After purchasing & returning several other well known supposed great grinders i ended up returning, i agree this review truly reflects it's a definite keeper. Even though i primarily only needed a consistent grind for Drip purposes the purchase price of around $162 with discounts direct from Kitchen Aid was money well spent finally. Providing you stay away from the dark roast oily beans the clean up is a breeze and the static is very minimal. The Db noise level could be no more then 50 if that much. No regrets period thus far.
After experimenting with my grinder. I had to adjust the burr to my liking. Specs for a decent drip coffee are the burr at 5-6 and 43 for the grinder. The factory setting on my burr was 8 ( course). And I weigh my coffee beans before putting them in the top hopper ( I don't keep all the beans in the hopper) . The timing definitely needs to be higher than factory if you want the full results of the coffee beans. I use an old toothbrush to clean the burr and the brush and vacuum to clean up the rest . Paid $139 for it
You should definitely put this grinder against the Breville Smart Grinder Pro. They both have very identical features and would be curious which would be better in a head to head comparison. Also another thing for the Kitchen aid and the Breville grinder is that if you take the burr out of the top, you can adjust the grind size even more in case you need it more fine or coarse.
Bought this based off of your reviews and some research. Wow, what can I say it's amazing. I almost went for the OXO but this was on sale for about 60$ cheaper. Also, I really wanted a more quiet than normal grinder and this one sure did the trick, wife cannot hear it from her bedroom at all and it looks great(small footprint). I also did not want to buy a beginner handheld grinder, then upgrade to a stationary grinder and then to an expensive better grinder....just start throwing away money for no reason. So I decided to just pop one time for this Cuisinart burr grinder from the heavens and it's awesome 👍👌👍 I got the Ninja Duo coffee maker🔥💥🔥💥, the cusinart grinder⚡💥🔥, now my coffees are fantastic!!! So glad you recommended this stuff, you rock mister Dad🔥👊! I
I just found your channel about a week ago...I got the Chef and Espresso/Cappuccino/Latte machine, looked up how to use it, for your video and it was so detailed and helped me out soooo much...I subscribed.. thank you for all your reviews ❤
I just ordered one from Amazon in red…dress up the kitchen coffee area with a bit of color! 🤗. Based on your other videos, I also purchased the Mr. Coffee 4 in one Latte, Cappuccino machine AND the SECURA frother. Your videos made my mind up. Keep it up “Just A Dad”.
I agree with you, this is one of the most appealing and interesting coffee grinders I'd seen, and it is shocking coming from a company which is not a big name in the coffee devices industry.
Love your channel. I know I'm late to the game but I have been researching grinders for awhile and finally decided on this one. I think the color sold me. Although I bought it before finding your review, your video shows me how to use all the bells and whistles. Going to get one of those porta filters. I'm definitely an Espresso girl!
This is a great brew grinder. Not your best for real espresso, but for brew very nice. First one died just short of year but kitchenaid replaced no problem. Great service. I use as single dosing, essentially no static. Very quiet.
What's not to like about grinding for "real espresso"? I have the internal grind adjusted to #1 turned the dial to grind 66 and make excellent espresso.
Can you do a long-term review on this grinder? From what I read on Amazon the reviews state after a couple months people are getting ER2 errors which are not being resolved easily. So basically initial impressions on this grinder from most people is quite high, but after using it for some time the quality declines pretty rapidly from what I’m reading.
@@JustADad It seems to error out more for folks who use it for espresso then filter... This seems like a jack of all trades and some corners had to be cut. Would love a review side by side of this vs the Baratza Encore ESP.. And what you think would last longer. People dont value #Buyitforlife more... both are priced similiar the Baratza ESP is a bit more but if it tasts a lot longer, has that support might be a better buy! Would love your thoughts. Thank you.
Hey used your Amazon code to purchase this last night, just wanted to give you a heads-up that it's currently on sale at $169. Maybe you can make a community post or something to boost content/ amazon link sales. Thanks for great content -Nick
I would love to see a review on the ZWILLING coffee maker! It seems pretty new and I have found few to no reviews over it but it seems to rival the moccamaster!
having a hard time dialing this in. Using a Solis Perfetta espresso machine. I can get it to look like a perfect shot, comes out in 20-30 seconds etc. with nice crema but still tastes bitter (I'm using good fresh locally ground beans the same I've used for years). So I try adjusting the grind but that throws off other elements. Plus I'm ending up with enough ground coffee that it inevitably spills out of the portafilter as I'm removing it from the machine and trying to level out/compact the grinds (by tapping it against the counter to get it to the point it's compact enough to use my distribution tool).
Really depends on the beans. For Onyx coffee on this model I had to use the Drip settings for espresso (weird right?) and it pulled on my Barista Express no problem. Other beans I do espresso setting works fine. Try that...
Would that grinder ,grind the expresso coffee fine enough for the Mr Coffee cappuccino / latte machine? My son just bought it for me and trying to find the best tasting expresso coffee and a grinder . Thanks !
It looks like this KitchenAid coffee grinder is made out of plastic. Am I right? I own the Blurr KitchenAid for 10 years made with a heavy metal case and glass coffee bean holder. Coud you help me understand the type of material KitchenAid used to build this grinder? Thanks in advance
No. Acrylic top and bottom. Their older grinder was glass but inferior to this grinder because the burrs were made of plastic. Anti-static acrylic. Absolutely awesome.
Hopefully we'll see a one year follow up review on this grinder. This follow up was posted today as well. th-cam.com/users/shortsTh_htmUq7PE?feature=share
I was about to order this. So can you tell me please. Have you removed the top bir ? Is it possible that it’s not setting right on top on top of the cone? Also have you noticed that the antistatic has disappeared over time? I am not going to get this until I hear about it …

Ate you not finding the drip settings are a bit too fine?

We've been using this one for about 2 years now and it's been the best grinder we've ever used.
Has the static free in the hopper diminish on you like other people are saying? Thanks in advance
@@InFltSvc Not that my wife has mentioned. She absolutely loves it, and loves the fact that it doesn't make a mess on the counter.
Thanks for the update!!
@@rich91710 thank you ! I was concerned about that ..
I just bought my wife one for her birthday. I wish I had seen your video first. I would've linked through your page. She's super excited.
Happy birthday! she will love it!!!
Your video has earned my rarest rating...
Helpful.
Great way to start a Saturday morning!

Smart Grinder Pro fails within 1-3 years
@@jacobs1047 I hope not, I love mine!!!
@@JustADad yeah mine failed after 14 months, oh well that's life I guess, some of the internals are plastic where they should be metal
Wow! Really nice looking and looks easy to use. Love that does not have lots of static. Also, like that it has attachment for Porta-Filter.
yes I love iT!!!

They went on a pretty decent sale on Amazon for the blk one. Picked one up, thanks for the review!
Good choice!
Thanks for the reviews! you can actually fix that weird LCD wave by matching the fps of the camera to the refresh rate of the LCD screen
Good to know!
This having the burr grinder tells me it's top notch... plus, it's Kitchen Aid ❤
Yep I agree 100%
I love kitchen aid!!! My friend has ref, stove & dishwasher very rich looking in her kitchen. Sometimes paying for name brand is worth it. Nice review

Deep end?

I wonder if it becomes too cost prohibitive to build in a weight function?
I wonder if this would work as a spice grinder.

I got a black one on Amazon for $139.99 . It was packed very well ❗️ Now I need to figure out how the burr adjustment works ( using a drip pot)

Great tutorial, but why is the digital dial flashing on you video.?
it does not in real life, it was just the video camera doing htat.
Great review
You make very good videos. 👍 Good reviews 👌
I appreciate that!
Can you just add the amount of beans you want and run it until they run through fully? My wife and I use different beans
Would that grinder ,grind the expresso coffee fine enough for the Mr Coffee cappuccino / latte machine? My son just bought it for me and trying to find the best tasting expresso coffee and a grinder . Thanks !
yes this will work perfect!!
@@JustADad Thank you!
Is yours still working if so how long have you had it?
Great video, but can you explain the time bit? If we have ground size and amount, why do we need time?
I believe it's because different coffee beans may require different amounts of time for the same amount, so you can create a preset.
For ME time is a product of amount. Time = 16grams for example.
I have it set on 66 grind size with a time of 16.8 seconds which equates to 16 grams.
Hi. So is it still working?
Yes
This is the Best coffee grinder, it’s quite too. I had the Cuisinart coffee grinder to begin with. It’s very loud and makes a mess.
How do you turn off the grinder?

Is it a glass top and bottom? And made in the the USA?
No. Acrylic top and bottom. Their older grinder was glass but inferior to this grinder because the burrs were made of plastic. Anti-static acrylic. Absolutely awesome.
I just purchased this coffee grinder. What setting should I use for pour over coffee?
That coarse setting seems way too fine for a french press?
I cheaped out with a $50 conical burr grinder. Uneven grind, retains coffee, noisy...
Looks beautiful
It was!
Is it just me or does that device look straight out of the 60s with a modern twist?
maybe a little
Well, it doesn't look like a Lava Lamp, if that's what you mean.
👍🏼
Is there a reason that the display is flashing constantly? I feel like that would drive me crazy.
Is there any way to turn off the grinder!
no it powers down automatcally
