I just realized I forgot to record that 3 yard sale bins went back into the basement! They are labeled and I felt I could sell them in the Fall Yard Sale. That felt good in my heart!!! If it doesn’t sell in September/October then I’ll take it to Goodwill!! Thank you for watching ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
Next time !!! Think all that money were in your basement !! You're so lucky you can have garage sales or donation centers and thrift stores, where I live there are not, if we want to give something away we can give it only to friends and family otherwise we myst recycle or trush it.
So proud of you and thank you for sharing your journey with all of us!! I always look forward to your videos! Maybe this is inappropriate but I am very interested in that greenish vase with the big flowers on it...if you still have it and/or it doesn’t sell in the fall, can I pay you for it along with shipping?
Great job again! Your "aha" moments are so wonderful. Your thinking patterns are genuinely changing and you're giving yourself unconditional love, which is always where the power to change for good comes from. It's so beautiful to watch. Thank you as always for sharing your journey.
What an amazing day for you and your family!! As a little extra incentive for yourself, once you have your emergency money in place a great idea may be to give your kids an experience instead of possessions for gifts!!! That will be something they will remember when they become adults. They will remember the great times and places they have been with their mom and dad. Not the the things you gave them. You have such a great attitude!!
Great job!!! Next time you do a yard sale is it possible to leave a Free - sign by the curb and have anyone just grabbing whatever doesn't sell? Might save you a trip to Goodwill?!
Having that "Aha" - moment will help you in the future decluttering. And when you realize how little you actually need in daily life, it will change how you see your stuff. I'm glad you could have yard sale!
we love an "aha" moment!!! I wonder if it's because you've been using your driveway for a sorting area for your hubby's things in the garage every week, that it helped you understand the scale of YOUR things more when you saw just that small section of the basement covering the driveway. at any rate, I think keep up the FB marketplace selling, and I'm proud of you for donating some of the leftovers. Build that nest egg!!!!
That is amazing! Good job! I love yardsales, especially to see how happy people are when they find something that I would not care for anymore. When I donate stuff, I always envision people having their best day finding a treasure that used to belong to me :)
This was such a success!! I’m so happy you had a good turnout and were able to make some extra cash and space it’s a win win☺️ Definitely the right thing to take what was left for donation straight away I have fallen into the trap of saving it for another day and then it never seems to leave my house lol xxx
That's awesome, hopefully now that people know your house has great finds, they will come back for your future sales. Also, have you thought about taking pictures of things that don't sell while they are still on the table after the yard sale so that you can upload it to Facebook marketplace and you save some time? Also, you can join groups on Facebook that do yard sales or that are thrifters so that you can get more traffic
That's great that you only took 3 bins back to the basement and donated a lot of the other items that didn't sell. When some people have yard sales they might only sell like 5 or 10 percent of their stuff, then lug everything back into the hoarded house. You're making so much progress, but the key is to not bring in as many new things. Like you said in the video, all you really need to shop for now is groceries and toiletries. All though the occasional splurge is still fun.
@@ahoardersheart Did you guys forgot to add the sell-stuff that was in the garage from your garage decluttering videos with hubby? Just wondering since you didn't mention in this video. ☺️
Oh well done you! I was watching the first bit thinking "please don't put the leftovers back in your home, please just donate it" and you did. Way to go! Woo hoo! Pompom shake.
You did good! So happy for you that the yard sale happend. And well done for bringing everthing to goodwill on the same day. It's gone. Byebye. Peace and joy for you and yours.
When I need to clear out my house I watch hoarders. Gives me the incentive to get things done. One yard sale I had my carport so full people looked at me funny I said I'm not a hoarder you'll never see this in my house its all put away

And if you do not buy more stuff (as you do with your no spend) you are going to safe even more money! Guess you will feed your emergency fund quite quickly this way 👍
Good job! Lots of love from Switzerland! ❤️🇨🇭❤️ I follow your jurney for about a year, your babysteps added up to miles! Thank you for letting all of us be a part of your life☺️ Watching you helps me understand an other way of thinking. I am a very organised person, with a light OCD, but I am learning to let it go...So your chanel for me is therapeutic in a way. It doesn’t have to be allways perfect. If I have anxiety, I have to clean and declutter to feel safe...I try to change that. Maybe we meet in the middle?🤗 Stay healthy and safe💜
You did a great job! How about doing a yard sale every 2 - 3 weeks to keep emtying the basement while you kee decluttering and accumulating stuff to get rid of?
That’s a really good idea!! I’ll have to keep an eye on the weather bc it gets really gets hot & humid in the summer and people drive to the shore on the weekends...including myself!! Lol But I am still selling on Facebook Marketplace so fingers crossed that I keep selling stuff on that ❤️🤞❤️
Way to go👍 Like you’ve been saying from the beginning “have more stuff go out than come in”😊 Once you get rid of things you don’t need, then you can be very intentional when bringing in something new! Use things, enjoy things, but don’t let things overwhelm you💕
Hey! Another great inspirational video. The combination of selling items to others who can make good use of them, donating items to Goodwill, seeing the effect it has on your decluttering and knowing that in some way this will go towards achieving your 2020 goal of 6 month emergency funds is just amazing. What you must be feeling now must be quite overwhelming for you. Well done. Linda from Norfolk, England.
You are amazing and yes it does seem as if. You are developing a different mindset you should be very proud of yourself . I love your house it is epic houses here are generally a lot smaller And we don't have a basement or garage. I have a secret that I will tell you I have loads of things in the loft space that were my sons when he was growing up and I understand totally why you would want. To hang on to them some things bring up treasured memories you have and are still sorting tidying and storing as well as selling and donating so don't apologise when you come across something you feel the need to keep you have places for them and you are doing a fantastic job . I am so happy to be a viewing subscriber of yours you have helped me understand a few things about myself too. Apologies I wanted to send this as a PM but I have forgotten how to it's okay to delete it as it is so large catch you later x
I was happy to see you donated stuff you didn’t sell. Don’t drag it back in, get rid of it. That was the worst part of a yard sale to me was having to clean up afterwards
You did amazing! I am so glad this helped you to heal! Not being able to see the clutter is called clutter-blindness, and we all have it to some extent. We just get used to the way things are, the new normal as stuff comes in and out of our homes. You've got your winning formula and so long as you keep plugging away at it, you will get a home that can function as you wish it to! This week, I have been working on my mother's kitchen. She adores antique decorative items, and the kitchen has shelves of it. Like a mini-museum. But we were able to let go of three giant boxes of items that don't fit with the functionality of the kitchen nor her decorative themes. She's always had clear counters and I've helped her to let go of some things over the years...but the sheer amount of stuff that was packed into the cabinets, when laid out on the floor in boxes, is alarming. We were blind to the clutter when it was tucked away in it's place, but when it's all pulled out, then we can see it in full, just like Mari Condo has pointed out. One thing that has helped is to consider the purpose of each area. We cut out two purposes (sewing/crafting and storage for home repair materials, consolidating elsewhere) and all of a sudden, what we had left started fitting into the cabinets perfectly. We have made a vow, anything that doesn't fit back in to the cabinets nicely and we've never used, we won't be keeping.
So happy you got to have your yardsale! Good job! Like you said, we acumulate so much and even if we get rid of stuff we find even more! Keep up the good work! I am looking forward to your next video, like I always do! ❤️
up to the next yard sale or market place sale. good job. and girl i am so proud. you see things now. how many things you have. that savings account trive with letting go of the stuff. every day is a day for decissions. This is the best news yet. I love going on this journey with you. I'm not a hoarder but I am understanding the condition for the first time. Thank you.
Tuesday Continuing mailbox garden redesign. Will take the rest of the summer , I think. Zone three done. Recycling/ trash came this morning. I pulled out two storage bins for Alan to go through again and hope the contents can go. It is slow going , since from passed away parents. We need to do this since we are senior seniors, and with the current conditions....
Great job! I love how much you took straight to Goodwill and that you made some money for emergency fund. Just a thought IF weather cooperates, July 25 is a Saturday- you could do Christmas is July yard sale and not only sell the other stuff but holiday stuff too. Keep up the inspiring work! You got this.
Have you thought of first finishing the garage clean out and moving everything you are going to keep to the perimeter of the space temporarily. Then continue on with decluttering the basement by pulling all garage sale bins up to the garage so you can hold continuous garage sales through out the summer then you can take remaining unsold items to donate all at one time? Just a thought.
Hey HH, I could totally relate to accumulated stuff over time. We took 3 years to get to a managable household with things that are truly needed. Sometimes it does fill up again from time to time, but I realized that it's hidden junk that makes it out into plain sight. Glad you're having a great experience with decluttering and trust that it will get to a point where you have space to party down in that basement. Much hope and pray 🙏
GREAT job! That was excellent! The more you declutter and you keep revisiting your stash, the more you will continue to declutter. It's a process that gets easier and easier. Keep up your great work!
Omg that really was brilliant. 👏👏👏👍👍👍🙇♀️🥇 Can’t believe I saw a Guinness glass in the middle of all the glasses 🤣🤣🤣. It’s a win for everyone, people with new treasures, giving to charity and you with more space and money. You made all that happen!!! Your a truly wonderful person. Stay safe and healthy, Joes wife Mary 👏👍🙏🦄💐🥳🤑
Wow, what a great video for all these things to get accomplished. Space opened in basement, stuff sold, things donated and money earned. Really great and we can tell how much you felt the shift. Yesss for FB marketplace :You are good at that. Crazy idea: 50 items a month on FB marketplace just to see how you do in selling.
This was such a nice video, and congratulations on a successful yardsale and some new insights! I sometimes have a hard time watching your videos because too much stuff stress me out, it drains me of mental energy even when it’s not my own stuff 😂 but I have to say that you’ve made a great job with your decluttering and I’m sure you will continue to make even more progress with everything you’ve learned along the way 💪 keep it up! 💕
That's so much extra money! 🤩 I am planning to declutter my closet again. And sometimes I get anxious decluttering clothing, because what if I don't have anything to wear left? (doing laundry more often would instantly solve that problem), so here's what I do: from the category, I am worried about, I keep a few pieces that maybe I wasn't so sure about under the bed. Then once the season is over where I should have needed them, and I didn't, they go.
What a nice set up you had! Great work! Here is to the fall sale! I am thrilled for you.... Did the WHB and zone 3 of Flylady, since raining and cannot work outside. Zone three , I purge the baths and look for a way to freshen up the look a bit. They get swiped every day but get a deep down once a month.
That’s a great idea, things that don’t sell, donate! Clearing and cleaning is fantastic! I’ve been getting rid of things. I’m not having a yard sale. Time is money to me. Out of sight, out of mind. Maybe you might consider that idea. I tried yard selling, waste of my time, when I could be doing some more decluttering.
Glad you let go of so much! Here's hoping there's good weather for more yard sales- another comment suggested every 2-3 weeks, which sounds like a great idea time- and weather-permitting. Perhaps in the meanwhile you could post things on Marketplace as groups- a post with of all your glassware yardsale items in one large picture could have additional photos of individual or sets of items to give people a closer look, for example. Not sure if you can remove individual photos as the pieces of the group posting have sold, though. Doing so- or updating the large cover photo to exclude anything that has sold- would trim down the number of dead-end questions you receive (do you still have [thing that sold as soon as you posted the whole batch]?).
So proud of you! You got so much out of your basement. I had a semi random question that I wanted to ask. On the shelving unit that I think has the bins with your kids schoolwork in it, Are all the bins on that shelving unit already categorized bins that you can soft into? Sorry I know this is really random but I was just wondering. Great job though and keep up the amazing work.
Awe, I’m happy to answer your questions! Most of those bins are organized but there are some that are unlabeled and a “mystery” at this moment!! Lol I’ve been on such a Decluttering mindset that I haven’t organized too much yet!! Thank you so so much 💞
Just a thought .....you love crafting...I bet if when you get done with the basement....you could make a great crafting area for yourself in that bright corner of the room....I think (I too have ADHD) that if your could actually get the craft and also your memories organized around you that you would begin to see how much crafting stuff you have and then be able to make time to find the joy in using it. Also when you can actually find the stuff you have for crafting you will be much more comfortable in making the time for your hobbies. and since like me you have a great husband with lots of tools..it shouldn't be too hard to set up a nice big desk and shelves to have it all on hand.
October 2024. I don't buy new decor or craft items. I make crafts with things I have or get free. My Halloween decor fits in a small shoebox. I got canvases from a recycling dumpster. Paint and brushes were free. Most of my clothes were free or second-hand. Tina, Al's wife
@@ahoardersheart that's what I would do also, keep the good stuff for next time. Good call. Big thing for a sale, is the advertising. I've seen sale signs that were so small you had to stop and read, also put a sign out a block ahead, it for warns people the sale is ahead. When I'm with my husband, if we drive past a sign, it's too late,he won't stop.

I love how yous have yard sales over there, we just don't do them here. We have to go to a car boot sale.
I am so proud of you! You are doing so well, especially to achieve this during theses challenging times! 🇬🇧💕🙏💕🇺🇸🌈🥰
Oh hugs and hugs! You have done beautifully! Keep going on your journey to peace. ❤️
Nice sale!
Yay you finally had a yard sale
I know right!! It felt like I waited forever!! Lol!! How are you feeling my friend?
@@ahoardersheart I feel great we are supposed to get out of the hospital today im so excited I hope you have great rest of your day mrs heart
Oh that’s wonderful news!!! I’m so happy to hear 💞
Great job !! I got stuff too decluddering basement now.
You should be super proud of yourself!
Awesome!!
First, I love you so much
Awe, I love you too 😘❤️
What a nice set up you had!
Very Big thumb up 👍👍👍👍
It sounds like it really hit you! I'm very happy for you :)
BRAVISSIMA!!! 👏🏻💚
Thank you my beautiful friend 💙🐦
Nice job, what about the furniture in the garage?
Every time you get stronger you worm my heart a bit more ") 💙
Well that went well for just a half day sale.
Thank you so so much 💞
Theres no way we could put stuff out the night before and not have it all stolen
I thought the same

Just a thought .....you love crafting...I bet if when you get done with the basement....you could make a great crafting area for yourself in that bright corner of the room....I think (I too have ADHD) that if your could actually get the craft and also your memories organized around you that you would begin to see how much crafting stuff you have and then be able to make time to find the joy in using it. Also when you can actually find the stuff you have for crafting you will be much more comfortable in making the time for your hobbies. and since like me you have a great husband with lots of tools..it shouldn't be too hard to set up a nice big desk and shelves to have it all on hand.
This is almost like getting paid for decluttering!
October 2024. I don't buy new decor or craft items. I make crafts with things I have or get free. My Halloween decor fits in a small shoebox. I got canvases from a
recycling dumpster. Paint and brushes were free. Most of my clothes were free or second-hand. Tina, Al's wife
Did you take any of the unsold items back into your house this time?
Yes, I had 3 plastic bins go back for the yard sale in Fall!! I felt we could sell them then! If not, then to Goodwill it goes!!
My girl is on fucking fire !!! 😍💙💙💙💙💙
