodi what a awesome job . So, so proud of you. I wish I had a garage, only a shared car port for me. You impress me with all the hard work you have done to your home. Keep it up lady, one day, one area at a time. 😊
Jodi, I bought a power washer from Lowes that is electric. Just hook up your water hose, put soap in the dispenser, plug it in and that's all. It has specific fittings for the end of the wand, for soap, etc. It's small, but it does a good job. My ex took the gasoline powered one when he "ran away from home".:) It would peel the paint off the walls. So since I'm now 70 years old, the small electric one is fine with me. I can keep my garage floors clean, and do the porches, etc. It's light weight and easy to handle. So you might want to start with a small one. Just a thought. I love watching your videos! You are so fun!!
I can’t help but to clean to all of your videos!! I love how optimistic and positive your channel is, it’s just what I need for some motivation!!!💕🤍 hope your having a wonderful day
AMAZING!!! You did an outstanding job on the garage...I wished you lived next door - I think we could have a hoot and a half! Just LOVE your channel and how you show us this is how it really is with a family and life! Thank you so much for the motivation to keep going. When you showed your daughter's cast, my 19 month old grandson broke his leg on Sunday and is in a full cast to his upper thigh. It breaks my heart when I have to see him in it, but it doesn't stop him...OMG he moves just as fast with that thing on then before! We are working on organizing our living room - my husband enjoys collecting DVD's so we found on Amazon DVD wall shelving units and we placed that on one wall in our living room and all the DVD in alphabetical order - what a task but it looks so nice now!!! Thank you Thank you Thank you!!! Until next week!!! 😊😊❤
Awe Barb poor little guy. You are right! It doesn’t stop them or even slow them down 😂 Gracyn got around on her cast so well. I hope he heals fast 🙏 Oh I bet the DVDs look great and hope you pat yourself on the back for that 👏👏
WoW what an improvement! You are such a nice person! Maybe a tip (personal experience) Try to leave it empty under the bottom shelves. On the floor it gets dirty faster. Then you can sweep and possibly mop everywhere without having to move stuff around
A power washer will change your life!!! They’re soooooo awesome and satisfying lol. I understand your thinking about the shelves and flooding. I probably wouldn’t do it inside the garage. You could remove the shelves and lay them on the ground and power wash them! But for outside projects, a power washer is the way to go for real. I love watching people write messages on their sidewalks with their power washers lol 😂
Great job. I have my garage sit up for crafts right now and my yarn .Am a horder in yarn but am starting to finish things so it's still decuttering 🤣 right now am redoing a loveseat I love the older stuff lol see you next time 😀
OMG!! I freaking LOVE the door mat! So grateful this week for TH-cam, I just had to watch several video's on how to replace the belt on my dryer. So I'm a couple of days late to watch my favorite! (YOU)
Karen you’re over there replacing a belt on your dryer??!! Well dang girl 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 INCREDIBLE 😍 Yes isn’t TH-cam amazing! Such a fantastic resource. Thank you. I love my doormat too 🥰
Hello from Sweden! I have just watched three of your videos and I love them and I love you! I feel so relaxed, and just want to watch more! Thank you! 🤗
We are in our 2 year window to move out of this town. I know it sounds like a long time, but I have started the declutter process already. I'm like you, a little bit at a time. Garage look great! I might tackle mine.
OMGOSH!! Fantastic! Hey painting can wait be patient!! You have down a magnificent job! Love your videos! You have me hooked! I’m going backwards catching your past videos!! You are definitely a hard working person! I am like you in many ways. I can not do projects in one day!! Not happening!! I admire people who do but it is not me! Lol!!! Decluttering is sooo hard for me... Ty for sharing your journey with me! It has helped me a lot!
I have been a subscriber for awhile. You are a breath of fresh air compared to other channels. I look forward to all of your videos weekly! Plus your laugh, hugs!
Looking great. The only thing I would do different would move things from the floor up if you could so it's easy to sweep. But I do clean my garage now monthly.
Hi Jodi, I was so excited to see the second half of your garage declutter...lol...I'm so proud of you! Love your rug it's so you, it really put a smile on my face. Can I make one suggestion that's really been bothering me. Please, please get a step stool. They sell them at walmart for like 40 dollars. We got one for our sons apt. And it really is helpful. It scares me whenever you use that chair. Thank you for your videos they help me be more accountable to myself to declutter a small space before going to bed. I sleep better at night and wake up happier know I did something productive.
Thank you so much Alice 🤗 You know I bought one like 3 weeks ago because I told myself I need to stop stepping on chairs and I just keep forgetting I have one. Hard habit to break I guess 😂 Appreciate your concern ❤️
Great job Jodi! I normally only wash my hair once a week, but I would probably be washing every night too with what you tackled in the garage. What a task you took on, it just feel good to see the progress!
Trust me girl, get a power washer. It is amazing for cleaning your cement garage floor, the driveway, the patio and any outside steps, etc. I would not recommend using them on those wooden shelves....those just need to be cleaned ( like you did ) and sanded, primed, and painted with outdoor paint. You are doing SO dang good with your decluttering and cleaning! I am so proud of you and you are an inspiration for all of us!
Great job on the garage!! Power washing is easy and I like to do it. We own one and they aren’t hard to use at all. You would probably enjoy using it watching it remove the dirt and grime.
If you want to use bigger regularly available transparent totes, maybe you can cut off parts of the second horizontal shelf and it will make a larger space to fit shelves
Well you’ve done it! You inspired me to clean the garage! I in turn inspired my husband! We are on the second day. We have made the biggest mess ever! But we will carry on! Thank you I think!
U do inspire me soooo much! U should see my garage! Every year my son helps me to clean and declutter it ...but the next year there is more to declutter! I don't know where all this is coming from! I have decluttered and donated and trashed and there is always more...
You did such a great job! The door mat is soo cute and so you, I love it. I have a cricut and it is great. I bet Donna Jean will love it so much. Thanks for sharing and continuing to motivate us all!
I wanted to come help you. Lol this is my favorite thing to do. Clean!! Maybe I should video myself and watch the transformation too. This is awesome and you just make me happy with your laugh.
I was about to say make that your garage broom lol i have 2 plungers 1 strong one for the bathroom and 1 for the kitchen because the sink was always stopping up.
Jodi, buy some gloves for your hands and use them when you clean. Once you clean the other shelves on the back side and put everything in its place, I would move near the door what I use the most inside on those first two set of shelves and use the other ones for the extra and overflow. That way it's closer to the door and easier to get to. Good Job :)
Dear ms dunn, as you were talking about your grandmother's glassware i was reminded of the shelves in your pantry, the rather small ones. Perhaps something could be done that the sentimental items culd be stored there. Just a random thought. Good day.
Cute mat!! Love the leafy step.😊 You might consider having your garage spray painted when you decide your ready to paint. It will go a lot faster. Your did a fabulous job on that dirty garage. How about using a space bag on those tennis rackets and other things just to keep them clean? So handy. 🤗🤗 Yes! I keep indoor & outdoor brooms too! You betcha, got to have a shower/wash hair after spending time with the bugs!! Eeeek!! 🤗 You might also consider buying a two or three-step ladder where you have something to hold onto - standing on chairs is so unsafe. Don't want you to get hunt. 🤗
You can buy an inexpensive power washer or they also rent them at places like Sherwin Williams! You may be intimidated to use one but it’s so much fun once you get started, or maybe I’m just weird! Lol. There’s also a product you can buy that you can use to cover the foundation of your garage to make sure it’s water tight. You essentially paint it on and let it dry for a period of time and then you’re good to go!
Thank you Brenda ❤️

I love the way you say, “Hello, Hello, Hello!” And I love your door mat!
Thank you Alie ❤️❤️
Very nice Jodi you forgot to put OMG on the door mat 🤣 I just decluttered my garage too🥰
Jodi is BACK!!!!
Thank you! 😊
Thank you Valerie 🤗🤗 so happy you are here ❤️
The under bed storage totes would work for the tennis rackets. They’ll probably hang over the edge a bit but I think would work
Thank you Jenn ❤️
You always put a smille on my face. You’re so joyful!
I wash my hair once a week. My very curly hair don’t need more.
Gret job Jodi! Enjoying your house transformation so so much!! Proud of you from afar!

Lots of love ❤
Power washers are great!
I wouldn’t use it like that on the shelves though because you have drywall in the garage and that can’t be power washed or it will mold.
Love my power washer...totally addictive! You're right-you wouldn't want to use it near drywall, it would soak up the water.
I kind of figured that but wasn’t certain so thought I should play it safe 😂❤️
@@jodidunnmymessylife1847 the chest box will work for toys n the bluee boxes could go in a bin
Oh Jodi, I love your enthusiasm, nothing needs to be perfect, it just needs to be better, well done lovely lady, fantastic job as always ❤️
Thank you so much Christine ❤️
A little change at a time makes a big difference. Looks good. 👍🏾❤❤❤

You know those 2 bedside tables, the side table in garage and that chest would make an AWESOME crafters set up when coordinated and arranged properly. Plus it would be totally unique like your daughter!
I think you need to make another mat with OMG! Perfect transformation of your garage shelves.
I am so obsessed with your garage declutter & organizing videos. :)))))
❤️❤️❤️
I treated myself to a power washer around 4 years ago and I love it, I use it loads xx totally worth the money xx
Thank you for sharing Robina. I really need to get one ❤️

Hi Jodi,
I came for the decluttering but stayed for the couponing. Thanks for your inspiration.
I have been working my way through your videos and started shopping CVS deals. Thank you for all the money you have helped save my family.
Oh my gosh Liz that’s soooo exciting!! Cvs is a great place to coupon ❤️
Have you considered moving the items that are under the water to a higher shelf? That would allow for you to move the recycling under the shelves which would clear off the step and in front of the other door.
Hi Shelley 🤗
No I haven’t. The recycling bins don’t interfere whatsoever with getting in and out of the garage or the back door opening 🥰
The tennis rackets would fit in a zip up bedding bag. They have them for cheap on Amazon.
Self adhesive paper would be great on the shelves because you could wipe it off easier. I did that because my shelves were like yours. I washed them well like you did, then papered them, they make me 😃 everytime I see them. You did a great job.
Oh that’s a great idea Susan ❤️❤️
Looks great Jodi. You could use clear garbage bags for odd shaped items. That will at least keep the dust off of them. I use those in my horse arena for saddle blankets and stuff like that.

❤️❤️❤️ I clean etc like you do. I do what I can in chunks of time because I get so overwhelmed because of my ocd. Thank you.
That rug is adorable!😍
Thank you Jessica ❤️
Use sticky back plastic on you sheelves. Easy, plus quicker to keep clean in future.
Thank you Susan ❤️
I can’t help but to clean to all of your videos!! I love how optimistic and positive your channel is, it’s just what I need for some motivation!!!💕🤍 hope your having a wonderful day

Try to leave it empty under the bottom shelves. On the floor it gets dirty faster. Then you can sweep and possibly mop everywhere without having to move stuff around

Gorgeous final result on the garage, Jodi! Much love. 💖💖💖
A power washer will change your life!!! They’re soooooo awesome and satisfying lol. I understand your thinking about the shelves and flooding. I probably wouldn’t do it inside the garage. Thank you so much Jess 🤗
Great suggestion
Your garage looks terrific! I love you Hello, Hello, Hello doormat. Cleaning my garage is on my to do list for this fall. Thanks for your videos.
Do sticky back plastic on your shelves. Easy, plus quicker to keep clean in the future!

You are definitely a hard working person! I am like you in many ways. I can not do projects in one day!! Not happening!! I admire people who do but it is not me! Lol!!! Decluttering is sooo hard for me... Ty for sharing your journey with me! It has helped me a lot!

Hugs back to you Sheree 🤗
Always love seeing your comments ❤️
@@jodidunnmymessylife1847 you made my day replying to my message!
Looking great. The only thing I would do different would move things from the floor up if you could so it's easy to sweep. But I do clean my garage now monthly.
You are doing a great job! We have shelf paper in our garage. They are held in place with thumbtacks and easy to clean.
Great idea Eileen ❤️
wow so clean and organized my my jodi and hubby great jog we have to do ours now thanks for the video
The solo button on the left of the cricut will open it up 😊 the doormat looks great!
Thank you Cassidy ❤️
I just love your personality and your channel! Thank you for making cleaning so joyful💖
Thank you Gigi 🤗
Hi Jodi, I was so excited to see the second half of your garage declutter...lol...I'm so proud of you! Love your rug it's so you, it really put a smile on my face. Can I make one suggestion that's really been bothering me. Please, please get a step stool. They sell them at walmart for like 40 dollars. We got one for our sons apt. And it really is helpful. It scares me whenever you use that chair. Thank you for your videos they help me be more accountable to myself to declutter a small space before going to bed. I sleep better at night and wake up happier know I did something productive.
Thank you so much Alice 🤗
You know I bought one like 3 weeks ago because I told myself I need to stop stepping on chairs and I just keep forgetting I have one. Hard habit to break I guess 😂
Appreciate your concern ❤️
So proud of you friend!
Thank you Sarah ❤️
Fabulous mat ha ha. I just love your humour. Well done again Jodi.
Great job Jodi! I normally only wash my hair once a week, but I would probably be washing every night too with what you tackled in the garage. What a task you took on, it just feel good to see the progress!
Thank you so much 🤗🤗
O.M.G. I luv ur doormat !!!
Great job babe! Been working on our Son's room with him; he has hoarding tendencies like me and I am super proud of the progress he has made.
Thank you. I need to get over my fear of them 😂
I am going through my yarn hoard today. Did not realize that I had so much yarn!
Thanks Jodi!
This was awesome Jodi...I love your philosophy of better not perfect.
Great job on the garage!! Power washing is easy and I like to do it. We own one and they aren’t hard to use at all. You would probably enjoy using it watching it remove the dirt and grime.
Thank you for sharing Angi 🥰
If you want to use bigger regularly available transparent totes, maybe you can cut off parts of the second horizontal shelf and it will make a larger space to fit shelves
Thanks Elizabeth. It’s not the height that’s an issue. It’s the space from the wall to the end of the shelf 😊
Well you’ve done it! You inspired me to clean the garage! I in turn inspired my husband! We are on the second day. We have made the biggest mess ever! But we will carry on! Thank you I think!
Gloria it always seems to get worse before better 😂😂
Well done on getting started 👏👏👏
I love those shelves!
Yayyyy!!! A clean and declutter video. Go Jodi!!!
Hi Meloni 🤗🤗
Love it, Jodi, awesome!
Thank you Prym ❤️
Love you're shelving units Jodi
U do inspire me soooo much! U should see my garage! Every year my son helps me to clean and declutter it ...but the next year there is more to declutter! I don't know where all this is coming from! I have decluttered and donated and trashed and there is always more...
You did such a great job! The door mat is soo cute and so you, I love it. I have a cricut and it is great. I bet Donna Jean will love it so much. Thanks for sharing and continuing to motivate us all!
Thank you Julie ❤️❤️
I have a feeling Donna Jean will become a pro at the cricut before I do 😂
I just love your channel!! You are always making me smile!! 🤍 Garage is looking so good 👏👏
Thanks so much Hannah ❤️
Hi! If you want, look up the 8 sided folding method for cleaning. It helps wipe things faster, since you are not rinsing as much
Thank you ❤️
The tennis rackets would fit in a zip up bedding bag. They have them for cheap on Amazon. Great job Jodi!
Thank you ❤️
I wanted to come help you. Lol this is my favorite thing to do. Clean!! Maybe I should video myself and watch the transformation too. This is awesome and you just make me happy with your laugh.
Joan you totally should! Or at least take a before and after picture. It’s very rewarding to see the difference ❤️
Really good job!!! It must feel so good to accomplish so much change in your home. I'm excited for you and your family ❣️
Looks awesome my friend! Great work. Our garage is on my list of decluttering projects for the fall.
Thank you Julie ❤️
Jodi, you are so much FUN!!!
Thank you Carolyn 🤗🤗🤗
Jodi...you just crack me up! Love your laugh!
Wow Jodi. GREAT JOB.
super! so happy to see part 2 !
Such a big job and you did a awesome job on getting the job done ‼️♥️🥰😍
Thank you Deb ❤️
Awesome job Jodi! I’m now motivated to do this to my craft room! Keep doing what your doing! Peace and blessings to you and your family!♥️
Thank you Debra 🤗
I was about to say make that your garage broom lol i have 2 plungers 1 strong one for the bathroom and 1 for the kitchen because the sink was always stopping up.
Oh yeah Latonia I was not bringing that broom back in the house 😂
Jodi, buy some gloves for your hands and use them when you clean. Once you clean the other shelves on the back side and put everything in its place, I would move near the door what I use the most inside on those first two set of shelves and use the other ones for the extra and overflow. That way it's closer to the door and easier to get to. Good Job :)
Looks so good!!!! Great job!!!!!!
Another great job Jodi!
Bravo Jodi!
Thank you Jean 🤗
