This is exactly the kind of comparison I was hoping for! I originally passed over your videos because I didn't have high hopes for a channel called "Just a Dad". Great video! If you're ever looking for a new toy you can get calibrated sieves/meshes to sort the coffee particles through.
Thank you for this terrific video. After watching your oxo standalone video, I was blessed to see an amazon 20% price reduction. I ordered it with, virtually, no hesitation. This three-way comparison vindicates my decision that was heavily influenced by your other video. Blessings 😊
Looking for a coffe grinder...and who do I comme upon but JUST A DAD. You should get commissions. Buying the OXO. Bought my keurig with your reviews, bought the instant cold brew and will now buy this coffee grinder. Thank you ever so much from Montreal.
I have the Cuisinart burr mill. I didn't know it had a flat burr. I agree it is extremely loud! It is not always a consistent grind, but good enough for my Universal K-Cup. The static doesn't bother me. I keep the lid on the hopper and empty it into a container that is sealable like Tupperware. I paid $48 at Sam's Club many years ago! So in the end it is reliable and if I grind 8 oz all at once the sound is no big deal!
GREAT review! 👍🏽 thank you sir. I live in an apartment and what really sold me was how much quieter the OXO is. Plus I really need my grinder for finer espresso grinds. The OXO is definitely worth the extra money. I almost pulled the trigger on the Cuisinart. Thank you for saving me from noise complaints from my neighbors early in the morning. 😬😅
I also like with the oxo that you can remove the bean hopper by unlocking it with a turn if it s filled with beans say if you want to try a different bean and the beans won’t fall out when you remove the hopper , not sure if the others have that feature and also like the uv coated hopper of the oxo to protect the beans from light
Well done review. I just want a grinder for medium coffee grind for my drip coffee maker. Based on what you said about the Mr. Coffee versus the Cuisinart and how loud the latter is, I think the Mr. Coffee might work just fine for me. The OXO is more expensive, and I think I'd prefer setting for cups of coffee I want to brew instead of a timer.
don’t get the mr coffee 12 cup grinder. i’m not sure about the 18, but it’s the worst burr grinder i’ve ever used. shouldn’t even be called a burr grinder, all the grinds don’t come out uniform at all. the finest expresso setting (1), comes out as medium fine. the course setting (12), comes out course but mixed with mediums and fines.
Weird, I think the grinds cup on the OXO is aluminum, not stainless. Also flat burrs are considered better for espresso fine grinding than conical burrs. I have the OXO and am quite happy with it after about 4 years with it.
The Oxo looks like it's hands-down the winner here. The lack of static, the only proper burr here (some bloggers have a big issue with the makeshift burrs in the Cuisinart and Mr. Coffee), and it still doesn't cost that much. The coarse grind has a lot less fine dust than either of the other two, too. I only wish it would be easier to grind to a specific weight since that's what brew recipes ask for.
@@thefix-itguyreviewer8151 There's no flat-burr grinders in this comparison. So compared to the other two here, as has been said, the Oxo is more consistent.
@@LJ-wo1wf how do you know it's not a flat burr grinder? He said even looking at it those are more flat. There's only two types of burr grinders as far as I know. You have flat and you have clonical. The cruisinart is not clonical. Chronicle has two pieces you could see how it's put together. It looks identical to a flat grinder a flat burr grinder.. Go look it up look at pictures It looks like a flat grinder a flat burr which is actually better than chronicle for consistency. He even said it was more consistent than the OXO.. so that's why it makes perfect sense. The advantages to chronicle is that it doesn't create as much heat. That's not an issue with the smaller grinder they even talk about it in their literature. So look it up do some research and you'll see the truth
The Cuisinart one uses a generic design which also appeared in the Mr. Coffee one generation before the current model. I had to do a lot of modification to make it grind finer but both of them are not good for espresso. And yes, that same design is just crazy loud. I live in an apartment complex and my neighbors know when I making coffee in the morning.
Thanks for the review. I’m not sure the extra $60+ for the OXO gets you much more than the stainless hopper (which is nice). I’m not that interested in the ability to produce a finer grind, as I don’t do espresso. Only drip or pour-over. My search for the best value grinder continues! BTW I subscribed to your channel.
Thanks for the Sub!!!! I just got so tired of the static from the plastic ones, Clean up is so much better with the OXO but you are right you can buy about 3 mr coffee's for the price of 1 oxo. Keep an eye out for OXO used on amazon You can save about 20 bucks if you see a used one. it usually is an open box that someone returned. I almost buy all my coffee makers under the used section on Amazon.
If you're only doing drip or pour-over, which grinder you choose doesn't matter so much. But, if you're making espresso, the OXO is head and shoulders above the others. It's probably the least you can spend for a decent grinder for espresso.

OXO is the best coffee grinder for 100.00

To mitigate static, just add drop of water into beans before grinding !
Great tip, thanks!

Yeah I agree with the OXO, Seems like to get the weight option really brings the price up. thanks for Watching and sharing!
Why not weigh your beans before adding to the grinder?
Wrong flat burrs is actually have more consistency than chronicle look it up.

😂 Wish I seen this before I seen your other video and bought the Cuisinart. PS What setting on the Quizenart for drip coffee and espress
drip right in the middle. espresso it needs to be about 3 notches from full fine.
I’m ordering the oxo I hope I don’t have to end up going for the encore for 170 that’s a little much to do whole beans imo.
Thanks for the review. I’m not sure the extra $60+ for the OXO gets you much more than the stainless hopper (which is nice).

They are coming!!! Thanks for your support!!!
thank you !!!!! you are the best
Your so kind!!
What is your favorite Coffee?
Thanks
Get some real coffee beans haha. I use to drink those too but after I learned what I was missing I never looked back
You really gonna be daft enough to do a grind review with expensive coffee?
I had that Cuisinart and it is God awful! That's when I learned that not all burrs are the same.
Really!!! "It wasn't nothing too major"???? A double negative? Try 'it wasn't anything too major'.
Sorry about that, thanks for the correct way to say it
There’s an old saying about idiots and idioms…
